Adding In-App Purchase to app + review required?
I'm trying to understand the IAP development process. I created my first Product on App Store Connect and am trying to build my app to use it. However it keeps failing with "Invalid product ID.". From what I've read, this is because the product has not yet gone through review. But what I don't understand is, of course it hasn't gone through review yet, because trying to use it in any capacity fails, even though I'm using a real physical device and using a Sandbox User. Is this the correct workflow? It seems very backwards that I have to submit the product for review, even before I know how it's going to be used. I'm still building the screen for the product page, and haven't even started touching any backend APIs, yet it's asking for screenshots. Am I misunderstanding something here?

Will transferring app affect iCloud's Documents folder access?
My app uses iCloud to let users sync their files via their private iCloud Drive, which does not use CloudKit. FileManager.default.url(forUbiquityContainerIdentifier: nil)?.appending(component: "Documents") I plan to transfer my app to another developer account, but I'm afraid it will affect the access of the app to the existing files in that folder. Apple documentation doesn't mention this case. Has anyone done this before and can confirm if the app will continue to work normally after transferring? Thanks

ContactAccessButton presents invisible sheet
On a device with approx 800 contacts, the sheet presented when tapping ContactAccessButton with multiple matches briefly appears (.25 seconds) before disappearing, leaving the view below in a dimmed, slightly zoomed out, non-interactive state as if a sheet were being presented. Inquiry regarding StoreKit Messages for Free Trial Conversion and Recurring Payment Consent in South Korea
Dear Apple Developer Support, Our iOS application offers subscriptions with a free trial period. We understand that in South Korea, due to local subscription regulations, users must explicitly provide consent for recurring payments before the subscription converts from a free trial to a paid period. We have the following questions regarding how StoreKit handles this scenario: When a free trial is about to convert to a paid subscription for a user in South Korea, does StoreKit send a StoreKit.Message (or SKStorefront.Message) to the application to obtain the required consent for recurring payments? If such a message is sent, would the Reason for this message be StoreKit.Message.Reason.priceIncreaseConsent, or would it be another specific reason related to initial recurring payment consent after a trial? If our application receives such a message and we choose to defer its display, what is the maximum recommended or permissible deferral period? Is it possible to save the data of a received StoreKit.Message and display it to the user at a later time, for instance, after the application has been closed and subsequently reopened? Are there any best practices or limitations regarding this? We need this information to ensure our application correctly handles these consent requirements in compliance with South Korean policies and provides a smooth user experience. Thank you for your guidance.

SwiftData 100% crash when fetching history with codable (test included!)
SwiftData crashes 100% when fetching history of a model that contains an optional codable property that's updated: SwiftData/Schema.swift:389: Fatal error: Failed to materialize a keypath for someCodableID.someID from CrashModel. It is possible that this path traverses a type that does not work with append(), please file a bug report with a test. Would really appreciate some help or even a workaround. Sandbox Url Not Receiving App Store Server Notifications
I have an Expo React Native application and I am using react-native-iap library. I have setup the URL for sandbox and production url to receive notifications when a something happens regarding subscriptions. I am not able to receive those notifications when I simulate the purchase on the Simulator using Xcode. I then have used the node library app-store-server-library to mock a test notification and I am receiving the test notification when I call requestTestNotification method. below is the react-native code I am using: import {useEffect, useState} from "react"; import { initConnection, Sku, Subscription, useIAP, SubscriptionIOS, requestSubscription, PurchaseError, clearTransactionIOS } from "react-native-iap"; import styles from "@/screens/IAP/IAPStyles"; import CustomText from "@/components/CustomText"; import Heading from "@/components/Heading"; import subscriptionsProducts from "@/utilities/products"; function IAPScreen() { const [isPurchasing, setIsPurchasing] = useState<boolean>(false); const [loading, setLoading] = useState<boolean>(false); const { subscriptions, currentPurchase, finishTransaction, getSubscriptions } = useIAP(); function RenderProduct({ item } : { item: Subscription }) { const iosSubscription: SubscriptionIOS = item as SubscriptionIOS; return( <View style={styles.productCard}> <CustomText customStyles={styles.productTitle} text={iosSubscription.title} size={"medium"} /> <CustomText customStyles={styles.productDescription} text={iosSubscription.description} size={"small"} /> <CustomText customStyles={styles.productPrice} text={iosSubscription.localizedPrice} size={"small"} /> <Button title="Purchase" disabled={isPurchasing} onPress={ () => HandlePurchase(iosSubscription.productId) } /> </View> ); } async function HandlePurchase(sku: Sku) { try { setIsPurchasing(true); await requestSubscription({ sku, andDangerouslyFinishTransactionAutomaticallyIOS: false }); } catch (error: any) { Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to purchase: " + error.message); } finally { setIsPurchasing(false); } } useEffect(() => { setLoading(true); console.log(`[${new Date().toISOString()}] Initializing IAP connection...`); const setupIAP = async () => { try { const result = await initConnection(); console.log(`[${new Date().toISOString()}] IAP connection initialized:`, result); await clearTransactionIOS(); await getSubscriptions({ skus: subscriptionsProducts }); } catch (error: any) { Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to load products: " + error.message); } finally { setLoading(false); } }; setupIAP() .finally(() => setLoading(false)); }, []); useEffect(() => { const checkCurrentPurchase = async () => { try { if(currentPurchase?.productId) { console.log("Current purchase: ", currentPurchase); console.log("Transaction Id: ", currentPurchase.transactionId); await finishTransaction({ purchase: currentPurchase, isConsumable: false, }); } } catch (error) { if(error instanceof PurchaseError) { console.log("Purchase error: ", error); } else { Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to finish transaction: " + error); } } } if(currentPurchase) { console.log("Finishing current purchase."); checkCurrentPurchase() .catch(error => Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to finish transaction: " + error.message)); } }, [currentPurchase, finishTransaction]); return( <View style={styles.mainContainer}> <Heading text={"Packages & Subscriptions"} type={"h2"} customStyles={styles.header} /> { loading ? <ActivityIndicator size="large" /> : subscriptions.length > 0 ? ( <> <FlatList data={subscriptions} renderItem={RenderProduct} keyExtractor={(item) => item.productId} /> </> ) : ( <CustomText customStyles={styles.productDescription} text={"No available products."} size={"small"} /> ) } </View> ); } export default IAPScreen; I am using a store kit file where I just edited the scheme of application to use that store kit file. I would be really thankful If you can help me in this matter.

Is there an API to programmatically obtain an XPC Service's execution context?
Hello! I'm writing a System Extension that is an Endpoint Security client. And I want to Deny/Allow executing some XPC Service processes (using the ES_EVENT_TYPE_AUTH_EXEC event) depending on characteristics of a process that starts the XPC Service. For this purpose, I need an API that could allow me to obtain an execution context of the XPC Service process. I can obtain this information using the "sudo launchctl procinfo <pid>" command (e.g. I can use the "domain = pid/3428" part of the output for this purpose). Also, I know that when the xpcproxy process is started, it gets as the arguments a service name and a pid of the process that requests the service so I can grasp the execution context from xpcproxy launching. But are these ways to obtain this info legitimate?

Issues with Integration of Promotional Offers in React Native app
Hi All, We are trying to integrate Promotional Offer in our app, We have a React Native app and are using react-native-iap for handling our in app purchases, as per the documentation we are generating signature in our BE and passing the proper details to the function as well, but for subscription request which have offer applied we are getting the apple pop up properly as well with offer details but when trying to subscribe it gives us SKErrroDomain: 12, for subscription without applying offer the subscription goes through but when we apply the offer we get the above error. Our app is currently in Development Stages and has not been sent for review sam for our subscription plans as well. Please let me know what could be the probable cause for this and help us resolve the issue. This is the code snippet of ours for the front end : export const buySubscription = async (subscriptionData: any) => { try { if (subscriptionData.offer_id) { const response = await getSubscriptionSignature( subscriptionData.productId, subscriptionData.offer_id, ); const offerData = response?.data; const offer = { identifier: offerData?.offer_id, keyIdentifier: offerData?.key_id, nonce: offerData?.nonce, signature: offerData?.signature, timestamp: Number(offerData?.timestamp), }; await requestSubscription({ sku: subscriptionData.productId, withOffer: offer, }); } else { await requestSubscription({ sku: subscriptionData.productId }); } } catch (err) { logger.error('Subscription error: ' + JSON.stringify(err)); throw err; } }; and
from my python Backend which generates the signature:

def generate_signature(self, product_id: str, offer_id: str) -> dict: """ Generate signature for Apple StoreKit promotional offers. Args: product_id: The product identifier from App Store Connect offer_id: The promotional offer identifier Returns: dict: Contains signature and required metadata Reference: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/in-app_purchase/original_api_for_in-app_purchase/subscriptions_and_offers/implementing_promotional_offers_in_your_app """ try: # Generate UUID without dashes and use as nonce nonce = str(uuid.uuid4()) timestamp = get_current_time_ms() # milliseconds # Create the payload string in exact order required by Apple payload_components = [ self.bundle_id, # App Bundle ID self.key_id, # Key ID from App Store Connect product_id, # Product identifier offer_id, # Promotional offer identifier nonce, # UUID without dashes str(timestamp) # Current timestamp in milliseconds ] payload_str = "\u2063".join(payload_components) # Use Unicode separator logger.debug(f"Signing payload: {payload_str}") # Create SHA256 hash of the payload digest = hashes.Hash(hashes.SHA256()) digest.update(payload_str.encode('utf-8')) payload_hash = digest.finalize() # Sign the hash using ES256 (ECDSA with SHA-256) signature = self.private_key.sign( data=payload_hash, signature_algorithm=ec.ECDSA(hashes.SHA256()) ) # Encode signature in base64 signature_b64 = base64.b64encode(signature).decode('utf-8') logger.info(f"Generated signature for product {product_id} and offer {offer_id}") return { "key_id": self.key_id, # Changed to match Apple's naming "nonce": nonce, # UUID without dashes "timestamp": timestamp, # As integer "signature": signature_b64, # Base64 encoded signature "product_id": product_id, # Changed to match Apple's naming "offer_id": offer_id # Changed to match Apple's naming } except Exception as e: logger.error(f"Failed to generate signature: {str(e)}") raise HTTPException( status_code=500, detail=f"Failed to generate signature: {str(e)}" )

Not receiving App Store Server Notifications for failed transactions
We are currently integrating In-App Purchases for our app and have configured App Store Server Notifications (v2) in the Sandbox environment. During testing, we observed the following issue: When a transaction is cancelled, declined, or pending (e.g., Ask to Buy flows or authorization pending), No App Store Server Notification is sent to our webhook endpoint. We only receive webhook events where the status is "purchased". This becomes a critical problem for us because our backend must accurately track transaction states including failed and pending purchases, especially for wallet top-up use cases. Additionally, we tried mocking failed transactions (via Xcode local environment and turning off In-App Purchases from Developer Settings) to simulate a technical failure scenario. Even in these cases, no webhook notification was received when the purchase failed server-side. Is it expected behavior in Sandbox that only successful transactions ("purchased") trigger webhooks? Are failed or pending transactions suppressed in Sandbox intentionally? Will webhook behavior be different in Production (i.e., will we receive webhook notifications for failures there)? Is there any extra configuration or entitlement needed to fully test failure scenarios via webhooks in Sandbox?

`sdpQueryComplete:status:` not being called
I try to refresh the SDP data for a Bluetooth device that has reconnected. So when I receive connect notification I call -[IOBluetoothDevice performSDPQuery:] passing object, that should receive the query completion call. What I observe is that sdpQueryComplete:status: is not being called, buit calling performSDPQuery causes additional connect notification to be dispatched. Running this under debugger results in some weird log line: [IOBluetooth] **** This currently won't trigger SDP delegate I run this code on Sequoia 15.5

Translation API & Download Language Sheet
Using Apple SwiftUI Translate library: when calling: try await session.prepareTranslation() the first time, the API's Language Download sheet does not show (or shows briefly and dismisses immediately) Even when the sheet doesn't show, the keyboard is lowered, as though the sheet would be appearing, but then the keyboard raises as though the sheet was dismissed. The following Errors are printed in the console dozens of times; but on all subsequent executions, the API Language Download sheet shows as expected. Prevent my app from background activity
When I search, it's always people trying to do stuff in the background. I want my app to only do stuff when it is active. And this post https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/685525 seems to have prevented replies from the start. Which means it's just a documentation page and does not belong in the discussion forums at all, because it prevents all discussion.

Audio Session in Notification Service Extension
Is there anyway that I could use AVAudioSession, AVAudioPlayer or anything similar in Notification Service Extension? I am trying to implement Audio Playback in the Notification Service Extension to play specific audio file when receiving Notification regardless the app state(foreground, background or killed), but I am not able to activate audio session in Notification Service Extension. NSError *sessionError = nil; BOOL success = [[AVAudioSession sharedInstance] setCategory:AVAudioSessionCategoryPlayback error:&sessionError]; success = [[AVAudioSession sharedInstance] setActive:YES error:&sessionError]; if (!success) { NSLog(@"Error activating audio session: %@", sessionError); } Below is the error that I got when I am trying to run the code above in Notification Service Extension. Thunderbolt PCIe 4-devices by daisy chain connection problem
Hello everyone I have been developing PCIe device driver through Thunderbolt. However, it was confirmed that up to three devices connected to the daisy chain worked normally, but the fourth device failed to operate the _CopyDeviceMemoryWithIndex() function for connection with the BAR0 App and did not work properly. The standard specification of Thunderbolt 3/4 is said to be supported by daisy chain connection up to 6 units, but in reality, it is only 3 units, so I ask the forum for technical confirmation. Of course total 4 device by 2-port x 2-device daisy chain connecting has working well. And the PCI entry in System information app indicates that all devices have normal load of the PCIe device driver.

Thanks

Code: import Foundation import SwiftData import Testing struct VaultsSwiftDataKnownIssuesTests { @Test func testCodableCrashInHistoryFetch() async throws { let container = try ModelContainer( for: CrashModel.self, configurations: .init( isStoredInMemoryOnly: true ) ) let context = ModelContext(container) try SimpleHistoryChecker.hasLocalHistoryChanges(context: context) // 1: insert a new value and save let model = CrashModel() model.someCodableID = SomeCodableID(someID: "testid1") context.insert(model) try context.save() // 2: check history it's fine. try SimpleHistoryChecker.hasLocalHistoryChanges(context: context) // 3: update the inserted value before then save model.someCodableID = SomeCodableID(someID: "testid2") try context.save() // The next check will always crash on fetchHistory with this error: /* SwiftData/Schema.swift:389: Fatal error: Failed to materialize a keypath for someCodableID.someID from CrashModel. Sandbox Url Not Receiving App Store Server Notifications
I have an Expo React Native application and I am using react-native-iap library. I have setup the URL for sandbox and production url to receive notifications when a something happens regarding subscriptions. I am not able to receive those notifications when I simulate the purchase on the Simulator using Xcode. I then have used the node library app-store-server-library to mock a test notification and I am receiving the test notification when I call requestTestNotification method. below is the react-native code I am using: import {useEffect, useState} from "react"; import { initConnection, Sku, Subscription, useIAP, SubscriptionIOS, requestSubscription, PurchaseError, clearTransactionIOS } from "react-native-iap"; import styles from "@/screens/IAP/IAPStyles"; import CustomText from "@/components/CustomText"; import Heading from "@/components/Heading"; import subscriptionsProducts from "@/utilities/products"; function IAPScreen() { const [isPurchasing, setIsPurchasing] = useState<boolean>(false); const [loading, setLoading] = useState<boolean>(false); const { subscriptions, currentPurchase, finishTransaction, getSubscriptions } = useIAP(); function RenderProduct({ item } : { item: Subscription }) { const iosSubscription: SubscriptionIOS = item as SubscriptionIOS; return( <View style={styles.productCard}> <CustomText customStyles={styles.productTitle} text={iosSubscription.title} size={"medium"} /> <CustomText customStyles={styles.productDescription} text={iosSubscription.description} size={"small"} /> <CustomText customStyles={styles.productPrice} text={iosSubscription.localizedPrice} size={"small"} /> <Button title="Purchase" disabled={isPurchasing} onPress={ () => HandlePurchase(iosSubscription.productId) } /> </View> ); } async function HandlePurchase(sku: Sku) { try { setIsPurchasing(true); await requestSubscription({ sku, andDangerouslyFinishTransactionAutomaticallyIOS: false }); } catch (error: any) { Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to purchase: " + error.message); } finally { setIsPurchasing(false); } } useEffect(() => { setLoading(true); console.log(`[${new Date().toISOString()}] Initializing IAP connection...`); const setupIAP = async () => { try { const result = await initConnection(); console.log(`[${new Date().toISOString()}] IAP connection initialized:`, result); await clearTransactionIOS(); await getSubscriptions({ skus: subscriptionsProducts }); } catch (error: any) { Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to load products: " + error.message); } finally { setLoading(false); } }; setupIAP() .finally(() => setLoading(false)); }, []); useEffect(() => { const checkCurrentPurchase = async () => { try { if(currentPurchase?.productId) { console.log("Current purchase: ", currentPurchase); console.log("Transaction Id: ", currentPurchase.transactionId); await finishTransaction({ purchase: currentPurchase, isConsumable: false, }); } } catch (error) { if(error instanceof PurchaseError) { console.log("Purchase error: ", error); } else { Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to finish transaction: " + error); } } } if(currentPurchase) { console.log("Finishing current purchase."); checkCurrentPurchase() .catch(error => Alert.alert("Error", "Failed to finish transaction: " + error.message)); } }, [currentPurchase, finishTransaction]); return( <View style={styles.mainContainer}> <Heading text={"Packages & Subscriptions"} type={"h2"} customStyles={styles.header} /> { loading ? <ActivityIndicator size="large" /> : subscriptions.length > 0 ? ( <> <FlatList data={subscriptions} renderItem={RenderProduct} keyExtractor={(item) => item.productId} /> </> ) : ( <CustomText customStyles={styles.productDescription} text={"No available products."} size={"small"} /> ) } </View> ); } export default IAPScreen; I am using a store kit file where I just edited the scheme of application to use that store kit file. I would be really thankful If you can help me in this matter.
