The NSTextViewDelegate method textViewDidChangeSelection(:) will not fire, while all other text view delegate methods do.
I am trying to implement the NSTextViewDelegate function textViewDidChangeSelection(_ notification: Notification). My text view's delegate is the Coordinator of my NSViewRepresentable. I've found that this delegate function never fires, but any other delegate function that I implement, as long as it doesn't take a Notification as an argument, does fire (e.g., textView(:willChangeSelectionFromCharacterRange:toCharacterRange:), fires and is called on the delegate exactly when it should be). For context, I've verified all of the below: textView.isSelectable = true textView.isEditable = true textView.delegate === my coordinator I can call textViewDidChangeSelection(:) directly on the delegate without issue. I can select and edit text without issues. I.e., the selections are being set correctly. But the delegate method is never called when they are. I am able to add the intended delegate as an observer for the selector textViewDidChangeSelection via NotificationCenter. If I do this, the function executes when it should, but fires for every text view in my view hierarchy, which can number in the hundreds. I'm using an NSLayoutManager, so I figure this should only fire once. I've added a check within my code: func textViewDidChangeSelection(_ notification: Notification) { guard let textView = notification.object as? NSTextView, textView === layoutManager.firstTextView else { return } // Any code I want to execute... } But the above guard check lets through every notification, so, no matter what, my closure executes hundreds of times if I have hundreds of text views, all of them being sent by textView === layoutManager.firstTextView, but once for each and every text view managed by that layoutManager. Does anyone know why this method isn't ever called on the delegate, while seemingly all other delegate methods are? I could go the NotificationCenter route, but I'd love to know why this won't execute as a delegate method when documentation says that it should, and I don't want to have to implement a counter to make sure my code only executes once per selection update. And for more reasons than that, implementing via delegate method is preferable to using notifications for my use case. Thanks for any help!

cannot save event
iOS 18.4.1 When I change a Google type event to an iCloud type, a "Cannot Save Event" prompt box pops up. We have also received user feedback that recurring events also fail to save. After updating to iOS 18.4 when trying to save changes to an existing repeating event, the message "Cannot Save Event" will appear. EventKitUI

FamilyActivityTitleView Label has wrong text color when app is using different than system theme
Hello, In a new app I am working on I noticed the FamilyActivityTitleView that displays "ApplicationToken" has wrong (black) color when phone is set to light mode but app is using dark mode via override. We display user's selected apps and the labels are rendered correctly at first, but then when user updates selection with FamilyActivityPicker, then those newly added apps are rendered with black titles. The problem goes away when I close the screen and open it again. It also doesn't happen when phone is set to dark theme. I am currently noticing the issue on iOS 18.4.1. I have tried various workarounds like forcing white text in the custom label style, forcing re-render with custom .id value but nothing helped. Is there any way how to fix this?

Lists, Generics, Views, Navigation Link, SwiftData - ForEach can't pass a binding anymore.
I'm trying out putting most of my business logic in a Protocol that my @Model can conform to, but I'm running into a SwiftUI problem with a Binding that does not get magically offered up like it does when it the subview is not generic. I have a pretty basic List with a ForEach that now can't properly pass to a generic view based on a protocol. When I try to make a binding manually in the row it says that "item is immutable"... but that also doesn't help me with the NavigationLink? Which is seeing the Binding not the ? But before when the subview was concrete to Thing, it took in the and made its own Binding once it hit the view. I'm unclear on precisely where the change happens and what I can do to work around it. Before I go rearchitecting everything... is there a fix to get the NavigationLink to take on the object like before? What needs to be different? I've tried a number of crazy inits on the subview and they all seem to come back to saying either it can't figure out how to pass the type or I'm trying to use the value before it's been initialized. Have I characterized the problem correctly? Thanks! Hover effect in Custom UIKit Views
I am adapting my custom UI Framework for visionOS, and I'm wondering if it is going to be possible to detect hover over different UI elements within my view. The UI Framework draws to a Metal layer in a UIView. I don't currently support uihovergesturerecognizer on the view but I guess this wouldn't help, since you don't get coordinates. I can imagine an unpleasant solution might be to add invisible UIControls for each of my custom controls that are drawn in my own framework.

CollectionViewCell switch back to single column once UImage is assigned
Hi I am building a simple multi column CollectionView here and trying to add 3 cell in a row. Well, in short the column and rows looks all fine if I comment the below code. which is no image and text assigned to cells. let framework = list[indexPath.item] cell.configure(framework) However, once uncommented, only a single cell is displayed per row and the image doesn't seem to be resizing automatically. App Crashes on Paper Selection After Background Printer Connection
Description: When initiating the print flow via UIPrintInteractionController, and no printer is initially connected, iOS displays all possible paper sizes in the paper selection UI. However, if a printer connects in the background after this view is shown, the list of paper sizes does not automatically refresh to reflect only the options supported by the connected printer. If the user selects an incompatible paper size (one not supported by the printer that has just connected), the app crashes due to an invalid configuration. Steps to Reproduce: Launch the app and navigate to the print functionality. Tap the Print button to invoke UIPrintInteractionController. At this point, no printer is yet connected. iOS displays all available paper sizes. While the paper selection UI is visible, the AirPrint-compatible printer connects in the background. Without dismissing the controller, the user selects a paper size (e.g., one that is not supported by the printer). The app crashes. Expected Result: App should not crash Once the printer becomes available (connected in the background), the paper size options should refresh automatically. The list should be filtered to only include sizes that are compatible with the connected printer. This prevents the user from selecting an invalid option, avoiding crashes. Actual Result: App crashes The paper size list remains unfiltered. The user can still select unsupported paper sizes. Selecting an incompatible option causes the app to crash, due to a mismatch between UI selection and printer capability.

tvOS: Using .onExitCommand to Navigate to Home Tab Before Exiting — Is This Acceptable?
Hi Apple Developer Team, In my tvOS app built with SwiftUI, I have a tab-based interface with several sections. The first tab (index 0) is the Home tab. Other tabs include Contact, WiFi, Welcome, etc. I want to handle the remote's Menu / Back button (.onExitCommand) so that: If the user is on any tab other than Home (tabs 1, 2, 3, etc.), pressing the Menu button takes them back to the Home tab. If the user is already on the Home tab, then pressing the TV/Home button (not Menu) behaves as expected — suspending or exiting the app (handled by the system, no code involved). SwiftUI List - onInsert not called on iOS (works on macOS)
I am working with a simple SwiftUI List and I want to enable functionality that allows files and images to be dropped onto the List from outside the app. There is an onInsert modifier with List that allows for this, but I found that it works on macOS, but not when running the same view on iOS. I have sample code that I can't seem to post on this forum because it keeps giving me a validation error about "This post contains sensitive language". Apple Pay
I'm implementing Apple Pay in a Flutter iOS app using the pay plugin and Braintree as the payment processor. I have followed all necessary steps as outlined by Apple and community resources (e.g., Medium articles, official Apple Developer documentation), but the Apple Pay button does not appear on a real device. Here's what I've completed: Created an Apple Pay Merchant ID Created and downloaded the Apple Pay Payment Processing Certificate, then uploaded it to Braintree Downloaded the Braintree-signed certificate and confirmed it's active in the Apple Developer portal Added the Merchant ID under Signing & Capabilities in Xcode Enabled Apple Pay capability in Xcode Added the Merchant ID to Info.plist Installed required Flutter packages (e.g., pay) Using a valid Apple Pay payment configuration file in Flutter (see below) Tested on a real iOS device with a valid Apple Pay test card added to Wallet Flutter Payment Configuration (in Dart JSON): json Copy Edit { "provider": "apple_pay", "data": { "merchantIdentifier": "merchant.com.example", "displayName": "My Store", "merchantCapabilities": ["3DS", "debit", "credit"], "supportedNetworks": ["visa", "masterCard", "amex"], "countryCode": "US", "currencyCode": "USD" } } Despite this complete setup, the ApplePayButton widget remains invisible There are no errors in the console. NSTableView.clickedRow sometimes is greater than number of rows
Xcode has been downloading many similar crash reports for my app for some time now, related to an index out of range runtime exception when accessing a Swift array. The crashes always happen in methods triggered by user input or during menu item validation when I try to access the data source array by using the following code to determine the indexes of the relevant table rows: let indexes = clickedRow == -1 || selectedRowIndexes.contains(clickedRow) ? selectedRowIndexes : IndexSet(integer: clickedRow) I was never able to reproduce the crash until today. When the app crashed in the Xcode debugger, I examined the variables clickedRow and selectedRowIndexes.first, which were 1 and 0 respectively. What's interesting: the table view only contained one row, so clickedRow was effectively invalid. I tried to reproduce the issue several times afterwards, but it never happened again. What could cause this issue? What are the circumstances where it is invalid? Do I always have to explicitly check if clickedRow is within the data source range?

List Layout Breaks in NavigationStack When a View Exceeds Screen Width
This is a bug report. FB17433985 The layout of the following ContentView appears correctly when it is outside a NavigationStack. However, when the same view is placed inside a NavigationStack, the layout breaks. It seems that the width of the List is being affected by the width of the buttonsView, which exceeds the screen width. In my testing, this issue occurs on iOS 18.4 and later, but does not occur on iOS 18.2 or iOS 17.5. Regarding ARKit camera feed zoom and macro support for closer object
I am currently developing an AR experience using ARKit with SceneKit and am looking to implement functionality that enables: Zooming into the AR camera feed, ideally leveraging the ultra-wide or telephoto lenses available on supported devices. Macro-style focus capabilities, allowing users to view and interact with virtual content closely aligned with small or nearby real-world objects (within a few centimeters). My objective is to ensure that ARKit continues to render the scene accurately while enabling a zoomed-in view or macro-level focus for better detail visibility and alignment. Could you please advise on: Whether ARKit currently supports camera zoom or allows access to macro or ultra-wide cameras within an ARSession. Enabling Show Tab Bar Programmatically
I have a macOS application developed in SwiftUI. It's a document-based application. I know how to hide the Show Tab Bar command under View. I don't want to hide it. I always want to show tabs. I wonder how to enable this command programmatically such that the document window always has the + button to the right. Thanks.

ARView rotation animation changes when coming back to it from a navigationLink
I have an app that uses RealityKit and ARKit, which includes some capturing features (to capture and image with added Entities). I have a navigationLink that allows the user to see the gallery of the images he has taken. When launching the App, the rotation animation of the ARView happens smoothly, the navigationBar transitions from one orientation to another with the ARView keeping it's orientation. However, when I go to the galeryView to see the images and go back to the root view where the ARView is, the rotation animation of the ARView changed: When transitioning from one orientation to another, the ARView is flipped by 90° before transitioning to the new orientation. Dynamic island not displaying UI views

Does anyone know why this method isn't ever called on the delegate, while seemingly all other delegate methods are? I could go the NotificationCenter route, but I'd love to know why this won't execute as a delegate method when documentation says that it should, and I don't want to have to implement a counter to make sure my code only executes once per selection update. And for more reasons than that, implementing via delegate method is preferable to using notifications for my use case. Thanks for any help!

cannot save event
iOS 18.4.1 When I change a Google type event to an iCloud type, a "Cannot Save Event" prompt box pops up. We have also received user feedback that recurring events also fail to save. FamilyActivityTitleView Label has wrong text color when app is using different than system theme
Hello, In a new app I am working on I noticed the FamilyActivityTitleView that displays "ApplicationToken" has wrong (black) color when phone is set to light mode but app is using dark mode via override. We display user's selected apps and the labels are rendered correctly at first, but then when user updates selection with FamilyActivityPicker, then those newly added apps are rendered with black titles. The problem goes away when I close the screen and open it again. It also doesn't happen when phone is set to dark theme. I am currently noticing the issue on iOS 18.4.1. I have tried various workarounds like forcing white text in the custom label style, forcing re-render with custom .id value but nothing helped. Is there any way how to fix this?

Lists, Generics, Views, Navigation Link, SwiftData - ForEach can't pass a binding anymore.
I'm trying out putting most of my business logic in a Protocol that my @Model can conform to, but I'm running into a SwiftUI problem with a Binding that does not get magically offered up like it does when it the subview is not generic. I have a pretty basic List with a ForEach that now can't properly pass to a generic view based on a protocol. When I try to make a binding manually in the row it says that "item is immutable"... but that also doesn't help me with the NavigationLink? Which is seeing the Binding not the ? But before when the subview was concrete to Thing, it took in the and made its own Binding once it hit the view. I'm unclear on precisely where the change happens and what I can do to work around it. Before I go rearchitecting everything... is there a fix to get the NavigationLink to take on the object like before? What needs to be different? I've tried a number of crazy inits on the subview and they all seem to come back to saying either it can't figure out how to pass the type or I'm trying to use the value before it's been initialized. Have I characterized the problem correctly? Thanks! Hover effect in Custom UIKit Views
I am adapting my custom UI Framework for visionOS, and I'm wondering if it is going to be possible to detect hover over different UI elements within my view. The UI Framework draws to a Metal layer in a UIView. I don't currently support uihovergesturerecognizer on the view but I guess this wouldn't help, since you don't get coordinates. I can imagine an unpleasant solution might be to add invisible UIControls for each of my custom controls that are drawn in my own framework.

CollectionViewCell switch back to single column once UImage is assigned
Hi I am building a simple multi column CollectionView here and trying to add 3 cell in a row. App Crashes on Paper Selection After Background Printer Connection
Description: When initiating the print flow via UIPrintInteractionController, and no printer is initially connected, iOS displays all possible paper sizes in the paper selection UI. However, if a printer connects in the background after this view is shown, the list of paper sizes does not automatically refresh to reflect only the options supported by the connected printer. If the user selects an incompatible paper size (one not supported by the printer that has just connected), the app crashes due to an invalid configuration. Steps to Reproduce: Launch the app and navigate to the print functionality. Tap the Print button to invoke UIPrintInteractionController. At this point, no printer is yet connected. iOS displays all available paper sizes. While the paper selection UI is visible, the AirPrint-compatible printer connects in the background. Without dismissing the controller, the user selects a paper size (e.g., one that is not supported by the printer). The app crashes. Expected Result: App should not crash Once the printer becomes available (connected in the background), the paper size options should refresh automatically. The list should be filtered to only include sizes that are compatible with the connected printer. This prevents the user from selecting an invalid option, avoiding crashes. Actual Result: App crashes The paper size list remains unfiltered. The user can still select unsupported paper sizes. Selecting an incompatible option causes the app to crash, due to a mismatch between UI selection and printer capability.

tvOS: Using .onExitCommand to Navigate to Home Tab Before Exiting — Is This Acceptable?
Hi Apple Developer Team, In my tvOS app built with SwiftUI, I have a tab-based interface with several sections. The first tab (index 0) is the Home tab. Other tabs include Contact, WiFi, Welcome, etc. I want to handle the remote's Menu / Back button (.onExitCommand) so that: If the user is on any tab other than Home (tabs 1, 2, 3, etc.), pressing the Menu button takes them back to the Home tab. If the user is already on the Home tab, then pressing the TV/Home button (not Menu) behaves as expected — suspending or exiting the app (handled by the system, no code involved). SwiftUI List - onInsert not called on iOS (works on macOS)
I am working with a simple SwiftUI List and I want to enable functionality that allows files and images to be dropped onto the List from outside the app. There is an onInsert modifier with List that allows for this, but I found that it works on macOS, but not when running the same view on iOS. I have sample code that I can't seem to post on this forum because it keeps giving me a validation error about "This post contains sensitive language". I'm implementing Apple Pay in a Flutter iOS app using the pay plugin and Braintree as the payment processor. I have followed all necessary steps as outlined by Apple and community resources (e.g., Medium articles, official Apple Developer documentation), but the Apple Pay button does not appear on a real device. CarPlay and iOS 18.5, app crashes if the mobile one is not running
Hi, after upgrading to iOS 18.5 our app crashes in CarPlay. Only when the app is running on our mobile the carplay app works fine. If we run the same app in mobiles with iOS < 18.5 everything works. What has changed in iOS 18.5? Thanks

NSTableView.clickedRow sometimes is greater than number of rows
Xcode has been downloading many similar crash reports for my app for some time now, related to an index out of range runtime exception when accessing a Swift array. The crashes always happen in methods triggered by user input or during menu item validation when I try to access the data source array by using the following code to determine the indexes of the relevant table rows: let indexes = clickedRow == -1 || selectedRowIndexes.contains(clickedRow) ? selectedRowIndexes : IndexSet(integer: clickedRow) I was never able to reproduce the crash until today. When the app crashed in the Xcode debugger, I examined the variables clickedRow and selectedRowIndexes.first, which were 1 and 0 respectively. What's interesting: the table view only contained one row, so clickedRow was effectively invalid. I tried to reproduce the issue several times afterwards, but it never happened again. What could cause this issue? What are the circumstances where it is invalid? Do I always have to explicitly check if clickedRow is within the data source range?

List Layout Breaks in NavigationStack When a View Exceeds Screen Width
This is a bug report. FB17433985 The layout of the following ContentView appears correctly when it is outside a NavigationStack. However, when the same view is placed inside a NavigationStack, the layout breaks. It seems that the width of the List is being affected by the width of the buttonsView, which exceeds the screen width. In my testing, this issue occurs on iOS 18.4 and later, but does not occur on iOS 18.2 or iOS 17.5. Regarding ARKit camera feed zoom and macro support for closer object
I am currently developing an AR experience using ARKit with SceneKit and am looking to implement functionality that enables: Zooming into the AR camera feed, ideally leveraging the ultra-wide or telephoto lenses available on supported devices. Macro-style focus capabilities, allowing users to view and interact with virtual content closely aligned with small or nearby real-world objects (within a few centimeters). My objective is to ensure that ARKit continues to render the scene accurately while enabling a zoomed-in view or macro-level focus for better detail visibility and alignment. ARView rotation animation changes when coming back to it from a navigationLink
I have an app that uses RealityKit and ARKit, which includes some capturing features (to capture and image with added Entities). I have a navigationLink that allows the user to see the gallery of the images he has taken. When launching the App, the rotation animation of the ARView happens smoothly, the navigationBar transitions from one orientation to another with the ARView keeping it's orientation. However, when I go to the galeryView to see the images and go back to the root view where the ARView is, the rotation animation of the ARView changed: When transitioning from one orientation to another, the ARView is flipped by 90° before transitioning to the new orientation. Dynamic island not displaying UI views
