WatchOS app - installation not working
Hi everyone, I’ve been trying since yesterday to set up an Apple Watch app alongside my iOS app, but it’s not working at all. I created the app by adding a new target, selected watchOS > App, and linked it to my iOS project. When I run the Apple Watch scheme directly, the app works, but if I try to install it on my Apple Watch via the iOS app, it doesn’t work. Every time I tap install, I get a message saying that the installation failed. While reading the documentation, they mention an Info.plist file that is supposed to be generated with the watchOS app, but when I check, I don’t see any .plist file. Is that normal? Thanks for your help.

Apple Watch no longer connects reliably in Xcode
Hi all, I'm developing a standalone SwiftUI watchOS app (no iOS host or extension), targeting watchOS 11.5, and running into persistent connection issues with Xcode. Xcode rarely detects my Apple Watch (Series 7, watchOS 11.5) Sometimes it appears nested under the iPhone; most of the time, it doesn’t Errors include: "OS version is lower than the deployment target" (both are 11.5) "Unable to install... device not supported" "Connection error 4000", "Tunnel timeout error 1001" "Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on both machines" (Wi-Fi is on and on the same network) Once in a while, the app does install, but mostly I’m blocked. What I’ve Tried Verified pairing and trust Cleaned builds, nuked Derived Data and caches Reset iPhone privacy settings Removed and re-added my Apple ID Used xcrun xctrace list devices (watch inconsistently appears) Despite this, the app only installs about 5% of the time. Testing (or even running) on real hardware is nearly impossible, and has become incredibly frustrating for me. Any help or insights would be much appreciated.

In-App Purchase Popup Dialog Not Appearing
Hi - I've added in-app purchases (Quarterly and Yearly ) to my app and submitted it for TestFlight. The app is available, but in my Developer account, the in-app purchases section still shows the products as 'Waiting for Review.' When I test the app for in-app purchase, the dialog does not appear. Is this issue of "Approval" of the in-app purchase product? If YES, how can I get approval for these in-app purchase products? FYI: I have attached a screenshot of the in-app purchase products. Please suggest Thanks, Sushil

Posting a Crash Report
If you need help investigating a crash, please include a crash report in your post. To smooth things along, follow these guidelines: For information on how to get a crash report, see Acquiring crash reports and diagnostic logs. Include the whole crash report as a text attachment (click the paperclip icon and then choose Add File). This avoids clogging up the timeline while also preserving the wealth of information in the crash report. If you’re not able to post your crash report as an attachment, see Can’t Post Crash Report as Attachment below. If you want to highlight a section of the report, include it in the main body of your post. Put the snippet in a code block so that it renders nicely. To create a code block, add a delimiter line containing triple backquotes before and after the block, or just click the Code Block button. If possible, post an Apple crash report. Third-party crash reporters are often missing critical information and have general reliability problems (for an explanation as to why, see Implementing Your Own Crash Reporter). Symbolicate your crash report before posting it. For information on how to do this, see Adding identifiable symbol names to a crash report. If you need to redact the crash report, do so consistently. Imagine you’re building the WaffleVarnish app whose bundle ID is com.example.wafflevarnish but you want to keep your new waffle varnishing technology secret. Replace WaffleVarnish with WwwwwwVvvvvvv and com.example.wafflevarnish with com.eeeeeee.wwwwwwvvvvvvv. This keeps the text in the crash report aligned while making it possible to distinguish the human-readible name of the app (WaffleVarnish) from the bundle ID (com.example.wafflevarnish). Finally, for information on how to use a crash report to debug your own problems, see Diagnosing issues using crash reports and device logs. Can’t Post Crash Report as Attachment Crash reports have two common extensions: .crash and .ips. If you have an .ips file, please post that [1]. DevForums lets you attach a .crash file but not an .ips file (r. 117468172). To work around this, change the extension to .txt. If DevForums complains that your crash report “contains sensitive language”, leave it out of your initial post and attach it to a reply. That often avoids this roadblock. If you still can’t post your crash report, upload it to a file sharing service and include the URL in your post. Post the URL in the clear, per tip 14 in Quinn’s Top Ten DevForums Tips. Getting a Crash Report from the Xcode Organiser The Xcode organiser shows crash reports from customers. If you’re investigating such a crash and want to post a crash report: Navigate to the crash in the Xcode organiser. Note If you can’t see the right crash, check the filter popups at the top. In the list of crashes, secondary click on your crash and choose Show in Finder. That reveals the Xcode crashpoint document (.xccrashpoint) in the Finder. Secondary click on that and choose Show Package Contents. In the resulting Finder window, find a crash report (.crash) that accurately represents the crash you’re investigating and attach that to your forums post. Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” @ Developer Technical Support @ Apple let myEmail = "eskimo" + "1" + "@" + "apple.com" [1] Because it’s easy to go from an .ips file to a .crash file. I usually do this by choosing File > Quick Look in the Finder. For more info about these file formats, see this post. Revision History: 2025-08-29 Added the Getting a Crash Report from the Xcode Organiser section. 2024-11-21 Added a recommendation to post the .ips format if possible. 2024-05-21 Added some advice regarding the “contains sensitive language” message. 2023-10-25 Added the Can’t Post Crash Report as Attachment section. Made other minor editorial changes. 2021-08-26 First posted.

❗️SpeechAnalyzer.framework Not Found in Xcode 26 Beta 2 (17A5241o)
Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue trying to use the new SpeechAnalyzer framework announced at WWDC 2025. ❯ My Setup: • macOS: Sequoia 15.5 (Build 26.0 / macOS Tahoe Beta 26.0) • Xcode: 26.0 beta 2 (17A5241o) • Deployment Target: macOS 26.0 • Toolchain: Clang 17.0.0 (Apple) ❯ Problem: Despite following all setup requirements: • Setting macOS 26 as the deployment target • Using the latest Xcode 26 beta 2 • Running the correct developer toolchain (xcode-select is pointing to Xcode-beta) I still get the error: No such module 'SpeechAnalyzer' Additionally: • The SpeechAnalyzer.framework does not appear under /Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/ • It is also not listed in the Link Binary with Libraries pane. ❯ What I’ve Tried: • Clean builds • Deleted DerivedData • Verified SDK installation paths • Reinstalled Xcode 26 beta 2 • find search for SpeechAnalyzer.framework returned nothing ❯ Request: Has anyone successfully used SpeechAnalyzer in Xcode 26 beta 2 on macOS Sequoia/Tahoe? Is there a separate SDK or seed profile required to access this framework? Would appreciate any guidance from Apple engineers or other beta testers. Thanks! — Lalit Lakhara

Any downsides to convert groups to folders on "enterprise level app"?
Seems like converting groups into folders looks like a great way to clear up the project file and reduce merge conflicts for large teams, started trying it today and it even lead us to find some untracked/unused files in the project. This structure also seems to be the default now after Xcode 16. The question is, are there any downsides to converting groups to folders, the one ones that come to mind is losing Xcode virtual file ordering, which is no biggie. If you have an "enterprise level app" would love to hear your experience if your team decided to convert to a folder structure.

launchd_sim and AppleSpell deadlock
I've got a 2019 Intel iMac running Sequoia 15.4.1 and Xcode 16.3. Every time I try to view a storyboard Xcode locks up and beachballs on me. It takes minutes to load the file. When I force-quit Xcode, the report that shows up has this as the reason: Processes reached dispatch thread soft limit (64): launchd_sim [96305] [unique pid 194673], launchd_sim [96260] [unique pid 194628] Deadlock: AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df0c4 DispatchQueue 313 -> AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df0c4 DispatchQueue 313 Deadlock: AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df114 DispatchQueue 86 -> AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df114 DispatchQueue 86 Blocked by Deadlock: 1 task - AppleSpell [1494] I'm wondering, why is AppleSpell trying to spell-check a plist file? Is there any way to tell AppleSpell to ignore a file?

NO_CRASH_STACK with different number of crashes from the App Store.
Hello. For the last few months I have been facing a situation for which I do not understand either the reason or the solution. Here is an example for the last few weeks: In App Store Connect it shows 214 crashes for the last week In Xcode it shows 56 crashes for the last 2 weeks without stack traces (NO_CRASH_STACK) In Firebase Crashlytics there is not a single crash. When I click "Show in Finder" it opens a folder with .xccrashpoint files. As far as I understood from the instructions on posting crash reports - this is not what is needed. Interesting point: it looks like the errors occur on iOS 15-16 devices. I have several questions: Why is the number of crashes in Xcode different from the number in App Store Connect? Where are the other crashes? How can I understand what the problem is if there are no stack traces in Xcode?

Why can't Xcode projects be opened in multiple workspaces
So Xcode has projects. And I breakup my code/libraries/targets into those. So why after 20 years of Xcode, can a workspace, that holds projects not display the same project opened in another workspace? The workspace redirects all output the project would normally generate in DerivedData to a completely different folder by default. What this means is I have to shut one workspace, and then open the other workspace with a different set of projects to see the ones that are shared. The workspace can't build because it can't open the project shared with another one that is open. VS sln files don't have this issue, so why do workspace files.

Xcode JSONDecoder playground fails with 'The LLDB RPC server has crashed.
If I create a playground project that uses a JSONDecoder I get the following error. The LLDB RPC Server has crashed. The crash log is located at ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and has a prefix 'lldb-rpc-server'. Please file a bug and attach the most recent crash log. I have raised feedback for this, FB17702087, but I hope that there may be a workaround. The code I am using to try and get this to work is from The Apple Developer Documentation - JSON Decoder var greeting = "JSON Test 3" struct GroceryProduct: Codable { var name: String var points: Int var description: String? } let json = """ { "name": "Durian", "points": 600, "description": "A fruit with a distinctive scent." } """.data(using: .utf8)! let decoder = JSONDecoder() let product = try decoder.decode(GroceryProduct.self, from: json) print(product.name) // Prints "Durian" A screenshot of the playground showing the error The crash log (the file type has been changed to txt as ips file types cannot be selected for upload. lldb-rpc-server-2025-05-28-140832.txt

iOS beta 26 simulators will not in "Apple could not verify"
Apple could not verify “iPad_Air_M2_26.0_23A5260n_Restore.ipsw” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. xCode 26 fails to download simulators. I downloaded from the apple developer site. When I double click I get the above message. I went to the System Settings > GateKeeper, and selected Open Anyway. This poped up a window with a button, Open in xCode-bata. Clicking the button does not appear to do anything. I can not use xcode without simulators.

How to install beta2 simulators?
New betas of the platforms were released today (June 23), but I don't see any update for Xcode. Is there a way to get the Xcode 26 beta 1 to install the beta2 OSes for the simulator somehow? Or do we simply need to wait for an update?

CoreData in Swift Packages
I am having issues loading my model from a Swift Package with the following structure: | Package.swift | Sources | - | SamplePackage | - | - Core | - | - | - SamplePackageDataStack.swift | - | - | - DataModel.xcdatamodeld | - | - | - | - Model.xcdatamodel ( <- is this new? ) As mentioned, I am not required to list the xcdatamodeld as a resource in my Package manifest. iOS beta 26 simulators will not in "Apple could not verify"
