Since the transition to iOS 18.4, we have been having an issue where when loading an m3u8 file specified in the src attribute of a video tag in WKWebView, the ts file is loaded repeatedly. Are there any good ideas for this? Also, if there have been any changes to the specifications of WKWebView, we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

I recently noticed that putting the app on background for some time, then switching back to it again causes the WKWebView to reload the current page, same with just hitting f5 on it. How do we disable this behavior?

Hello! I have a few questions about integrating an OAuth2 API into my Swift application. I am using this API to access user data from the website (users will authenticate themselves within the app). I have seen other apps use this API in the way that I am describing it so I know that it is possible. However, I am not sure how to implement it. Are there any recommended ways to use an OAuth2 API in my application? The API that I am using does not specifically say that it supports PKCE. However, I have heard from some sources that it does. If it does not support PKCE, how do I still create a secure app infrastructure that will pass App Store Review? At a more basic level, what is the difference between OAuth2 and PKCE? What should I use in my app? Are there any resources to learn a little bit more about these protocols so that I understand them better? Thanks!

I've been using Sign In with Apple for Web for the last six months, and it works well enough. Now, I'm updating the domain of the main application (we got the .com! yeah!) However, I can't find a way in the configuration UI to update the allowed redirect URLs for the application. I go to Identifiers -> My App -> Capabilities -> Sign In with Apple -> Edit button. It just allows me to edit whether this is a primary ID, or grouped ID, plus a callback URL (which I'm not currently using.)

I’ve been working on a personal iOS project for fun — essentially a YouTube music player, learning how background media playback works in native iOS apps. After seeing that Musi (a famous music streaming app) can play YouTube audio in the background with the screen off — I got really curious. I’ve been trying to replicate that basic background audio functionality for YouTube embeds using WKWebView. I've spent a crazy amount of time (probably 20 hours) trying to figure this out but have achieved no success. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: -Embedding a YouTube video in a WKWebView -Activating AVAudioSession with .playback and setting .setActive(true) -Adding the UIBackgroundModes key with audio in Info.plist -Adding the NSAppTransportSecurity key to allow arbitrary loads --Testing on a real device (iPhone 14, iOS 18.1 target)-- What happens: Audio plays fine in the foreground. If I exit the app and go to the lock screen quickly enough (less than 3 seconds) after pressing play, I can resume playback briefly from the lock screen — but it doesn’t automatically continue like in Musi and other apps like it. Most of the time, the audio stops when the app is backgrounded. MacOS: 12 ( Monterrey ) Safari: 17.6 Demo Site: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/ At the bottom where the Apple Pay button should appear, I see a warning something like "This browser doesn't support Apple Pay, please use safari" along with a link to requirements for apple pay. All the requirements are fulfilled, OS and Safari's version are above the minimum required. Link was opened in Safari. And the other thing is if I open the same site in Chrome, I can see the apple pay button and when I click on it a QR appears which is the expected behaviour. How to resolve this?

I have a Safari extension that plays audio via the javascript AudioContext API. It was working fine under iOS 17 and is now broken under iOS 18. It does not play audio at all. I've tried in both the iOS 18 public beta and the iOS 18.1 developer beta. It is broken in both of them. I've also created Feedback item FB15170620 which has a url attached to a page I created which demonstrates the issue.

If the site is opened in Safari in normal mode, everything works as expected. However, if the site is "docked", the messages are not transmitted to this "Web App".

However, this error is not shown on the frontend, leaving users unaware of why the form silently fails or stalls. Steps to Reproduce Go to the Apple ID account creation page (https://appleid.apple.com/account). Enter valid account details where the password includes the user's first or last name (e.g., Johnacb2331!l for a user named John Doe). Complete all fields, including phone number verification and captcha. Submit the form and monitor the Network tab in your browser’s DevTools. Observe that the form appears to hang, loop, or silently fail. Open the PUT request to /account — the response JSON will contain the relevant validation error (e.g., “Password cannot contain your name”), but the user is not shown this. Expected Behavior The password validation error (e.g., containing the user’s name) should be immediately displayed in the UI next to the password field to inform the user and allow for correction. Actual Behavior No error is shown in the UI. The form appears to fail silently, leaving the user confused. The actual reason for failure is only visible through browser developer tools in the PUT response payload. Hi Developers, I am working on a small project and I noticed that my website header looks different in Safari on macOS compared to Windows browsers like Chrome and Edge. In Safari, the header text and spacing look slightly shifted (screenshot attached). On Windows browsers, everything looks perfectly aligned. I understand that you want echoCancellation and noiseSuppression in most cases, but I would like to be able to turn off all the filter processes for this particular use case. When I set echoCancellation: false in navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia, Safari 26 on MacOS produces stereo recording even if I set channelCount: 1. When I set echoCancellation: true, it produces mono recording as expected. How can I get mono recording with echoCancellation: false and channelCount: 1? Thanks!

In my application, I use HTML pages to display the interface. Since it’s a cross-platform app, the pages and interactions work properly on other platforms. However, in WebKit, because HTTPS protocol is used, JS requests from the page cannot use the ws protocol but must use the wss protocol under HTTPS. Is there any way to allow a webpage under HTTPS to use ws requests normally? Google Chrome can do this.

I'm trying to load a webpage in that application through our plugin using a WKWebView & I set my class as the navigationDelegate for the same. I do not receive any callbacks for the WKNavigationDelegate methods. I have debugged & made sure that the navigationDelegate is actually set to my class. Our Current (Rejected) Implementation: User taps a "Help" button in our native app. A native modal appears inside our app where the user enters their donation amount and email address for the receipt. The user clicks "Donate," which then opens an SFSafariViewController to our website's payment page (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). The amount and email are passed as URL parameters to pre-fill the form. Our Questions for the Community: Is the issue solely the fact that we have a native modal for data entry? We understand we cannot process the payment in-app, but we thought collecting the intent (amount, email) was acceptable before handing off to Safari. What is the definitive, compliant flow? I have a WKWebView that contains a js text editor, built on top of a content editable div. Currently, inline predictions on Mac break the text editors functionality significantly every time there's a prediction. There's not a way for me to fix this on the js side unless I can know when a prediction is shown. We confirmed a problem at Safari on iPadOS 18.2 or after version. For confirmation, we made a HTML document (see below HTML1) what include ‘method="POST" target="_blank"’ and tested the form however server received GET method and there is no parameter, server did not receive “id” parameter. We confirmed that fact in captured packet and log file that on the server. HTML1: We also made another HTML document (see below HTML2) what include submit button, but the server received GET method as above. HTML2: And we also confirmed that it behaves differently depending on the network environment. If the form targets a name that does not exist (ex. target=” A12345”), behaves differently http or https. http: Safari opened new tag, but the server received GET method. Normally, Safari open new tag and the server receive POST method. https: Safari opened new tag, and the server received POST method. It is normally. If the form targets ‘_blank’, the server received GET method on http or https both. We think Safari change the method POST to GET and delete parameters. It is not conformed to the HTML specification if is that true. We confirmed it was not happened at Safari on iPadOS 17.4, and Windows PC (Edge, Chrome). The method what the server received is POST.
