How to retrieve required Apple Pay parameters for PayFort payment request in Swift?
I'm integrating Apple Pay with PayFort in a Swift iOS application, and I’m currently working on preparing a valid purchase request using Apple Pay, as described in PayFort’s documentation: 🔗 https://docsbeta.payfort.com/docs/api/build/index.html?shell#apple-pay-authorization-purchase-request The documentation outlines the following required parameters: apple_data apple_signature apple_header apple_transactionId apple_ephemeralPublicKey apple_publicKeyHash apple_paymentMethod apple_displayName apple_network apple_type Optional: apple_applicationData I understand these should be derived from the PKPayment object after Apple Pay authorization, but I’m having trouble mapping everything correctly. Here’s what I’m seeing in code: payment.token // Returns something like: <PKPaymentToken: 0x28080ae80; transactionIdentifier: "..."; paymentData: 3780 bytes> payment.token.paymentData // Contains 3780 bytes of encrypted data payment.token.paymentData.base64EncodedString() // Returns a long base64 string, which at first glance seems like it could be used for apple_data, // but PayFort doesn't accept it as-is — so this value appears to be incomplete or incorrectly formatted I can successfully retrieve the following values from payment.token.paymentMethod: apple_displayName apple_network apple_type However, I’m still unsure how to extract or build the following in the format accepted by PayFort: apple_data apple_signature apple_header apple_transactionId apple_ephemeralPublicKey apple_publicKeyHash apple_paymentMethod These may be contained within the paymentData JSON, but I’m not sure how to decode it or if Apple allows decrypting it in a way that matches PayFort’s expected format. How can I correctly extract or build apple_data, apple_signature, and apple_header from the Apple Pay token? Also, how should I handle the decryption or decoding (if necessary) of paymentData to retrieve values like apple_transactionId, apple_ephemeralPublicKey, and apple_publicKeyHash? If anyone has successfully set this up or has example code that bridges Apple Pay and PayFort’s expected request format, it would be super helpful! Thanks in advance 🙏

Xcode 16 Do not display comments correctly
Comments are not displayed correctly in Xcode 16. As you can see on the included screenshot, the first /// are displayed correctly but the remaining ////////////////////////// are super small. In a programming text editor, like Xcode, all characters MUST be monospaced. Otherwise it is impossible to code. Xcode is not supposed to be a word processor. There are no parameters to fix that. It was working fine for the past 15 years on Xcode. Please fix that so I can work again. And never do that ever again. Understood?

Unable to launch + Attach to Mac Widget (Sonoma + Xcode 15)
Attempting to launch a widget in Debug mode on Sonoma from Xcode 15 is failing with the following message: attach failed (Not allowed to attach to process. Look in the console messages (Console.app), near the debugserver entries, when the attach failed. The subsystem that denied the attach permission will likely have logged an informative message about why it was denied.) Looking in console I see this message: macOSTaskPolicy: (com.apple.debugserver) may not get the task control port of (MacGalleryWidget) (pid: 1851): (MacGalleryWidget) is hardened, (MacGalleryWidget) doesn't have get-task-allow, (com.apple.debugserver) is a declared debugger(com.apple.debugserver) is not a declared read-only debugger What Xcode settings should I be looking at to rectify this? I suspect I may have something that's out of whack.

Unable to apply stashed changes
I am trying to perform an unstash operation. I RC on the stash to restore, select "Apply Stashed Changes". It then launches a comparison window to allow me to cherrypick the changes I want to include. However, the button along the bottom, "Apply Changes" is grayed out and remains so no matter what I do. Switching stashes, exiting and restarting xcode. TG i made an emergency project backup right before I did the stash, just for a case like this. Bug? Feature?

Xcode 16.0 and 16.1 regression: only allows .scn files to be added to .scnassets group
There is a significant regression in Xcode 16.0 and 16.1 (16B5014f) in that it no longer allows asset files other than .SCN files to be added to a .scnasset group and folder. This really wrecks our ability to maintain our app since we heavily depend on additional assets like .USDZ, .JPEG, .PNG, etc. files to be able to be included in the group for on-demand resource tagging and loading. I filed FB15239224 but I'm wondering if this is intentional and if anyone knows of a workaround.

Remove old iOS Simulator Runtimes that are not listed in Xcode
Inside /Library/Developer/CoreSimulator I have 26GB (according to du -h) of old data that Xcode won't list under Window -> Devices & Simulators. Because of Apples decision to not let even the root user write in this directory I am unable to delete them with rm -r * or put them in the trash etc. The old runtimes are even listed in disk utility and can't be unmounted or delete from there - also due to missing permissions. How can I get rid of this if even Xcode won't list them? Also tried xcrun simctl delete all without success.

Any way to automate adding libraries in Xcode from Swift Package Manager (SPM)?
Hi all, I’m looking for a way to automate the process of adding Swift Package dependencies (SPM) into an Xcode project. Right now, I’m doing this manually via: Xcode → Project → Swift Packages → Add Package Dependency... But I’d like to script this step — ideally as part of a CI/CD pipeline or a setup script. I explored the xcodeproj Ruby gem, but it doesn’t support adding SPM packages, and there's no official support for editing the .xcodeproj structure related to Swift Packages. So my question is: Is there any Apple-supported or community-supported way to programmatically add Swift Package dependencies to an Xcode project or workspace? Would love to know if anyone has: Used xcodebuild, xcodegen, or other tools for this Explored editing project files directly (like project.pbxproj or Package.resolved) Found any API or CLI hooks from Apple for this Thanks in advance!

how to inhibit -fprofile-instr-generate passed to linker
I'm struggling to build a driver for iPadOS in a particular project configuration. If I put the driver code and dext target into the same Xcode project which contains the iPad app, all is well. This is the way the Xcode driver template does it. However, I'd like to build and debug the dext on macOS, while eventually deploying on iPadOS. So I put the dext into a different project, which has a macOS target, a minimal iPadOS target and a DriverKit target. I made a workspace which contains both projects. I dragged the macOS project into the iPadOS project so that I can refer to the products of the macOS project (specifically, its driver target) as a dependency of the iPadOS target. Note that the main iPad app target depends on the driver target. So the workspace organization looks like this: Workspace iPad project main iPad app target (depends on driver) test project reference test project test macOS/iPad app target DriverKit dext target When I build the iPadOS target, it builds the dependent driver target in the macOS project, but it fails to link because Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/clang/15.0.0/lib/darwin/libclang_rt.profile_driverkit.a is not found. If I just build the driver target directly in Xcode, there is no such complaint. I looked closely at the build logs, and I see for the failed link, there are these two linker flags set which are not set in the successful case -debug_variant -fprofile-instr-generate I can't seem to control the generation of this flag. I tried turning off the Profile switch in the Scheme editor for the driver, but is makes no difference. When I directly build the driver target, no -fprofile-instr-generate is set and it compiles and links. When i build the driver as a dependency of another target, -fprofile-instr-generate is passed to the linker, which fails. The obvious workaround is to put the driver source code into a separate driver target in the iPadOS project, but I'd rather have just one DriverKit driver for both platforms, with a few settings (such as bundle ID) controlled by a configuration file. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and know of a workaround?

Icon dark mode not working on iPadOS
I updated the icons in Xcode to customize the appearance of my app icons to be light, dark, or tinted. The app is allowed to be downloaded and run on iPadOS. The app icon behaves as expected on iOS however the app icon does not change on the iPad. Am I missing a step for the iPad? To be clear the app does not target iPadOS rather it is just running the iOS version. Thanks kof

Distribution and Apple TV Question
Hi, This maybe somewhat confusing, but please bear with me. I currently have an app in the App Store that supports iOS and tvOS. But the tvOS version was a separate app during the development process. I'd like to combine the iOS and tvOS app into one project so its easier to handle and keep track of internally. Can I upload the new Apple TV version to the same place where the current one is, or would I have to delete the current Apple TV version before uploading the newly combined version? I hope I made that clear enough :-) Thank you, Dan Uff

Duplicate apps launched when debugging in Xcode?
I’ve noticed a strange bug in Xcode 16 and Swift. When a preview is rendering and hasn’t finished yet and you run an app to debug, Xcode is launching two instances of the app. Has anyone else noticed this issue? If you let the preview finish rendering before running the app, this doesn’t happen. Very odd.

Apple is behind with AI
It would be nice for Apple to integrate chatgpt, Open AI, and create their own artificial intelligence. Siri is not equipped to answer questions that AI can. With increasing AI prevalence and usability, Apple is behind. Message to Apple: PLEASE UTILIZE AI TO MAKE APPLE THE BEST PLATFORM.
