Safari App crashes when running with Safari extension intermittently
I have observed Safari App starts crashing when running with my safari extension. Our Safari extension polls the host app every 60s. Simulator 18.4 Webview CORS issues
I have a very specific issue that happens only on iOS Simulator version 18.4. It does NOT happen when I run my app on a real iOS 18.4 device through Testflight. My app displays a WebView (courtesy of Capacitor, url scheme capacitor://). Inside that Webview I'm using Firebase JS API (11.2.0) and calling signInWithEmailAndPassword, which works well in all other contexts, i.e. browser, Android webview, iOS webview in all other Simulator versions, and on real devices. Only when running in Simulator 18.4, I get a failed network request: cannot parse response Fetch API cannot load https://identitytoolkit.googleapis.com/v1/accounts:signInWithPassword?... due to access control checks. Failed to load resource: cannot parse reponse error: FirebaseError: (auth/network-request-failed) Everything is working correctly for both: Capacitor app webview installed on a real 18.4 device with Testflight Safari (non-webview) in the 18.4 Simulator The issue is severe for us, because we are unable to develop our app and test it in the simulator on 18.4 Simulator before pushing it through Testflight internal release. Request headers on the failed request (no response status or headers available). On iOS 26 beta8, if a view's subview contains a WKWebView, using the CALayer's renderInContext method fails to capture the pixel
I’m experiencing an issue in WKWebView on iOS 26 Developer Beta 8. If a view's subview contains a WKWebView, using the CALayer's renderInContext method fails to capture the pixel at the current point, and the console outputs "unsupported surface format: &b38". The following code snippet was functioning as expected on iOS 18 and iOS 26 beta 1. However, it no longer works in the latest beta. Is this a known bug in the current iOS 26 betas, or is there a recommended workaround? - (BOOL)isTransparentAtTouchPoint:(CGPoint)point layer:(CALayer *)layer { unsigned char pixel[4] = {0}; CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGContextRef context = CGBitmapContextCreate(pixel, 1, 1, 8, 4, colorSpace, (CGBitmapInfo) kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast); CGContextTranslateCTM(context, -point.x, -point.y); [layer renderInContext:context]; CGContextRelease(context); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); CGFloat alpha = pixel[3] / 255.0f; return alpha < 0.01; }

iOS 18.4 HTTPS connection compatibility issue
We are experiencing a compatibility issue with our hybrid app related to the recent update in iPadOS 18.4, specifically concerning HTTPS connections. What are the key changes introduced in iPadOS 18.4 regarding HTTPS connections? Our app previously managed to bypass the DigitalSignature key usage missing error in the self-signed server certificate within the didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge method, as documented here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/webkit/wknavigationdelegate/webview(_:didreceive:completionhandler:) . However, since the update to iPadOS 18.4, this method is no longer being called, resulting in direct failure of HTTPS connections. We are using cordova-ios 7.1. Thanks in advance for your help.

IOS 26, web extensions no longer available
I recently upgraded my device from IOS 18.4 to IOS 26. My web extension has disapeared from safari. I can see it in Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions and when I turn it on and re-open safari. I just get a mesasge that says "{extension name} is no longer avaiable". I have tried Manifest V2 and Manifest V3 both yield the same results. The current production extension bundled with the IOS app has the same problem. I can no longer use or test my own extension !? Help please !

Inquiry Regarding Vertical Writing Mode Caret Issues in Safari on iOS
Dear Apple Developer Support, We are currently developing a system that requires the ability to edit Japanese vertical text within the Safari browser on iPhone. During our investigation, we encountered an issue that matches the following WebKit bug: 283620 – Caret Positioning Issues in Vertical Writing Mode We understand that this issue is being addressed in the following pull request: https://github.com/WebKit/WebKit/pull/39939 However, it appears that a complete fix has not yet been implemented. Given this situation, we would like to confirm the following: Is there any known workaround for this issue in iOS 17.5 or iOS 18.5 (the latest versions as of now)? If a workaround exists, could you please provide details? If not, could you share the expected timeline for a full resolution of this issue? Although this appears to be an open-source WebKit issue, we are reaching out to Apple because WebKit is tightly integrated with iOS and Safari, and ultimately delivered as part of the iPhone experience. Thank you very much for your support. Best regards, Takao Kurabayashi

I want to specify the background color for the header notch and footer indicator area when opening the browser in Safari on iOS 26.
When I open the browser in Safari on iOS 26, I want to specify the background color for the header notch (where the time, battery, etc. are displayed) and the footer indicator area. Specifying the theme color in HTML as shown below did not change anything. <meta name="theme-color" content="#ff0000"> <meta name="theme-color" media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" content="#ff0000"> <meta name="theme-color" media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" content="#ff0000"> The HTML below specifies the background color as green, but is it necessary to specify the background color directly in the body like this? Or is there some kind of metadata, like theme color? <!doctype html> <html lang="ja"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1" /> <meta name="theme-color" content="#ff0000"> <meta name="theme-color" media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" content="#ff0000"> <meta name="theme-color" media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" content="#ff0000"> <title>サンプル</title> </head> <body style="background:#00ff00"> <main> <p>テキスト</p> </main> <div id="overlay" role="dialog" aria-modal="true" data-test-id="health-warning-modal" style=" color:#000000; position:fixed; inset:0; z-index:30000; background:#2563eb; display:grid; /* 初期表示:表示中 */ align-items:center; justify-content:center; overflow-y:auto; " > <div style=" padding:60px 16px; display:flex; flex-direction:column; gap:20px; width:100%; box-sizing:border-box; " > <p style=" font-weight:700; text-align:center; margin-top:20px; font-size:28px; line-height:1.4; " > オーバーレイ </p> </div> </div> </body> </html>

Safari nativeMessaging with non-persistent background page
I'm working on a Safari web extension that uses the nativeMessaging facility to communication with native code. When I want to notify the javascript extension from the embedding application, I use SFSafariApplication::dispatchMessage. As per the documentation, this call ... ensures that Safari is launched and that your extension is running before delivering the message. Everything works fine when the background script is running. However, after the background script gets unloaded at some point in time (non persistent background page, default behavior for a manifest V3 extension), the background script is not reloaded by the message from the native app (background script still appears unloaded in the developer menu of Safari, double-checked using a counter stored in browser.storage.local incremented on message reception). In this case, the completion handler of the application gets no error (error == nil) as if the message was correctly delivered. I was able to reproduce this behavior with the sample app delivered for WWDC20 (after upgrading the manifest from v2 to v3 to make it non-persistent). Is it supposed to work ? What I'm doing wrong ?

WebKit's `decidePolicy` breaking change in iOS 18.5 + Xcode 16.4
It seems that in iOS 18.5+ built with Xcode 16.4+, there has been a breaking change since 18.4 with 16.3 within WebKit and how the navigationAction.sourceFrame property is initialized when implementing the decidePolicy delegate method. The flow goes: Implement a WKNavigationActionDelegate with decidePolicy Call WKWebView.loadHTMLString("some-string", baseURL: nil) Upon loading the HTML content, read the value of navigationAction.sourceFrame within the decidePolicy method of the WKNavigationActionDelegate On iOS 18.4 (and below) with Xcode 16.3 (and below); navigationAction.sourceFrame is <uninitialized> On iOS 18.5+ with Xcode 16.4+: navigationAction.sourceFrame is already initialized and is equal to navigationAction.targetFrame It appears that this change was made between minor versions of Xcode and is unexpected behavior of a minor version. Not only was this not called out in the release notes for Xcode 16.4 and iOS 18.5, but it's technically also a breaking change to the WebKit API. Can we get insight on why this change was made and what Apple's policy is on breaking changes between minor versions of Xcode/iOS?

Crash in WKScriptMessageHandler — CFRelease / CoreFoundation on iOS with WKWebView
We are building a hybrid iOS app using Angular (web) rendered inside a WKWebView, hosted by a native Swift app. Communication between the Angular UI and native Swift code is done using WKScriptMessageHandler. The app mostly works without issues, but in rare edge cases, we’re seeing crashes on the main thread, and the crash is reported in Firebase Crashlytics. The root cause appears related to CFRelease and WKScriptMessageHandler. Here’s the relevant crash stack: Crashed: com.apple.main-thread 0 CoreFoundation 0xbfac CFRelease + 44 1 CoreFoundation 0xa734 __CFURLDeallocate + 128 2 CoreFoundation 0x730c _CFRelease + 292 3 libobjc.A.dylib 0x4e28 AutoreleasePoolPage::releaseUntil(objc_object**) + 204 4 libobjc.A.dylib 0x4cbc objc_autoreleasePoolPop + 260 5 WebKit 0x99f194 WebKit::WebUserContentControllerProxy::didPostMessage(WTF::ObjectIdentifierGeneric<WebKit::WebPageProxyIdentifierType, WTF::ObjectIdentifierMainThreadAccessTraits<unsigned long long>, unsigned long long>, WebKit::FrameInfoData&&, WTF::ObjectIdentifierGeneric<WebKit::ScriptMessageHandlerIdentifierType, WTF::ObjectIdentifierMainThreadAccessTraits<unsigned long long>, unsigned long long>, std::__1::span<unsigned char const, 18446744073709551615ul>, WTF::CompletionHandler<void (std::__1::span<unsigned char const, 18446744073709551615ul>, WTF::String const&)>&&) + 680 6 WebKit 0x1b358 WebKit::WebUserContentControllerProxy::didReceiveMessage(IPC::Connection&, IPC::Decoder&) + 392 7 WebKit 0xe86b0 IPC::MessageReceiverMap::dispatchMessage(IPC::Connection&, IPC::Decoder&) + 272 8 WebKit 0x23c0c WebKit::WebProcessProxy::didReceiveMessage(IPC::Connection&, IPC::Decoder&) + 44 9 WebKit 0xe3f054 IPC::Connection::dispatchMessage(WTF::UniqueRef<IPC::Decoder>) + 252 10 WebKit 0x332d4 IPC::Connection::dispatchIncomingMessages() + 744 11 JavaScriptCore 0x58a7c WTF::RunLoop::performWork() + 204 12 JavaScriptCore 0x599a4 WTF::RunLoop::performWork(void*) + 36 13 CoreFoundation 0x56328 __CFRUNLOOP_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_SOURCE0_PERFORM_FUNCTION__ + 28 14 CoreFoundation 0x562bc __CFRunLoopDoSource0 + 176 15 CoreFoundation 0x53dc0 __CFRunLoopDoSources0 + 244 16 CoreFoundation 0x52fbc __CFRunLoopRun + 840 17 CoreFoundation 0x52830 CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 588 18 GraphicsServices 0x11c4 GSEventRunModal + 164 19 UIKitCore 0x3d2eb0 -[UIApplication _run] + 816 20 UIKitCore 0x4815b4 UIApplicationMain + 340 21 APP1 0xa2f80 main + 21 (AppDelegate.swift:21) 22 ??? 0x1c234eec8 (シンボルが不足しています) Steps: WebView: WKWebView Message passing: WKScriptMessageHandler → passing data from Angular → Swift WKWebView is long-lived and reused Native is using WKUserContentController.add(_:name:) to register handlers Crashes are intermittent (hard to reproduce), but often follow: Screen sleep/wake Push notification open Angular calling native immediately after resume Questions: Has anyone seen this specific crash pattern involving CFRelease and WKScriptMessageHandler? iOS 26 Webview and alert issue
Hello, In iOS 26 beta, we are seeing an unexpected behavior when using SwiftUI WebView (or a custom WKWebView via UIViewRepresentable). When an alert is presented above the WebView, the WebView immediately reloads to its initial page. The alert itself also disappears instantly, making it impossible for the user to interact with it. This issue occurs both with the new SwiftUI WebView / WebPage API and with a wrapped WKWebView. The problem was not present in previous iOS versions (iOS 17/18). Steps to reproduce: Create a SwiftUI view with a WebView (pointing to any URL). Add a toolbar button that toggles a SwiftUI alert. Run the app on iOS 26 beta. Tap the button to trigger the alert. Expected behavior: The WebView should remain as-is, and the alert should stay visible until the user dismisses it. Actual behavior: As soon as the alert appears, the WebView reloads and resets to the initial page. The alert disappears immediately. Minimal Example: struct ContentView: View { @State private var showAlert = false var body: some View { NavigationStack { WebView(URL(string: "https://apple.com")!) .toolbar { ToolbarItem(placement: .topBarTrailing) { Button("Close") { showAlert = true } } } .alert("Confirm close?", isPresented: $showAlert) { Button("Cancel", role: .cancel) {} Button("Close", role: .destructive) {} } } } } I'm using Xcode Version 26.0 beta 7 Thanks for your help.

Safari crashes
Ever since the iOS and iPadOS 26.2 beta I can’t open Safari at all. Safari tries to open but crashes and goes back to my home screen. I’ve restored my devices and restarted everything and the same issue occurs. I didn’t have this problem on the beta 26.1 but this whole thing started on 26.2.

CSS filter produces incorrect colors in iOS 26.2 WebView (works fine on iOS 18.6.2)
I'm using a CSS filter to achieve dark mode for my HTML page. I know it's imperfect, but I have no choice for many reasons. However, I found that the CSS filter produces incorrect colors in iOS 26.2 WebView, while it works fine in iOS 18.6.2 WebView. Here is my HTML and CSS filter: <html> <head> <style> .filter_container { /* invert colors for the entire page */ filter: invert(1) hue-rotate(180deg); } .filter { /* restore colors for specific elements, such as img */ filter: hue-rotate(180deg) invert(1); } </style> </head> <body> <div>original & bgcolor+filter & img+filter</div> <table> <tr> <td> <div style="display:flex; gap:1px; align-items:center; justify-content:center;"> <div class="origin_container"><div class="origin" style="background-color:#FFFFFF; height:60px; width:60px; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; border-width: 1px;"></div></div> <div class="filter_container"><div class="filter" style="background-color:#FFFFFF; height:60px; width:60px; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; border-width: 1px"></div></div> <div class="filter_container"><img class="filter" src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAADwAAAA8CAYAAAA6/NlyAAAAdklEQVR4nOXOQQEAIACEMKR/57OFPliCnW0jRGIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkxt+B1y6HmAR0uIzOQQAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==" style="height:60px; width:60px; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; border-width: 1px"></img></div> </div> <div style="text-align:center;">#FFFFFF</div> </td> ...many other colors </table> </body> </html> It works fine in iOS 18.6.2 WebView: But renders incorrectly in iOS 26.2 WebView:

Safari Extension Stops on iOS 17.5.1 - 18
We are encountering an issue where the Safari extension we are developing stops working while in use on relatively new iOS versions (confirmed on 17.5.1, 17.6.1, and 18). Upon checking the Safari console, the content script is displayed in the extension script, so the background script or Service Worker must be stopping. The time until it stops is about 1 minute on 17.5.1 and about one day on 17.6.1 or 18. When it stops, we would like to find a way to restart the Service Worker from the extension side, but we have not found a method to do so yet. To restart the extension, the user needs to turn off the corresponding extension in the iPhone settings and then turn it back on. As mentioned in the following thread, it is written that the above bug was fixed in 17.6, but we recognize that it has not been fixed. https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/758346 On 17.5.1, adding the following process to the background script prevents it from stopping for about the same time as on 17.6 and above. // Will be passed into runtime.onConnect for processes that are listening for the connection event const INTERNAL_STAYALIVE_PORT = "port.connect"; // Try wake up every 9S const INTERVAL_WAKE_UP = 9000; // Alive port var alivePort = null; // Call the function at SW(service worker) start StayAlive(); async function StayAlive() { var wakeup = setInterval(() => { if (alivePort == null) { alivePort = browser.runtime.connect({ name: INTERNAL_STAYALIVE_PORT }); alivePort.onDisconnect.addListener((p) => { alivePort = null; }); } if (alivePort) { alivePort.postMessage({ content: "ping" }); } }, INTERVAL_WAKE_UP); } Additionally, we considered methods to revive the Service Worker when it stops, which are listed below. None of the methods listed below resolved the issue. ① Implemented a process to create a connection again if the return value of sendMessage is null. The determination of whether the Service Worker has stopped is made by sending a message from the content script to the background script and checking whether the message return value is null as follows. sendMessageToBackground.js let infoFromBackground = await browser.runtime.sendMessage(sendParam); if (!infoFromBackground) { // If infoFromBackground is null, Service Worker should have stopped. browser.runtime.connect({name: 'reconnect'}); // ← reconnection process // Sending message again infoFromBackground = await browser.runtime.sendMessage(sendParam); } return infoFromBackground.message; Background script browser.runtime.onConnect.addListener((port) => { if (port.name !== 'reconnect') return; port.onMessage.addListener(async (request, sender, sendResponse) => { sendResponse({ response: "response form background", message: "reconnect.", }); }); ② Verified whether the service worker could be restarted by regenerating Background.js and content.js. sendMessageToBackground.js export async function sendMessageToBackground(sendParam) { let infoFromBackground = await browser.runtime.sendMessage(sendParam); if (!infoFromBackground) { executeContentScript(); // ← executeScript infoFromBackground = await browser.runtime.sendMessage(sendParam); } return infoFromBackground.message; } async function executeContentScript() { browser.webNavigation.onDOMContentLoaded.addListener((details) => { browser.scripting.executeScript({ target: { tabId: details.tabId }, files: ["./content.js"] }); }); } However, browser.webNavigation.onDOMContentLoaded.addListener was not executed due to the following error. @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58295 @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58539 @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58539 ③ Verify that ServiceWorker restarts by updating ContentScripts async function updateContentScripts() { try { const scripts = await browser.scripting.getRegisteredContentScripts(); const scriptIds = scripts.map(script => script.id); await browser.scripting.updateContentScripts(scriptIds);//update content } catch (e) { await errorLogger(e.stack); } } However, scripting.getRegisteredContentScripts was not executed due to the same error as in 2. @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58359 @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58456 @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58456 @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58549 @webkit-masked-url://hidden/:2:58549 These are the methods we have considered. If anyone knows a solution, please let us know.

WKWebView customUserAgent replaces system User-Agent with NetworkingExtension identifier on iOS 26.4
Reproduction Steps:a. Create a WKWebView instance and set a custom string to customUserAgent.b. Load any web page (e.g., https://example.com).c. Check the User-Agent field in the request headers via packet capture tools or Web Inspector. Expected Result:The custom User-Agent should be appended to the default system identifier (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 18_7 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15...), instead of being completely overwritten. Actual Result:The User-Agent is fully replaced with: NetworkingExtension/8624.1.16.10.6 Network/5812.102.3 iOS/26.4, and all basic system identifiers are missing. Additional Information: Device: iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS Version: 26.4 (Build 20T5127) WKWebView setup: Directly set using the customUserAgent property Network Extension features are not used in the project, but the NetworkingExtension identifier still appears in the User-Agent

Request Accept: / Content-Type: application/json Origin: capacitor://localhost Sec-Fetch-Dest: empty Sec-Fetch-Mode: cors Sec-Fetch-Site: cross-site User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 18_4 like Mac OS X) - AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/15E148 X-Client-Version: Mobile/JsCore/11.2.0/FirebaseCore-web X-Firebase-Client: (...)

On iOS 26 beta8, if a view's subview contains a WKWebView, using the CALayer's renderInContext method fails to capture the pixel
I’m experiencing an issue in WKWebView on iOS 26 Developer Beta 8. If a view's subview contains a WKWebView, using the CALayer's renderInContext method fails to capture the pixel at the current point, and the console outputs "unsupported surface format: &b38". The following code snippet was functioning as expected on iOS 18 and iOS 26 beta 1. However, it no longer works in the latest beta. Is this a known bug in the current iOS 26 betas, or is there a recommended workaround? - (BOOL)isTransparentAtTouchPoint:(CGPoint)point layer:(CALayer *)layer { unsigned char pixel[4] = {0}; CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGContextRef context = CGBitmapContextCreate(pixel, 1, 1, 8, 4, colorSpace, (CGBitmapInfo) kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast); CGContextTranslateCTM(context, -point.x, -point.y); [layer renderInContext:context]; CGContextRelease(context); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); CGFloat alpha = pixel[3] / 255.0f; return alpha < 0.01; }

iOS 18.4 HTTPS connection compatibility issue

What I'm doing wrong ?

iOS Safari Extension State
I'd like to know the install state of my iOS safari extension in the associated swift app. Is there any way to get this? As we have seen it is available for macOS here, is there anyway to know iOS Safari extension is enabled or not? Thanks

We are building a hybrid iOS app using Angular (web) rendered inside a WKWebView, hosted by a native Swift app. Communication between the Angular UI and native Swift code is done using WKScriptMessageHandler. The app mostly works without issues, but in rare edge cases, we’re seeing crashes on the main thread, and the crash is reported in Firebase Crashlytics. The root cause appears related to CFRelease and WKScriptMessageHandler. Here’s the relevant crash stack: Crashed: com.apple.main-thread 0 CoreFoundation 0xbfac CFRelease + 44 1 CoreFoundation 0xa734 __CFURLDeallocate + 128 2 CoreFoundation 0x730c _CFRelease + 292 3 libobjc.A.dylib 0x4e28 AutoreleasePoolPage::releaseUntil(objc_object**) + 204 4 libobjc.A.dylib 0x4cbc objc_autoreleasePoolPop + 260 5 WebKit 0x99f194 WebKit::WebUserContentControllerProxy::didPostMessage(WTF::ObjectIdentifierGeneric<WebKit::WebPageProxyIdentifierType, WTF::ObjectIdentifierMainThreadAccessTraits<unsigned long long>, unsigned long long>, WebKit::FrameInfoData&&, WTF::ObjectIdentifierGeneric<WebKit::ScriptMessageHandlerIdentifierType, WTF::ObjectIdentifierMainThreadAccessTraits<unsigned long long>, unsigned long long>, std::__1::span<unsigned char const, 18446744073709551615ul>, WTF::CompletionHandler<void (std::__1::span<unsigned char const, 18446744073709551615ul>, WTF::String const&)>&&) + 680 6 WebKit 0x1b358 WebKit::WebUserContentControllerProxy::didReceiveMessage(IPC::Connection&, IPC::Decoder&) + 392 7 WebKit 0xe86b0 IPC::MessageReceiverMap::dispatchMessage(IPC::Connection&, IPC::Decoder&) + 272 8 WebKit 0x23c0c WebKit::WebProcessProxy::didReceiveMessage(IPC::Connection&, IPC::Decoder&) + 44 9 WebKit 0xe3f054 IPC::Connection::dispatchMessage(WTF::UniqueRef<IPC::Decoder>) + 252 10 WebKit 0x332d4 IPC::Connection::dispatchIncomingMessages() + 744 11 JavaScriptCore 0x58a7c WTF::RunLoop::performWork() + 204 12 JavaScriptCore 0x599a4 WTF::RunLoop::performWork(void*) + 36 13 CoreFoundation 0x56328 __CFRUNLOOP_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_SOURCE0_PERFORM_FUNCTION__ + 28 14 CoreFoundation 0x562bc __CFRunLoopDoSource0 + 176 15 CoreFoundation 0x53dc0 __CFRunLoopDoSources0 + 244 16 CoreFoundation 0x52fbc __CFRunLoopRun + 840 17 CoreFoundation 0x52830 CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 588 18 GraphicsServices 0x11c4 GSEventRunModal + 164 19 UIKitCore 0x3d2eb0 -[UIApplication _run] + 816 20 UIKitCore 0x4815b4 UIApplicationMain + 340 21 APP1 0xa2f80 main + 21 (AppDelegate.swift:21) 22 ??? 0x1c234eec8 (シンボルが不足しています) Steps: WebView: WKWebView Message passing: WKScriptMessageHandler → passing data from Angular → Swift WKWebView is long-lived and reused Native is using WKUserContentController.add(_:name:) to register handlers Crashes are intermittent (hard to reproduce), but often follow: Screen sleep/wake Push notification open Angular calling native immediately after resume Questions: Has anyone seen this specific crash pattern involving CFRelease and WKScriptMessageHandler? Are there known WebKit or CoreFoundation bugs related to WKScriptMessageHandler and retained URLs or message content? Thank you for your help!

Xcode 26 crash upon dealloc of `WKNavigationResponse` on Main Thread
Since Xcode 26 our tests are crashing due to the Main Thread not being able to deallocate WKNavigationResponse. iOS 26 Webview and alert issue
Minimal Example: struct ContentView: View { @State private var showAlert = false var body: some View { NavigationStack { WebView(URL(string: "https://apple.com")!) .toolbar { ToolbarItem(placement: .topBarTrailing) { Button("Close") { showAlert = true } } } .alert("Confirm close?", isPresented: $showAlert) { Button("Cancel", role: .cancel) {} Button("Close", role: .destructive) {} } } } } I'm using Xcode Version 26.0 beta 7 Thanks for your help.

the passkey suggestion does not appear; instead, the password suggestion appears on iPhone.
Create shortcut to open chrome with url and put it on the desktop. Tap the shortcut. Tap the username text field. When launching Safari from an iOS shortcut on an iOS device with a valid passkey registered, the passkey suggestion does not appear; instead, the password suggestion appears sometimes.

I'm using a CSS filter to achieve dark mode for my HTML page. I know it's imperfect, but I have no choice for many reasons. However, I found that the CSS filter produces incorrect colors in iOS 26.2 WebView, while it works fine in iOS 18.6.2 WebView. Here is my HTML and CSS filter: <html> <head> <style> .filter_container { /* invert colors for the entire page */ filter: invert(1) hue-rotate(180deg); } .filter { /* restore colors for specific elements, such as img */ filter: hue-rotate(180deg) invert(1); } </style> </head> <body> <div>original & bgcolor+filter & img+filter</div> <table> <tr> <td> <div style="display:flex; gap:1px; align-items:center; justify-content:center;"> <div class="origin_container"><div class="origin" style="background-color:#FFFFFF; height:60px; width:60px; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; border-width: 1px;"></div></div> <div class="filter_container"><div class="filter" style="background-color:#FFFFFF; height:60px; width:60px; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; border-width: 1px"></div></div> <div class="filter_container"><img class="filter" src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAADwAAAA8CAYAAAA6/NlyAAAAdklEQVR4nOXOQQEAIACEMKR/57OFPliCnW0jRGIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkRmIkxt+B1y6HmAR0uIzOQQAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==" style="height:60px; width:60px; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; border-width: 1px"></img></div> </div> <div style="text-align:center;">#FFFFFF</div> </td> ...many other colors </table> </body> </html> It works fine in iOS 18.6.2 WebView: But renders incorrectly in iOS 26.2 WebView:
