Hello, We are experiencing a behavior change with WKWebView related to upgradeKnownHostsToHTTPS. Current application, we explicitly disable automatic HTTPS upgrades: let config = WKWebViewConfiguration() config.upgradeKnownHostsToHTTPS = false Observed behavior iOS 17.5 (built with Xcode 15.3) http:// image URLs are not automatically upgraded to https://, and the behavior works as expected. iOS 18.5 / 18.6.x (built with Xcode 16.4) http:// image URLs appear to be automatically upgraded to https:// by WebKit, even when upgradeKnownHostsToHTTPS is explicitly set to false. This behavior occurs for subresource requests such as <img src="http://..."> inside a WKWebView. Question Has the behavior of upgradeKnownHostsToHTTPS changed in iOS 18 / Xcode 16? Is this property now ignored for certain types of subresource requests (e.g. images), or overridden by new WebKit security policies such as mixed-content HTTPS upgrades? Any clarification or official guidance would be greatly appreciated!.

Bit of an odd one here, just keen to understand if it’s just me or a more generic issue. For all other apps, I can drag the icon from the dock to place into stage manager left, centre or right. However when I try to do the same with Safari (and only Safari), it just doesn’t work at all. I can repeat this 100%, has been an issue with 26.0, 26.1 and now 26.2. How did you test apple-app-site-association in non-production environments that are usually not public?

I’m encountering an issue on iOS when rendering a list using React. Each list item uses the array index as the React key and consists of two parts: a header section that uses position: sticky for dynamic sticking behavior, and a body section whose height is automatically adjusted based on its content. Hi all, I'm developing an application that uses WKWebView to display a web application which I augment with iOS native utilities such as Speech to Text and IAP. The application also uses Service workers, so we define AppBound Domains in the info.plist file. Everything works for this, but when we deploy on a device the application will crash and say we need these entitlements com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking, com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering, com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent, com.apple.runningboard.assertions.webkit From what I can see, we do need all of them. However Apple suggest submitting a request to be an Altnerative Browser (https://developer.apple.com/support/alternative-browser-engines) This is not appropriate for the application in my view since one requirement of being an alternative browser is that you don't modify the resources on the web site - we of course do since we inject javascript in order to bridge between iOS and the contents of the webview. How are people navigating this issue? I assumed it would be common given the use of Tauri etc. to build similar types of applications, but I don't see much about it. Thank you!

I am new to PHP. I have developed my own web site with a lot of javascript in simple HTML files. I want to do some extensions with PHP but I can't make a simple web page function. Description: In our app, we have login page which displayed in WKWebView. In that page, there is an Remember my Device cookie option which user can select, so next time it OTP page will not be displayed. Problem Statement: Recently we found that some issue happened with this cookie. Especially, when users upgraded their OS versions to 18.6 or 26.1 or 26.2. Hello, I followed the instructions to set up a custom logo for our domain name Allogarage.fr, both for the brand and the domain. Everything appears to be correctly configured in Apple Business backend for several weeks now, but the logo still doesn’t show up in Mail. Is the branded email feature available in France? Are there any additional steps required?

At present, it is not possible to use deep linking without suffering the Smart banner being injected by Safari on each affected web page. This makes the experience of users choosing to browse an associated website significantly poorer as they have to see a Smart banner at the top of each page. People know there is an app store and an app – they don't need constantly reminding like it is still 2010. Anyone know where a relevant plea can be made to Apple to provide an alternative mechanism here as it damages the ethos of being able to simply use a web browser

Hello, I am developing a Mac application via Mac Catalyst and encountering an issue with WKWebView. Specifically, I'm loading a webpage (e.g., https://translate.google.com) in WKWebView, but when I press the copy button on the page, the content doesn't actually copy to the clipboard. I've attempted modifying the UserAgent without any success. i have programmed a website and struggle to get it to work on safari ios26. 100vh fixed positioned images do not fill the screen anymore. i could live with that, having two background coloured spaces at the top and at the bottom. but elements that scroll out of this new viewport are fully visible, as you can see on the enclosed screenshots. i have no idea how i could fix this and dont find any answer anywhere on the net?

I've been using Sign In with Apple for Web for the last six months, and it works well enough. Now, I'm updating the domain of the main application (we got the .com! yeah!) However, I can't find a way in the configuration UI to update the allowed redirect URLs for the application. I go to Identifiers -> My App -> Capabilities -> Sign In with Apple -> Edit button. It just allows me to edit whether this is a primary ID, or grouped ID, plus a callback URL (which I'm not currently using.)

To reproduce this behavior in Chrome: 1.In Chrome, search “Import password from Safari.” 2.Restart Chrome. 3.Go to Chrome → Settings → Safari import → Import to Chrome → Go to settings. 4.You will see it opens Settings → Apps → Safari. Is there any supported mechanism in Safari Web Extensions (MV3) for capturing or logging network request data (like fetch, XHR, or webRequest) triggered by the web page?

I integrated Apple Pay on the web following the documentation, and verified that the payment works successfully in the sandbox environment using Safari on iOS and Mac. Later, I launched the Apple Pay payment code on a third-party web page that supports Apple Pay, and scanned the code with the camera of an eligible iOS device. The camera then displayed the Apple Pay button; after tapping it, a brief pop-up message saying ‘Service Unavailable’ appeared, and then it closed automatically. How can I troubleshoot and resolve this issue?

Hello from Leipzig, Germany! I noticed that when vertically scrolling in Safari 26 on my Mac, the content of the website I am currently working on is visible in the tab and URL bar with a liquid glass effect. I then looked at various other websites. Some websites have an opaque top bar. Some websites have a transparent top bar where content is visible when scrolling. On the Apple website, the top bar is opaque in light mode but transparent in dark mode. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to control this behavior. Has anyone found out more about this?
