Alternatives to exports file for using Xcode frameworks in iOS
Hi, I have an iOS project with the following app targets: main iOS application a notification service extension 5 static libs containing some swift files with public methods 1 dynamic framework with above static libs as dependencies. The framework only contains 2 files - a default .h file and 1 .exp file. This exports file contains mangled-names of all the public methods that are exposed by the 5 static libs present as framework's dependencies. I obtained these symbols using the nm command for each static lib. The main iOS app target has 2 dependencies - the framework and the notification extension. The notification extension only depends on the framework. This setup works perfectly fine. I wanted to understand: If using the exports file is the only way to make this setup work? If not, what else can I do? What way does Apple recommend? According to my requirements, I only need at-most 2-3 functions to be exposed by the framework - thus using a exports file just for that seems to bug me. Thank you.

How to create a dylib for iOS project?
I want to create a dynamic library for my iOS project, which would be loaded at runtime. In Xcode, there are templates available for creating a static/dynamic lib for MacOS. But under the iOS tab, there is only a "static library" template. So, I used the "static library" template and in its build settings I changed the Mach-O type to "dynamic library". Now after building it, I use the file command on the generated file and it tells me it is a dynamic lib. But the generated file still has .a extension, which is usually for static libs. I'm aware we can tell Xcode in build settings to change the .a extension to something else, say .dylib but this seems like a hacky way to create a dynamic library. What is the correct way? I am aware that standalone dylibs are not supported on iOS, and we need to wrap them in a framework. For my use case, the framework will literally be a wrapper, it won't have any source files of its own. It should only contain the dynamic lib generated from some independent codebase. I am not sure how to place the dylib in the framework.

Portal of Apple for tracking health(crashes/hangs)
We are looking for a platform or portal provided by Apple that allows us to track crashes, hangs, or other runtime issues faced by users while using our iOS/macOS application. This is similar to how we currently use Windows Error Reporting (WER) for our Windows application. Important note: Our application is not distributed via the Apple App Store — it is delivered through enterprise distribution or ad-hoc provisioning.

Flutter: abnormal delay on iOS in position recovery on first opening
Good morning everyone, I am developing a Flutter app for Android and iOS. When I press a button, the app detects the location of the device (obviously with permissions already granted). On Android everything works correctly. On iOS, however, when I press the button for the first time after opening the app, the location is detected after about 30-50 seconds. On the other hand, if I repeat the operation later, the response time is drastically reduced (only a few seconds). I am using the location package (https://pub.dev/packages/location), and the code to get the location is as follows: var currentLocation = await location.getLocation(); Has anyone experienced this problem before or knows how to solve it? Thank you very much! Federico

Inconsistency in returning nanoseconds in /bin/date
I am using macOS’s /bin/date command, both in Terminal and via AppleScript (do shell script). I noticed inconsistent behaviour with the %N format specifier for nanoseconds: • On some Macs, date +%s%N returns numeric nanoseconds as expected. • On other Macs, the same command returns a literal N or fails when coerced to a number. • This occurs across different macOS versions and on both Intel and Apple Silicon machines. My understanding is that macOS ships BSD date, which does not officially document %N. I am trying to determine: 1. Is %N in /bin/date officially supported on macOS, and if so, on which versions? 2. If %N is not supported, what is Apple’s recommended, portable method for obtaining sub-second or millisecond timestamps in shell scripts or AppleScript across all macOS versions?

Is there a way for two users to make development builds on separate accounts for one app?
Tech stack: React Native + Expo. We are using two solo developer accounts (not a business or team account). Context: Friend and I set out to make an app together. Friend created app and set it up on Apple. We worked on it together. He controlled devops (builds and submission). Friend no longer can commit to development. Wants to transfer to me. I create apple developer account. After app transfer, my phone (deviceid) underwent a 14 day soft ban preventing builds. That has since been lifted. There seems to be something in place preventing me from making dev builds on the original dev bundleid. It says it's still owned by him despite the app transfer. Bottom line: what needs to happen so I can make dev builds? Nice to have: we can both make dev builds under the same bundleid

NSUbiquitousContainers
I'm using Xcode 16.3 and I want to add the key "NSUbiquitousContainers" but I cannot do it in the Entitlements file, it should be in info.plist file! I have done it before but in previous versions of Xcode when the info.plist was in the project navigator. However, now I cannot find the file and I did not find any way to create it! Please guide me in detail how to proceed (I'm not new to Swift or SwiftUI but not familiar to project settings)?

The signature of cannot be validated and may have been compromised
I'm currently developing a Unity game for iPad and have run into a critical issue that's completely blocking me from building the project. The project uses the Mapbox SDK for Unity. Everything was working fine during today test build on the iPad. I made minor changes - just four scripts, then attempted another build. However, Xcode began showing the following error: The signature of “MapboxCommon.xcframework” cannot be validated and may have been compromised. Validation Error: The signing certificate has been revoked (CSSMERR_TP_CERT_REVOKED) This error now occurs consistently. I've tried building on a different MacBook and with a different Apple account, but the result is the same. I haven't made any changes to the Mapbox framework, nor have I updated it recently. I'm trying to determine the root cause: Is this something I've done on my end? Or is it an issue with the Mapbox framework or their signing certificate? Is there a temporary workaround that would allow me to proceed with development builds while I investigate a proper fix? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

libclang_rt.profile_driverkit.a' not found
Hi guys! I have gone through an absolute nightmare, trying to solve the issue that I am about to tell you about. As the title says, I am getting the error: Library '/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/clang/17/lib/darwin/libclang_rt.profile_driverkit.a' not found I trimmed off part of that directory as I did not want to reveal that information about my computer. From what I can tell, the file in question is no longer even a part of Xcode. I have searched, it is not on my computer anywhere. I have also downloaded older versions of Xcode to search with it. None of them have it. I have literally tried everything under the Son to solve this issue. I have been stuck on it for two days. I have even resorted to doing something I hate, which is asking for ChatGPT to assist me with solving the issue. No help there. I am at my wits end. So I am coming to you guys, have you seen this error? Any ideas at all? The odds are pretty good whatever you recommend I have probably already tried 200 times over. But I am still open to hearing anything. Have any of you had this error? Any ideas? I am on the latest version of macOS. The project is for a macOS app. M4 Mac mini. Any additional information I can provide, that will be helpful? At this point, I am leaning more towards this being a bug with Xcode than anything.

Where's the replacement for Quartz Debug?
Hi, This can't be right. Is there really no replacement for Quartz Debug?!? As the sole developer on a project who has an Intel Mac and Quartz Debug, I am basically a god now. Everyone else has Apple Silicon and... I think they're randomly guessing at this point. Because I have entire teams sending me Intel Mac builds of stuff just so I can test it in QD. This is THE TOOL we used at NewTek to find performance issues, and THE TOOL I used for a dozen companies after that, to help them with similar issues. If there's no replacement, is there a reason there's no replacement? This feels like a massive step backwards, having to guess at problems like this. -Chilton

Error build expo EAS
I'm trying to create a new build from VSC through EAS (expo) but it's failing and returning the error I'm attaching. I'm running the command eas build --profile preview --platform ios. I have an "App Manager" account, my colleague has the same role and he can do builds normally. I have other permissions and accesses ok, as can be seen in the attached picture, but apparently I have the issue in "register bundle identifier". Does anyone faced the same issue? How can I solve this? What step I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

Unable to get a new API Key
When I try to get a new API Key I get the following error. "API Keys cannot be created due to an invalid Program License Agreement. Please update this agreement and try your request again." I have been to the agreement section, and it says: "Issued October 8, 2025. Accepted November 19, 2025." Any idea why I still get this error?? Not sure if that makes a difference. I had a paid account, but I didn't renew it because I don't need it anymore, and I was told that I can still use this account for free for app testing.

Information about legacy (new app)
Hello I developed an app for my cousin (I wrote all the code myself), but she’ll be the one managing it once it’s published. She’ll take care of the content, updates, and anything admin-related. Right now, the app uses my Firebase account and my Apple Developer account (App Store Connect), which I set up at the start of the project. I’m wondering: • Am I at risk legally or financially if the accounts stay under my name, even though I won’t be involved in the app after release? • Is it possible to migrate the project to her email, meaning transfer Firebase and the Apple Developer account to her own account, so that everything is properly under her control? Thanks in advance for any insights or experiences
