How to disable Temporary Tabs in Xcode?
It's maddening. I just opened a file and now it's gone because I had the audacity to open another file. I've learned that I can double click the tab of the first file to make it a permanent tab... but, of course, I'll need to do that every time I ever open any file ever, and if I close that file and come back to it later I'm going to be constantly having to double click tabs just to make Xcode stop replacing my tabs for me. It's nuts. It's driving me insane. Please. Is there any way to just DISABLE the temporary tabs behavior? I don't find it helpful in any way and I find it to be destructive to my development workflows.

Program enrollment issue, no response from support
Hi everyone, I’m running into a frustrating issue with the Apple Developer Program and would really appreciate any advice. I was charged $99 USD for the membership and received the confirmation email saying it would be processed within 2 business days. However, I still don’t have access to the membership, and nothing has been activated on my account. What makes it worse — I’ve already tried contacting Apple support multiple times via email, but I haven’t received any response at all. So right now I’m stuck: payment went through, but no membership and no support response. Has anyone faced this before? Did your membership eventually activate on its own? Is there any way to actually reach Apple support (chat, phone, anything that works)? Should I escalate this somehow or request a refund through my bank? Any advice would really help — I feel like I’m just shouting into the void at this point. Thanks 🙏

Xcode 13 "Missing package product" using local Swift Packages
I have a project I've been working off of for a few years now that makes use of local Swift Packages. In my workspace, I have a "Kit" project that generates a framework using several local Swift Packages as dependencies. In Xcode 12, the local Swift packages resolve correctly and compiles, but each beta of Xcode 13 gives me the error: "[ProjectName].xcodeproj Missing package product '[LocalSwiftPackage]'" Clearing the package cache, derived data, or restarting the application does not resolve the issue. Only Swift Packages that are remotely loaded from a URL are compiled correctly. Using local packages to separate module code, while still being able to edit in the same project, has been essential to my workflow and would hate to see Xcode 13 release with these breaking changes, and I have not seen this issue listed in the known issues for the Xcode 13 release notes. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround?

Xcode 26.4: Regressions in Intelligence features
Just installed the new Xcode 26.4 RC build (17E192) after happily using 26.3 for a few months. I'm noticing some immediate regressions in the Intelligence features: Frequent losing of OAuth token (Claude Agent). This had previously been fixed and now is back. Agent "Thinking" is constrained to thought bubble windows, which are (a) too small to read, (b) not scrollable when thinking goes beyond a few paragraphs. Yes they are tappable when thinking is finished, but this doesn't help. Due to (2), in deep thinking, it's impossible to follow progress beyond the visible window, so impossible to know if the agent is going off the rails. I'm noticing just more general slowness to complete tasks. Not just complete them -- it seems like it takes longer to START tasks, which is really weird. It sits there thinking for longer. Same project, same model as before. Every time you tap "New Chat" it presents both Claude and Codex choices, even if you're only signed into one. This turned a simple single tap into now a required two taps. Overall this feels like a frustrating setback after a very positive user experience in 26.3.

ChatGPT in Xcode 26 not recognizing Plus subscription
Hi all, Has anyone else run into this issue in Xcode 26? I’m logged into my paid ChatGPT Plus account, but the Xcode integration doesn’t seem to recognize the subscription. After a short period of use, I get the following error: “Over daily limit. ChatGPT in Xcode will be unavailable for up to 24 hours. For higher limits, sign in with a paid ChatGPT account.” Since I’m already signed in with a paid account, this looks like either a bug or a limitation specific to Xcode. Is this expected behavior, or has anyone found a workaround to make Xcode properly recognize Plus accounts? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Provisioning profiles marked "Ineligible" for Contactless Pass Provisioning even though entitlement is present in profile
We are seeing what looks like a signing / managed-capability mismatch for Contactless Pass Provisioning. Environment Team ID: S7AUTD2C2B Bundle IDs: com.swiftpass.ios com.swiftpass.ios.dev Xcode: 26.4 macOS: 26.4 Problem Our app has had Contactless Pass Provisioning approved by Apple for a long time, and builds were working until a few days ago. Without any intentional signing/capability changes on our side, Xcode started failing with the following error: Provisioning profile "Swiftpass prod Appstore" doesn't include the Contactless Pass Provisioning capability. Contactless Pass Provisioning capability needs to be assigned to your team and bundle identifier by Apple in order to be included in a profile. Observed behavior Xcode marks the relevant provisioning profiles as "Ineligible" in the profile selector. This affects both development/debug and release/App Store builds. If we remove Contactless Pass Provisioning from the app entitlements/capabilities, the exact same profiles immediately become eligible and the signing error disappears. Important detail The downloaded provisioning profiles already contain the entitlement that Xcode claims is missing. We verified the downloaded profile with: security cms -D -i /Users/sergej/Downloads/Swiftpass_prod_Appstore\(1\).mobileprovision and it contains: <key>com.apple.developer.contactless-payment-pass-provisioning</key> <array> <string>shareablecredential</string> </array> So the issue appears to be that the profile contents look correct the capability is still present in the developer portal but Xcode's eligibility check still says the profile does not include the capability What we verified Contactless Pass Provisioning is still enabled for the App ID in the Apple Developer portal Newly recreated / redownloaded profiles still contain the entitlement Both dev and distribution profiles are affected The behavior is reproducible across profile refreshes and local cleanup What we already tried Reinstalled Xcode Updated Xcode and macOS Updated command line tools Cleaned DerivedData Deleted local provisioning profile cache Refreshed/redownloaded profiles from Xcode Recreated provisioning profiles in the developer portal Removed and re-added the capability in Xcode Expected behavior If the downloaded provisioning profile contains com.apple.developer.contactless-payment-pass-provisioning, Xcode should treat that profile as eligible. Actual behavior Xcode reports that the capability is missing and marks the profile as ineligible, even though the entitlement is present in the downloaded profile. Question Has anyone seen this specific mismatch with Contactless Pass Provisioning or other managed capabilities? This currently looks like either: an Apple backend/App ID capability-assignment sync problem, or an Xcode eligibility-validation bug for managed capabilities Feedback Assistant ID: FB22439399. It contains screenshots that showcase the issue as well.

Reoccurring data access prompt issue with Swift Playgrounds 4.6.4 on macOS 26.1
Hello, I am having a recurring issue using Swift Playgrounds version 4.6.4 on macOS 26.1. Upon opening a file and every other time I start typing in the code section I get a prompt, the image below, two or three times. It doesn't matter if I accept or decline all or some of the prompts, as soon as I start typing on another line I get prompted another two or three times for permission. It appears to me that prompt generates every time the preview pane tries to update. Declining the prompt breaks the preview but accepting the prompt only gets you through a single line of code before it appears again. I believe this issue started after I updated to macOS26.1 as I had not encountered it before. I've also opened other files with Swift Playgrounds and encounter the same problem. It could also be unrelated to the update and could be an issue with some permission setting somewhere, however, I have been unable to find what or where it could be. Is anyone else experiencing this? Thank you for your time :)

Xcode seems not compatible with the ssh key RSA-SHA2 while trying to git clone from Azure
Since a few days, I'm trying to fetch our private SPM repo hosted on Azure via Xcode but without success. Actually they now accept only ssh key RSA-SHA2-256 or RSA-SHA2-512. So I created a new SSH key, but it seems the problem persists when I try to fetch spm repo or git clone via xcode: "You’re using ssh-rsa that is about to be deprecated and your request has been blocked intentionally. Any SSH session using SSH-RSA is subject to brown out (failure during random time periods). Please use rsa-sha2-256 or rsa-sha2-512 instead. For more details see aka.ms/ado-ssh-rsa-deprecation. remote: ERROR_SSH_UNSUPPORTED_CIPHER (7) (-20)" Even so I'm choosing the good new ssh key, it seems Xcode is sending wrong information about the new generated ssh key. Anyone is experiencing the same here?

Playgrounds app with the latest SDK (OS 26)
I am preparing for Swift Student Challenge, but it seems like the iPad Playground app still not support the latest SDK. I can't use frameworks like FoundationModel, etc., directly in playground app My playground for this year would require iPad environment since it uses PencilKit, ARKit, etc., and I also want to use the latest tech + the liquid glass UI Right now, I develop the project as a normal Xcode project, and I am wondering how do I post it? As Xcode playground, it must run on macOS As Swift Playground project, the iPad version of Playground does not support latest APIs and it can't compile

Apple watch Xcode pairing & connection issues
I’m blocked debugging a watchOS app on a physical Apple Watch. The iPhone connects to Xcode normally (wired), but the Watch either fails to connect with a tunnel timeout or disappears entirely from Xcode after I unpaired it inside Devices & Simulators. Environment Mac: macOS 26.x (Apple Silicon Mac) Xcode: 26.2 iPhone: iOS 26.1 Apple Watch Ultra: watchOS 26.2 (build 23S303) Connection: iPhone connected to Mac via USB (trusted). Watch paired to iPhone and working normally in the Watch app. Issue A (when Watch is visible in Xcode) In Xcode → Window → Devices and Simulators, the Watch shows up but is not usable and fails to connect. Error: “Previous preparation error: A connection to this device could not be established.” “Timed out while attempting to establish tunnel using negotiated network parameters.” In some attempts the Watch shows “Capacity: Unknown” / limited details, and then fails during preparation. Issue B (after unpairing Watch in Xcode only) I unpaired/removed the Watch in Xcode (Devices & Simulators). I did not unpair the Watch from the iPhone. Now: iPhone appears in Xcode and works normally for builds. Watch is still paired to the iPhone and works normally. Watch no longer appears anywhere in Xcode Devices & Simulators (no paired watch section, no watch run destination). What I’ve tried Reboots of Mac, iPhone, Watch (multiple times) Watch unlocked, awake; iPhone unlocked and close to Watch Verified Watch is paired and connected in iPhone Watch app Developer Mode enabled on iPhone and Watch Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ON (Mac/iPhone/Watch), tried toggling both Tried on home Wi-Fi and also with iPhone hotspot (same result) Resetting trust prompts / reconnecting iPhone via USB, re-trusting Mac Apple Watch: “Clear Trusted Computers” Xcode: removing/re-adding devices; clearing derived data; restarting Xcode Watch Developer networking test: Responsiveness = Medium (430 RPM) Questions 1. Is this a known issue/regression with Xcode 26.2 + watchOS 26.2 tunneling (CoreDevice / devicectl)? 2. Is there an Apple-supported way to force Xcode to re-discover a paired Watch after it was removed from Xcode Devices & Simulators (without unpairing the Watch from the iPhone)? 3. Any recommended logs or diagnostic steps I should collect (Console logs, sysdiagnose, specific Xcode/CoreDevice logs) to include in a Feedback report? If helpful, I can provide the full error text from Xcode’s Devices window and any logs you recommend. Thank you in advance,

Xcode 26 fails to load SPM packages
For me it looks like Xcode 26 has problems reading SPM packages from a locally hosted BitBucket git solution. While Xcode 16 work perfectly fine, Xcode 26 fails to load and gives "Server SSH Fingerprint Failed to Verify" as error description. Cleaning build data and DerivedData sometimes makes loading work. Any change in Package dependencies will break it again. Anyone having same problems? How do you handle it?

Slow incremental build times with xcodebuild command
When I compile my Xcode project using the xcodebuild command, I observe long incremental build durations. For example, compiling a new, empty project in Xcode only takes around one second. The same project takes 7 seconds to compile using the xcodebuild command. I've noticed that xcodebuild hangs at the "GatherProvisioningInputs" phase. Steps to Reproduce: Create a new Xcode project (iOS app template) Build the project in Xcode with timing summary enabled Build the same project from the command line with the following command: time xcodebuild -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 15 Pro,OS=latest' I would appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to improve the build times when using the xcodebuild command. Thank you in advance for your help!

ChatGPT in Xcode 26 not recognizing Plus subscription

Duplicate apps launched when debugging in Xcode?
I’ve noticed a strange bug in Xcode 16 and Swift. When a preview is rendering and hasn’t finished yet and you run an app to debug, Xcode is launching two instances of the app. Has anyone else noticed this issue? If you let the preview finish rendering before running the app, this doesn’t happen. Very odd.

Reoccurring data access prompt issue with Swift Playgrounds 4.6.4 on macOS 26.1

It could also be unrelated to the update and could be an issue with some permission setting somewhere, however, I have been unable to find what or where it could be. Is anyone else experiencing this? Thank you for your time :)

Xcode Cloud builds stuck on "Queued"
Xcode Cloud seems to be queueing up builds but not processing them. Currently the earliest queued build on my end is about 3 hours ago. System status pages don't show any issues. I just want to check if this is something other people are seeing or just something going weird on our account.

Xcode Cloud Dependency Resolution - out-of-date resolved file
When I try to build my iOS app using Xcode Cloud, it encounters an error when trying to resolve packages: an out-of-date resolved file was detected at [path to package.resolved], which is not allowed when automatic dependency resolution is disabled; please make sure to update the file to reflect the changes in dependencies Looking at my package.resolved file, it all seems to be in order. What can I do to fix it?
