CarPlay CPListImageRowItem causes Inverted Scrolling and Side Button malfunction
In my CarPlaySceneDelegate.swift, I have two tabs: The first tab uses a CPListImageRowItem with a CPListImageRowItemRowElement. The scroll direction is inverted, and the side button does not function correctly. The second tab uses multiple CPListItem objects. There are no issues: scrolling works in the correct direction, and the side button behaves as expected. Steps To Reproduce Launch the app. Connect to CarPlay. In the first tab, scroll up and down, then use the side button to navigate. In the second tab, scroll up and down, then use the side button to navigate. As observed, the scrolling behavior is different between the two tabs. Code Example: import CarPlay import UIKit class CarPlaySceneDelegate: UIResponder, CPTemplateApplicationSceneDelegate { var interfaceController: CPInterfaceController? func templateApplicationScene( _ templateApplicationScene: CPTemplateApplicationScene, didConnect interfaceController: CPInterfaceController ) { self.interfaceController = interfaceController downloadImageAndSetupTemplates() } func templateApplicationScene( _ templateApplicationScene: CPTemplateApplicationScene, didDisconnectInterfaceController interfaceController: CPInterfaceController ) { self.interfaceController = nil } private func downloadImageAndSetupTemplates() { let urlString = "https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRcYUjd1FYkF04-8Vb7PKI1mGoF2quLPHKjvnR7V4ReZR8UjW-0NJ_kC7q13eISZGoTCLHaDPVbOthhH9QNq-YA0uuSUjfAoB3PPs1aXQ&s=10" guard let url = URL(string: urlString) else { setupTemplates(with: UIImage(systemName: "photo")!) return } URLSession.shared.dataTask(with: url) { [weak self] data, _, _ in let image: UIImage if let data = data, let downloaded = UIImage(data: data) { image = downloaded } else { image = UIImage(systemName: "photo")! } DispatchQueue.main.async { self?.setupTemplates(with: image) } }.resume() } private func setupTemplates(with image: UIImage) { // Tab 1 : un seul CPListImageRowItem avec 12 CPListImageRowItemRowElement let elements: [CPListImageRowItemRowElement] = (1...12).map { index in CPListImageRowItemRowElement(image: image, title: "test \(index)", subtitle: nil) } let rowItem = CPListImageRowItem(text: "Images", elements: elements, allowsMultipleLines: true) rowItem.listImageRowHandler = { item, elementIndex, completion in print("tapped element \(elementIndex)") completion() } let tab1Section = CPListSection(items: [rowItem]) let tab1Template = CPListTemplate(title: "CPListImageRowItemRowElement", sections: [tab1Section]) // Tab 2 : 12 CPListItem simples let tab2Items: [CPListItem] = (1...12).map { index in let item = CPListItem(text: "Item \(index)", detailText: "Detail \(index)") item.handler = { _, completion in print("handler Tab 2") completion() } return item } let tab2Section = CPListSection(items: tab2Items) let tab2Template = CPListTemplate(title: "CPListItem", sections: [tab2Section]) // CPTabBarTemplate avec les deux tabs let tabBar = CPTabBarTemplate(templates: [tab1Template, tab2Template]) interfaceController?.setRootTemplate(tabBar, animated: true) } } Here is a quick video:

CarPlay navigation guidance panel with red color in iOS 26.4
When upgrading to iOS 26.4, the guidance panel in CPMapTemplate is displayed in a striking red color. This happens with App Store version of the app which was compiled with iOS 26.2. Up to iOS 26.4 this panel has always been shown with a color which matches the ETA view below, in a dark gray. Compiling the app with iOS 26.4 makes nos difference. I have checked my code and I cannot see anything on my side which can trigger this change in the colour and only for iOS 26.4. I thought of restoring the old behaviour by using the property guidanceBackgroundColor in CPMapTemplate. But although I have tried to use a gray, I still get the red color. Is this the intended color in iOS 26.4? Is it a bug? Is there a way to use a custom color which matches the left and ETA panels? Thank you.

React Native iOS TextInput autofill bar goes blank/flickers while editing username field
I’m seeing a weird iOS Password AutoFill behavior in React Native and I’m trying to figure out whether this is: expected iOS behavior, a known React Native TextInput issue, or something I can work around. Setup: React Native 0.81.5 iOS app with Associated Domains configured and working Password AutoFill generally works fine two fields on a login screen: username/email: autoComplete="username" password: autoComplete="current-password" What happens: when the login screen opens, the iOS autofill bar above the keyboard shows the saved credential suggestion as expected as soon as I type a single character into the username field, the autofill bar goes blank instead of continuing to show a suggestion if I press delete while the field is already empty, the autofill suggestion flickers Important detail: autofill itself is not completely broken Associated Domains are set up and credential suggestions do appear the issue is specifically the unstable behavior of the autofill bar while editing Question: has anyone seen this with React Native TextInput on iOS? is this just how iOS reevaluates credential suggestions once the username starts changing? or is there a known RN-side trigger here, for example controlled inputs, secureTextEntry, rerenders, focus changes, or textContentType / autoComplete combinations?

AVCaptureVideoDataOutput stops zooming while AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer continues — physical wide / ultra-wide / telephoto only
We use a single AVCaptureSession with AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer and AVCaptureVideoDataOutput (preview-sized buffers, BGRA). When we increase videoZoomFactor, beyond a certain zoom level the image from AVCaptureVideoDataOutput no longer zooms further, while AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer continues to zoom with the same zoom control. The preview and the video-data output therefore diverge. This behavior appears when the active camera is a physical lens device — wide, ultra-wide, or telephoto (e.g. builtInWideAngleCamera, builtInUltraWideCamera, builtInTelephotoCamera, or similar). It does not appear when the active input is a virtual / multi-camera (e.g. triple camera, dual-wide, or other system multi-camera). Are there known conditions under which this mismatch between preview and video-data output is expected? Thank you.

How to use CPTabBarTemplate on navigation apps?
According to the CarPlay developer guide navigation apps are allowed to use the CPTabBarTemplate. Thing is that navigation apps most likely use a CPMapTemplate as root template already, so how should the CPTabBarTemplate be used then? Setting a new root with a CPTabBarTemplate will probably break ongoing navigation and CPTabBarTemplate can't be pushed.

Sheet background in share extension ignores Liquid Glass effect in iOS 26/Xcode 26
I’m developing a share extension for iOS 26 with Xcode 26. When the extension’s sheet appears, it always shows a full white background, even though iOS 26 introduces a new “Liquid Glass” effect for partial sheets. Expected: The sheet background should use the iOS 26 glassmorphism effect as seen in full apps. Actual behavior: Custom sheets in my app get the glass effect, but the native system sheet in the share extension always opens as plain white. Steps to reproduce: Create a share extension using UIKit Present any UIViewController as the main view Set modalPresentationStyle = .pageSheet (or leave as default) Observe solid white background, not glassmorphism Sample code: swift override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() view.backgroundColor = .clear preferredContentSize = CGSize(width: UIScreen.main.bounds.width, height: 300) } Troubleshooting attempted: Tried adding UIVisualEffectView with system blur/materials Removed all custom backgrounds Set modalPresentationStyle explicitly Questions: Is it possible to enable or force the Liquid Glass effect in share extensions on iOS 26? Is this a limitation by design or a potential bug? Any workaround to make extension sheet backgrounds match system glass appearance?

CarPlay CPGridTemplate corrupt items
For some reason, Carplay 18.x works fine, however in under certain situations in our app, Carplay 26.x breaks. The expected grid layout should be : However, this is what we see in some cases when we update our templates. I have not been able to isolate the cause of this issue. Has anyone ever seen this happen on their CarPlay apps and discovered the cause? The data sets fed into the templates are identical, the difference is in some of the timing and update order...

Update FreeType to support the new Chinese font format
Beginning with macOS Sonoma, Apple introduced a novel font format for rendering Chinese text. Apps that use third-party libraries for text rendering continued to function, primarily without disruption, owing to some workarounds provided by the operating system. FreeType, one of the most widely used cross-platform libraries for text rendering, now supports this new format. Apps that use this library, regardless of whether they encountered issues with Chinese text or not, should update to the latest FreeType source from their git repository (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/freetype/freetype), as this support is not yet available in a tagged release. Updating ensures that apps operate optimally with Chinese text as well as any other language that uses this new format. Because this support calls into Apple APIs that Apple introduced in macOS 15.4, iOS 18.4, and aligned watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS releases, set the deployment target when building FreeType to match that of your own app. This ensures that the new API calls fail gracefully on older OS versions rather than causing your app to crash on systems where those APIs are not available.

CPListImageRowItem layout issue with 3 items on iOS < 26 (UI lag when using imageTitles)
Description: I’m using CPListTemplate and creating rows with CPListImageRowItem using the following initializer: if #available(iOS 17.4, *) { self.init(text: titleList, images: imagesRow, imageTitles: titlesRow) } Problem: When displaying 3 items instead of 4, on iOS versions below 26, the items are automatically stretched to fill the available width. This leads to a serious issue: The UI becomes laggy when interacting with the control buttons on the right The interface “jumps” and behaves inconsistently After investigating, I found that: If imageTitles is set to nil, the issue disappears and everything works smoothly Behavior difference: On iOS 26, this issue does not occur Items are no longer stretched when there are only 3 — instead, empty space remains on the right Questions: Is this a known issue or expected behavior on older iOS versions? Is there a recommended workaround besides setting imageTitles = nil?

Third-party credential manager not appearing in Apple Passwords "Export Data to Another App" list — iOS 26
Hi, I'm building a third-party credential manager app and trying to get it listed as an eligible destination in Apple Passwords → Export Data to Another App on iOS 26 / macOS 26. The app never appears in the list, even on a physical device. What I've implemented so far: The main app and the Credential Provider Extension both have the com.apple.developer.authentication-services.autofill-credential-provider entitlement set. The extension's Info.plist has ASCredentialProviderExtensionCapabilities nested correctly under NSExtension → NSExtensionAttributes, with ProvidesPasskeys and ProvidesPasswords both set to true. Both targets share the same App Group. The extension is visible and selectable under Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords — so the extension itself is working. I've also added ASCredentialImportManager and ASCredentialExportManager support to the app based on the AuthenticationServices SDK interfaces in Xcode 26. The specific question: What is the actual eligibility criteria for appearing in the "Export Data to Another App" destination list in Apple Passwords? Is there a specific Info.plist key, entitlement, or capability declaration required beyond what's already needed for the Credential Provider Extension? The WWDC25 session (279) mentions ASCredentialExportManager and ASCredentialImportManager but doesn't describe the discovery mechanism that determines which apps are listed. Currently, only Google Chrome appear in the list on my test device. I'd like to understand whether this is a capability/entitlement issue, an App Store review requirement, or a beta limitation that will open up later. Any guidance from the team would be greatly appreciated.

Create a font or font like set by choosing glyphs, transforming them, and putting the result into a structure?
My basic need is that I have unicode symbols which compose to a marked musical note. I'd like that note to be rotated upside down. Obviously, I could do this by sticking each into a View of some sort, and applying rotation effect. Indeed, I've done this for the part of my app where these notes are the labels of Buttons. However, the results of pressing the buttons need to be displayed, and on most of my app, this is a simple String. However, I can find no way to rotate individual glyphs of a String. And I'm not keen to write a compositor to layout View like glyphs in a String. Is there a way to make a font by finding individual glyphs, doing the transform, and packaging them into a new specialized font, without needed to use an external Font making application?

UI Testing for iPadOS 26 Menu Bar items
I need to validate whether specific menu items are correctly enabled/disabled. The XCUIAutomation elements for my menu items do not appear in the tree shown by displaying the XCUIApplication object in the debugger when building and testing the iPadOS version of my application. When running the application in an iPad simulator, I can make the menu bar appear by swiping down. The testing works as expected for the MacOS build and test. I did try to use the recording feature, but was not successful in creating a series of commands that worked for a test run.

Cross-domain issue in wkwebview
Subject: Cross-Domain Access Behaviour in WKWebView – Clarification Required Description: We are facing a cross-domain issue in our iOS application where WKWebView loads content from one domain and attempts to access resources/data from another domain. Current Setup: App Platform: iOS WebView: WKWebView iOS Version: 26 Primary Domain: *.franconnectqa.net Data/Analytics Domain: analytics.franconnectdev.net SSL: Valid certificates configured ATS: Enabled Issue: When WKWebView loads content from franconnectqa.net, it attempts to access resources or analytics from analytics.franconnectdev.net, resulting in cross-domain restrictions. We would like to understand: Does WKWebView support cross-domain resource access by default? Are there any configuration settings that allow controlled cross-domain access? Are there known limitations regarding cookies, local storage, or session sharing across domains? Does WKWebView enforce additional restrictions beyond standard browser CORS policies? Are there recommended best practices for handling cross-domain scenarios in WKWebView? Expected Behavior: We want to determine whether: Cross-domain access is supported under certain configurations, OR The recommended approach is to align all resources under the same domain. Kindly provide guidance on the supported architecture and any configuration recommendations.

Question: How to support landscape-only on iPad app after 'Support for all orientations will soon be required' warning
Dear Apple Customer Support, I’m developing a new Swift iPadOS app and I want the app to run in landscape only (portrait disabled). In Xcode, under Target > General > Deployment Info > Device Orientation, if I select only Landscape Left and Landscape Right, the app builds successfully, but during upload/validation I receive this message and the upload is blocked: “Update the Info.plist: Support for all orientations will soon be required.” Could you please advise what the correct/recommended way is to keep an iPad app locked to landscape only while complying with the current App Store upload requirements? Is there a specific Info.plist configuration (e.g., UISupportedInterfaceOrientations~ipad) or another setting that should be used? Thank you,

Thank you,
