NSFileCoordinator Swift Concurrency
I'm working on implementing file moving with NSFileCoordinator. I'm using the slightly newer asynchronous API with the NSFileAccessIntents. My question is, how do I go about notifying the coordinator about the item move? Should I simply create a new instance in the asynchronous block? Or does it need to be the same coordinator instance? let writeQueue = OperationQueue() public func saveAndMove(data: String, to newURL: URL) { let oldURL = presentedItemURL! let sourceIntent = NSFileAccessIntent.writingIntent(with: oldURL, options: .forMoving) let destinationIntent = NSFileAccessIntent.writingIntent(with: newURL, options: .forReplacing) let coordinator = NSFileCoordinator() coordinator.coordinate(with: [sourceIntent, destinationIntent], queue: writeQueue) { error in if let error { return } do { // ERROR: Can't access NSFileCoordinator because it is not Sendable (Swift 6) coordinator.item(at: oldURL, willMoveTo: newURL) try FileManager.default.moveItem(at: oldURL, to: newURL) coordinator.item(at: oldURL, didMoveTo: newURL) } catch { print("Failed to move to \(newURL)") } } }

SwiftData and iCloud
I'm a first time developer for Swift, (getting on a bit!) but after programming in VB back in the late 90s I wanted to write an app for iPhone. I think I might have gone about it the wrong way, but I've got an app that works great on my iPhone or works great on my iPad. It saves the data persistently on device, but, no matter how much I try, what I read and even resorting to AI (ChatGPT & Gemini) I still can't get it to save the data on iCloud to synchronise between the two and work across the devices. I think it must be something pretty fundamental I'm doing (or more likely not doing) that is causing the issue. I'm setting up my signing and capabilities as per the available instructions but I always get a fatal error. I think it might be something to do with making fields optional, but at this point I'm second guessing myself and feeling a complete failure. Any advice or pointers would be really gratefully appreciated. I like my app and would like eventually to get it on the App Store but at this point in time I feel it should be on the failed projects heap! I've even tried a new Xcode project for iOS and asking it to use SwiftData and CloudKit - the default project should work - right? But it absolutely doesn't for me. Please send help!!

__CRASHING_DUE_TO_PRIVACY_VIOLATION__ reason
Is there any way to find the reason for a CRASHING_DUE_TO_PRIVACY_VIOLATION from a crash report? It does not happen on my old iPad Air 2 and it does not happen on the simulators with the latest iOS. But it crashes always on newer real devices to which I have no access. The last app review for the AppStore also did not find it. I added some privacy strings by guessing and sent it via TestFlight but it doesn't change anything.

Sequoia 'local network' permission failure from launch agent
I'm trying to invoke a 3rd party command line tool from a launch agent to connect to a server on my LAN. It seems impossible. I have a little shell script that does what I need, and it works fine invoked in Terminal.app. The first time I run it that way I get permission prompts and I agree to them all. Subsequent invocations work. Now I put a launch agent in ~/Library/Launch Agents. It does nothing more than invoke my shell script at some specific time daily. launchd launches it, but it fails to access the LAN, with a 'no route to host' error message. The command line tool I'm trying to use is not a macOS-provided one, but one from MacPorts/HomeBrew (I tried both). It doesn't even matter which tool I'm using, I tried a very simple case of just using nc/netcat. If I use the macOS-provided nc, then I can access my LAN. If I install nc from MacPorts /HomeBrew, that nc cannot access my LAN. This I've reproed on a literally brand new Mac, then updated to newest Sequoia (15.3.2), then done all I've described above. I've ruled out DNS by working with raw IP addresses. I've disabled gatekeeper with sudo spctl --master-disable. I've tried using cron instead of launch agents, same results. I've tried codesigning with codesign -dvvv /opt/homebrew/bin/nc, no help. I've read TN3179 Understanding local network privacy. In summary: Terminal.app -> script -> macOS/brew nc -> internet/LAN = works launchagent -> script -> macOS nc -> internet = works launchagent -> script -> macOS nc -> LAN = works launchagent -> script -> brew nc -> internet = works launchagent -> script -> brew nc -> LAN = fails How can I make that last case work?

[macOS] AppTransaction questions (internet connection requirement)
Hello, I hope to find out more about how AppTransaction works on macOS, specifically about its internet connection requirements: if I use this to validate that the app is a legit purchase from the Mac App Store, I would not want it to have an always-on requirement just to validate. Does AppTransaction require the user to always be online for AppTransaction.shared ? When an app is downloaded from the Mac App Store, is the data needed for AppTransaction automatically embedded during that download, or is that data downloaded upon first launch of the app, therefore requiring an internet connection at launch time? Once the data/receipt has been downloaded by AppTransaction, is it cached until the app's next update, or is it cleared at some time during the version's life and needs to be re-downloaded, therefore requiring an internet connection at launch? Where is that receipt/data stored? Also, if you don't mind me sneaking in this non-related but sort of related question, in terms of receipt validation: Does macOS Sequoia's MAC address rotation feature affect receipt validation in any way when using IOKit? Thank you kindly, – Matthias

Mac OS 15.4 breaks receipt Validation
I'm using Swift to verify receipts in myObjective C Mac Application using the following code: @objc class MyAppTransaction: NSObject{ @objc class func checkReceipt() async -> String { do { let verificationResult = try await AppTransaction.shared switch verificationResult { case .verified(_): return "VERIFIED" case .unverified(_, _): return "NO RECEIPT" } } catch { return "ERROR" //(StoreKit.StoreKitError) unknown } } } Starting today with my upgrade to Sequoia 15.4 and XCode 16.3 receipt validation is broken. The function is going to the catch and returning "ERROR" I can't set a break point in the do {} but if I set one at the return "ERROR", in the debugger error = (StoreKit.StoreKitError) unknown. the Compiler logs an error:Failed to parse AppTransaction: missingValue(for: [StoreKit.AppTransaction.Key.appTransactionID], expected: StoreKit.BackingValue). Reading the developer documentation I can't find anything about these struct members. I tried to use refresh() to get a receipt like I used to with exit(173) but the compiler says refresh () not found. This is extremely troubling because I can't debug my receipt validation code and I don't know if this will happen to my users. Do I just have to trust Apple that my users will have an application with a receipt attached? What can I do?

Can NWBrowser be used in an AppIntent extension? NoAuth
I have an iOS app that connects to a server running on macOS by leveraging NWListener & NWBrowser. It also makes use of the peerToPeer functionality / AWDL offered via the Network framework. This works great in the iOS app. Now I would like to add support for Shortcuts / App Intents in general. The NWConnection on its own is also working great in the App Intent, but only if I provide the host/port manually, which means I can't use the peer to peer functionality. If I try to run my NWBrowser in the AppIntent it immediately changes its state to failed with a NoAuth (-65555) error: nw_browser_cancel [B1517] The browser has already been cancelled, ignoring nw_browser_cancel(). nw_browser_fail_on_dns_error_locked [B1518] DNSServiceBrowse failed: NoAuth(-65555) NWClientManager: Browser failed: -65555: NoAuth I haven't found documentation/information on whether NWBrowser should work in an AppIntent extension or not.

URLSessionWebSocketTask reports closeCode as invalid when state is completed
I am using a URLSessionWebSocketTask. When trying to receive messages while the app is backgrounded, the receive() method fails with an NSError where the domain is NSPOSIXErrorDomain and the code is ECONNABORTED. That behavior is good. However, when this happens, the URLSessionWebSocketTask reports a closeCode of invalid, which is supposed to denote that the connection is still open. However, the connection state property is reporting completed. I feel that the closeCode property should be reporting something like abnormalClosure in this case. Either way, this seems like a bug or the documentation is incorrect.

Zspeedaccuracy question
Hello everyone, I'm doing some work on validating some data to do with the zpseed functionality around corelocations, i've read up on the speedaccuracy field but the wording doesn't make sense to me. It says if its a positive number it is plus or minus the value in the zspeed column so would this be for example zspeed of 35 mps with an accuracy of 3 mps would it be 32 mps 38 mps or is it a range? so would it be anywhere between 32-38 mps. Or is it just plus or minus the 3mps and if this is the case how would it be worked out if its plus or minus when all the numbers will be a positive numbers as any negative numbers are deemed inaccurate ?

Core Location reports incorrect location update especially with underground travel
Description of the Bug: Core Location intermittently reports inaccurate location updates, albeit with a high accuracy value. This problem occurs almost exclusively while travelling in metros underground affecting the ability to rely on the framework effectively. Steps to Reproduce: The user starts travelling on ground level at point A The user continues travelling and, after some time, is now underground at point B. A stationary beacon scanned at point B confirms this. Core Location is observed to deliver a location update with a high-accuracy value but with the coordinates around point A when the user is actually around point B. Expected Behaviour: Accurate locations should be delivered at all times. In other words, Core Location should not report location updates with high accuracy when its certainty is low.

Crashes with Rosetta after Sonoma update (crash reports).
Hello. We have an app and a custom dylib hat seems to be crashing only when Rosetta is involved. I believe it's the custom DYLIB that crashes. Here are some observations. The issue happens on the older 2022 built DYLIB (Intel only) And the newer DYLIB built (Universal) The universal DYLIB works fine natively on both Intel and M1 machines. It's only when we access it through an Intel only .app and it's running with Rosetta that we see the crash. The older Intel only .DYLIB worked perfectly with the same testing .app in versions before Sonoma, now they crash with the same .app, same build. Crash reports have been all over the place, they vary but repeat themselves. It has been a little confusing as to how to approach this issue and would appreciate any input that can help us understand what is going wrong and how to move forward. Crash reports are attached Crash Report 1 Crash Report 2 Crash Report 3 The crash occurs as SIGSEGV Version: 2.0 (1) Code Type: X86-64 (Translated) Parent Process: launchd [1] User ID: 501 Date/Time: 2025-04-14 19:55:06.0103 +0200 OS Version: macOS 14.6 (23G5075b) Report Version: 12 Anonymous UUID: A08ECCFA-BF01-8636-7453-E4476586D3A8 Time Awake Since Boot: 3900 seconds System Integrity Protection: enabled Notes: PC register does not match crashing frame (0x0 vs 0x102920144) Crashed Thread: 10 Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x000000011d052840 Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x000000011d052840 Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault: 11 Terminating Process: exc handler [3174] VM Region Info: 0x11d052840 is not in any region. Transaction ID Misassociation in IAP Subscription API
Dear Apple Support Team, Hello! I am currently developing the in-app subscription functionality using Apple IAP API and have encountered a serious technical issue while processing subscription data. I would like to report this issue to you. Issue Description: When calling the subscription API endpoint, the same OriginalTransactionId returns inconsistent results. Specifically, a particular transaction ID (let's call it TransactionId_A) should belong to the subscription order with OriginalTransactionId_A, but it is currently incorrectly associated with OriginalTransactionId_B. This issue severely affects our ability to accurately manage and process subscription data. Here are the relevant log details for your reference: API Endpoint Requested: https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/subscriptions/{TransactionId_A} (Note: The link is a placeholder for the actual API endpoint.) Log Information on February 21, 2025, at 09:40:09: { "AppAccountToken": "{AppAccountToken}", "BundleId": "{BundleId}", "Currency": "CNY", "Environment": "Production", "ExpiresDate": {ExpiresDate}, "InAppOwnershipType": "PURCHASED", "IsUpgraded": false, "OfferDiscountType": "", "OfferIdentifier": "", "OfferType": 0, "OriginalPurchaseDate": {OriginalPurchaseDate}, "OriginalTransactionId": "{OriginalTransactionId_A}", "Price": {Price}, "ProductId": "{ProductId}", "PurchaseDate": {PurchaseDate}, "Quantity": 1, "RevocationDate": 0, "RevocationReason": 0, "SignedDate": {SignedDate}, "Storefront": "CHN", "StorefrontId": {StorefrontId}, "SubscriptionGroupIdentifier": "{SubscriptionGroupIdentifier}", "TransactionId": "{TransactionId_A}", "TransactionReason": "PURCHASE", "Type": "Auto-Renewable Subscription", "WebOrderLineItemId": "{WebOrderLineItemId}" } Log Information on March 21, 2025, at 09:38:49: { "AppAccountToken": "{AppAccountToken}", "BundleId": "{BundleId}", "Currency": "CNY", "Environment": "Production", "ExpiresDate": {ExpiresDate}, "InAppOwnershipType": "PURCHASED", "IsUpgraded": false, "OfferDiscountType": "", "OfferIdentifier": "", "OfferType": 0, "OriginalPurchaseDate": {OriginalPurchaseDate}, "OriginalTransactionId": "{OriginalTransactionId_B}", "Price": {Price}, "ProductId": "{ProductId}", "PurchaseDate": {PurchaseDate}, "Quantity": 1, "RevocationDate": 0, "RevocationReason": 0, "SignedDate": {SignedDate}, "Storefront": "CHN", "StorefrontId": {StorefrontId}, "SubscriptionGroupIdentifier": "{SubscriptionGroupIdentifier}", "TransactionId": "{TransactionId_A}", "TransactionReason": "PURCHASE", "Type": "Auto-Renewable Subscription", "WebOrderLineItemId": "{WebOrderLineItemId}" } From the above logs, it is evident that the same transaction (TransactionId_A) returns different OriginalTransactionId values at different times, which is clearly not expected and severely impacts our ability to correctly process and manage subscription data. I hope you can address and investigate this issue as soon as possible. If you need any further information or assistance, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your support! Best regards!

Invalid currency symbol
Strange issue with currency display in subscription products Hi everyone, I'm facing a strange issue in my app where I use a subscription-based in-app purchase model. The products I created in App Store Connect are all in "Approved" status. I've tested with both RevenueCat and StoreKit, but the result is the same. Here are the products being loaded: Product loaded: weekly_product_id Display name: Weekly Pro Description: Weekly Pro Subscription Price: ₺229,99 Product loaded: annual_product_id Display name: Annual Pro Description: Annual Pro Subscription Price: ₺1.799,99 Even though I can see the correct prices and currency (Turkish Lira) in the Xcode debug console, on my real device the currency appears as Philippine Peso, as shown in the attached screenshot. Interestingly, in the iOS simulator, it's displayed in USD. I've double-checked and my device's region settings are set to Turkey. Any ideas on what could be causing this? And more importantly, how can I fix it? Thanks in advance!

APNS notifications of apns-push-type pushtotalk sometimes stop arriving after switching networks
PLATFORM AND VERSION: iOS Development environment: Other: .net MAUI with vscode Run-time configuration: iOS 18.1.1 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM APNS notifications of apns-push-type pushtotalk sometimes stop arriving after switching networks. STEPS TO REPRODUCE We have created a simple app which can be used to deminstrate this issue. When you launch the app it displays the APNS token which you can then use fromn the Apple Push Console to manually send it PTT push notifications. https://github.com/trampster/PttPushNotificationIssue On an iPhone SE (we havn't been able to reproduce on our iPhone 11) Start the APP to register for the APNS push notifications Turn off the WiFi wait for 5 seconds Attempt a push to the app manually using the Push Notifications Console (this should fail, which is fine) Turn on Cellular and wait for it to connect Attempt to push to the app manually using the Push Notifications Console -> This fails, and all attempts to send an pushtotalk push notifications fail until the we switch network again. Send a push while offline before connecting to the new network seems to make it happen more often but hard to tell for sure. The results of the failed push in the console look like this: Delivery LogLast updated: 30/01/25, 16:45:06 GMT+13 Refresh 30 Jan 2025, 16:45:03.661 GMT+13 received by APNS Server 30 Jan 2025, 16:45:03.662 GMT+13 discarded as device was offline The device is actually very much online. Switching networks again oftern makes things come right. But it doesn't seem to come right by itself. We can't respond to network changes and do anything as the whole point of using push-to-talk push notifications is to wake up the app when in the background to answer a call, this means we are not running and therefore cannot respond to network changes to try to work arround this issue.

StoreKit Subscription Fails to Load During App Review, Works in Sandbox/TestFlight
Hi everyone, I’m facing a recurring issue with my macOS app being rejected during App Store review, and I’d really appreciate any guidance. The subscription flow in my app is implemented using StoreKit, and everything works perfectly in our development environment using a StoreKit configuration file. It also behaves as expected in Sandbox testing and TestFlight — I even had few beta testers confirm that the subscription information is displayed correctly and the purchase flow completes without issues. All required subscription details are configured in App Store Connect: • Subscription duration and the description of the services offered • Price and price per unit where applicable • Paid apps agreement and related forms are correctly filled However, when the app is submitted for review, the subscription screen fails to display the expected information. From what I can tell, the product information fails to load from the App Store in the review environment — even though everything is working fine on our side. We’ve already submitted a video to Apple showing the subscription UI working in the Sandbox environment, but the app continues to be rejected under guideline 3.1.2 due to missing subscription info in the binary. Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior during review? Could there be a caching issue or delay in StoreKit syncing for newly configured products? Any help or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks in advance!

Weatherkit API Historical 404 Errors Starting 3/5/25
We've been using the WeatherKit API for a few years now. Everything has been pretty stable. We'll periodically get 404 errors, but they usually disappear within a couple days. Starting March 5th we've again been getting 404 errors that slowly ramped up to March 20th and continued. We have had no code changes on our end, so something seems to have changed / broken on the server side of things. Here are some example API calls that are giving us a 404 error now https://weatherkit.apple.com/api/v1/weather/en/35.9981205/-78.8920444?dataSets=forecastDaily&dailyStart=2025-03-21T05:00:00Z&timezone=America/New_York&countryCode=US https://weatherkit.apple.com/api/v1/weather/en/41.4789363/-81.7404134?dataSets=forecastDaily&dailyStart=2025-03-21T04:56:00Z&timezone=America/New_York&countryCode=US Does anyone have any insights or information on this? Also if Apple is listening, an error more meaningful than 404 would be much much appreciated.
