Launching MacOS app via Url Scheme
I'm looking for answer or documentation on gatekeeper and launching a MacOS app via a url scheme/custom protocol. Our application is delivered via a zip file downloaded from the web. We utilize a url scheme. The act of extracting the app from the zip registers the url scheme with the OS. From previous research/testing we found we had to break the gatekeeper lock (have the user move the app from the downloaded location) to ensure that the url is honored on first launch of the application. To ensure user compliance, we added a check to make sure that the lock has been removed by looking at the quarantine attribute. This flow is not ideal. I am looking for alternatives and was previously under the impression that if we were to move to a DMG then that would provide the user a better user experience for moving it. However, now that I am getting around to looking into it, I am seeing some implied statements that this is not the case and that the quarantine bit will just be moved from the DMG to the app. Questions: Does a DMG allow the app to be launched via custom protocol without prior launch or movement? With a notarized app, will the custom protocol work on a subsequent launch, even without prior movement?

Accessing WKNavigationAction.sourceFrame.request crashes
Hi all, I'm currently working with WKWebView and implementing the WKNavigationDelegate protocol. In particular, I'm trying to inspect the sourceFrame of a WKNavigationAction to make navigation policy decisions based on the frame's URL path. Here's the relevant Swift code inside decidePolicyFor: public func webView(_ webView: WKWebView, decidePolicyFor navigationAction: WKNavigationAction, preferences: WKWebpagePreferences, decisionHandler: @escaping (WKNavigationActionPolicy, WKWebpagePreferences) -> Void) { // ... let sourceFrame: WKFrameInfo = navigationAction.sourceFrame let request: URLRequest = sourceFrame.request // <- SIGABRT occurs here // ... } The issue is that the app crashes with a SIGABRT at runtime when attempting to access sourceFrame.request. According to Swift's type system, neither sourceFrame nor its request property are optional, so at first glance this seems safe. However, the crash report suggests otherwise. From the crash log, it appears that the issue arises during the bridging from Objective-C to Swift: Thread 1 Queue : com.apple.main-thread (serial) #0 0x00000001a127a030 in static Foundation.URLRequest._unconditionallyBridgeFromObjectiveC(Swift.Optional<__C.NSURLRequest>) -> Foundation.URLRequest () #1 0x00000001056c48b0 in CustomWebViewController.webView(_:decidePolicyFor:preferences:decisionHandler:) #2 0x00000001056c4c78 in @objc CustomWebViewController.webView(_:decidePolicyFor:preferences:decisionHandler:) () #3 0x00000001b8c66e0c in WebKit::NavigationState::NavigationClient::decidePolicyForNavigationAction () #4 0x00000001b8fd14dc in WebKit::WebPageProxy::decidePolicyForNavigationAction () #5 0x00000001b8fcfc7c in WebKit::WebPageProxy::decidePolicyForNavigationActionAsyncShared () #6 0x00000001b8fcfb18 in WebKit::WebPageProxy::decidePolicyForNavigationActionAsync () #7 0x00000001b87ddaa0 in WebKit::WebPageProxy::didReceiveMessage () #8 0x00000001b869f474 in IPC::MessageReceiverMap::dispatchMessage () #9 0x00000001b878dda4 in WebKit::WebProcessProxy::dispatchMessage () #10 0x00000001b878d614 in WebKit::WebProcessProxy::didReceiveMessage () #11 0x00000001b869e7e4 in IPC::Connection::dispatchMessage () #12 0x00000001b869e358 in IPC::Connection::dispatchIncomingMessages () #13 0x00000001b9a96a44 in WTF::RunLoop::performWork () #14 0x00000001b9a96688 in WTF::RunLoop::performWork () #15 0x00000001a2428b9c in __CFRUNLOOP_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_SOURCE0_PERFORM_FUNCTION__ () #16 0x00000001a24289b4 in __CFRunLoopDoSource0 () #17 0x00000001a2428810 in __CFRunLoopDoSources0 () #18 0x00000001a2429190 in __CFRunLoopRun () #19 0x00000001a242ad4c in CFRunLoopRunSpecific () #20 0x00000001ef705454 in GSEventRunModal () #21 0x00000001a4e45890 in -[UIApplication _run] () #22 0x00000001a4e10cec in UIApplicationMain () #23 0x00000001a4ef261c in ___lldb_unnamed_symbol275689 () #24 0x00000001059a5104 in static UIApplicationDelegate.main() () #25 0x00000001059a5074 in static AppDelegate.$main() () #26 0x00000001059a82ec in main () #27 0x00000001c940af0c in start () This implies that while Swift treats sourceFrame.request as non-optional, the underlying Objective-C implementation may actually return nil—leading to a crash when the non-optional Swift type attempts to force unwrap it. My question: Is there a way to safely access navigationAction.sourceFrame.request —- or determine if it’s nil—before Swift attempts the implicit bridging from Objective-C? Or is there an established workaround for safely inspecting this property? Any guidance or best practices for avoiding this crash would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

WKWebView requires authentication
I use WKWebView to display a webpage that requires authentication through an authentication provider. This works as expected, but when I close and reopen the app, I have to reauthenticate. However, if I open the same page in Safari, I only have to authenticate once. If I close Safari and reopen it, the page displays without prompting me to authenticate again. I see some cookies stored in httpCookieStore, so I assume that storing cookies works. Does anyone have an idea why authentication is not persistent between app launches? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Marc

header and footer positions shifted in Safari tab settings
Thank you for supporting me. My environment Device: iPhone 15 Pro OS: iOS 26.0 Public Beta (23A5336a) In iOS 26, three types of tabs were added to Safari. Depending on the option, the behavior of the fixed header and footer can be unstable. *Tab settings can be changed in the iOS Settings app under "Apps -> Safari" > "Tabs." The following behavior differs depending on the tab. Compact When scrolling down, the header and footer shift up by a few pixels. A margin is created between the footer and the URL input field. Bottom Behaves the same as "Compact." Top The header is completely hidden below the URL input field at the top of the screen, leaving a margin below the footer. Below is the sample code to check the operation. <!doctype html> <html lang="ja"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1" /> <title>固定ヘッダー/フッター + モーダル</title> <style> :root { --header-h: 56px; --footer-h: 56px; } body { margin: 0; font-family: sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; background: #f9fafb; padding-top: var(--header-h); padding-bottom: var(--footer-h); } header .inner, footer .inner { width: 100%; max-width: var(--max-content-w); padding: 0 16px; display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: space-between; } header, footer { position: fixed; left: 0; right: 0; display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: center; z-index: 100; background: #fff; } header { top: 0; height: var(--header-h); border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd; } footer { bottom: 0; height: var(--footer-h); border-top: 1px solid #ddd; } main { padding: 16px; } .btn { padding: 8px 16px; border: 1px solid #2563eb; background: #2563eb; color: #fff; border-radius: 6px; cursor: pointer; } /* モーダル関連 */ .modal { position: fixed; inset: 0; display: none; z-index: 1000; } .modal.is-open { display: block; } .modal__backdrop { position: absolute; inset: 0; background: rgba(0,0,0,0.5); } .modal__panel { position: relative; max-width: 600px; margin: 10% auto; background: #fff; border-radius: 8px; padding: 20px; z-index: 1; } .modal__head { display: flex; justify-content: space-between; align-items: center; margin-bottom: 12px; } .modal__title { margin: 0; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold; } .modal__close { background: none; border: none; font-size: 20px; cursor: pointer; } </style> </head> <body> <header> <div class="inner"> <h1>デモページ</h1> <button id="openModal" class="btn">モーダルを開く</button> </div> </header> <main class="container" id="main"> <h2>スクロール用の適当なコンテンツ1</h2> <p>ヘッダーとフッターは常に表示されます。モーダルボタンを押すと、画面いっぱいのダイアログが開きます。</p> <!-- ダミーカードを複数 --> <section class="grid"> <div class="card"><strong>カード1</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード2</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード3</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード4</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード5</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード6</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード7</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード8</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード9</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード10</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> </section> </main> <footer> <small>&copy; 2025 Demo</small> </footer> <!-- モーダル --> <div class="modal" id="modal"> <div class="modal__backdrop"></div> <div class="modal__panel"> <div class="modal__head"> <h2 class="modal__title">モーダル</h2> <button class="modal__close" id="closeModal">&times;</button> </div> <p>これは白いビューのモーダルです。背景は黒く半透明で覆われています。</p> </div> </div> <script> const modal = document.getElementById('modal'); const openBtn = document.getElementById('openModal'); const closeBtn = document.getElementById('closeModal'); const backdrop = modal.querySelector('.modal__backdrop'); openBtn.addEventListener('click', () => { modal.classList.add('is-open'); }); function closeModal() { modal.classList.remove('is-open'); } closeBtn.addEventListener('click', closeModal); backdrop.addEventListener('click', closeModal); window.addEventListener('keydown', (e) => { if (e.key === 'Escape' && modal.classList.contains('is-open')) { closeModal(); } }); </script> </body> </html>

JavascriptCore crashes with pas_reallocation_did_fail
Hi, My app is using JavascriptCore to run the business logic in a javascript environment. We are randomly seeing crashes when users move the app back to the foreground. These crashes are reported by Firebase (I am attaching an example). I also tried to find them in Organizer, but the stacktraces don't match and I am not sure if they are pointing to the same error (I attach one just in case). I was trying to investigate a little bit about this, but I could find any explanation about what pas_reallocation_did_fail would mean. Here is our implementation: -(void) enqueueCallback:(JSValue *)callback withArguments:(NSArray *)args exclusive:(BOOL)exclusive { [self enqueueBlock:^{ @autoreleasepool { [callback callWithArguments:args]; } } exclusive:exclusive]; } Basically, every JS block is enqueued and then run by a dedicated thread specific to our JSContext. Can I get some help? Thanks in advance! Crashlytics.txt 2024-08-30_10-00-01.2572_-0400-f757f8306eda9679ec1b2ff90fbc66c4eb1fbee7.crash

Apple Pay Web: Multiple active PPCs for one Merchant ID?
Hi,
 We’re implementing Apple Pay on the Web for a multi-tenant platform via a PSP. The PSP operates multiple HSM/clusters and gave us multiple CSRs, asking us to register all.
Our understanding: a Merchant ID can hold several PPCs over time, but only one is active at once. Questions Is there any supported way to keep more than one PPC active simultaneously for the same Merchant ID? If not, what does Apple recommend for web-only, multi-tenant setups: a single MID with PSP-side decryption & sub-merchant separation, or separate MIDs per brand/region? Any official guidance on PPC rotation and handling many domains for Apple Pay on the Web? links to official docs or prior Apple responses would be appreciated.

JavaScript to externally automate Webpage operation
I am a newby to JavaScript, suggested to me to use to automate the task of opening of a Web page, selecting three internal buttons in sequence to download the underlying chart data. I have created the App via Automator on macOS, to run the Script, successfully open the Web Page, but cannot find a way to select and click() on the buttons. Can someone please help me. Robert. This is the code suggested by Grok 3 Beta, but I see this error: Error: First parameter passed to Document Constructor must be an object. function run(input, parameters) { var Safari = Application('Safari'); Safari.activate(); // Open the AEMO data dashboard (Grok 3 Beta recomendation opens the web page correctly) Safari.Document().make(); Safari.windows[0].currentTab.url = 'https://www.aemo.com.au/energy-systems/electricity/national-electricity-market-nem/data-nem/data-dashboard-nem'; delay(10); // Wait for page to load // Click the Fuel Mix tab (target the active in the tabs) Safari.Document(0).doJavaScript("document.querySelector('.tabs .active').click()"); delay(5); // Wait for tab content to load // Select 48 hrs from the dropdown Safari.Document(0).doJavaScript("document.querySelector('#interval').value = '48H'; document.querySelector('#interval').dispatchEvent(new Event('change'))"); delay(5); // Wait for selection to take effect // Click the download button Safari.Document(0).doJavaScript("document.querySelector('.visualisation-icon-button').click()"); return input; }

Frontend Does Not Display Password Validation Error (e.g., “Password Cannot Contain Your Name”)
Description When creating an Apple ID via the web form, if the user’s chosen password contains their own name, the server correctly returns an error (e.g., "Password cannot contain your name") in the PUT request's JSON response. However, this error is not shown on the frontend, leaving users unaware of why the form silently fails or stalls. Steps to Reproduce Go to the Apple ID account creation page (https://appleid.apple.com/account). Enter valid account details where the password includes the user's first or last name (e.g., Johnacb2331!l for a user named John Doe). Complete all fields, including phone number verification and captcha. Submit the form and monitor the Network tab in your browser’s DevTools. Observe that the form appears to hang, loop, or silently fail. Open the PUT request to /account — the response JSON will contain the relevant validation error (e.g., “Password cannot contain your name”), but the user is not shown this. Expected Behavior The password validation error (e.g., containing the user’s name) should be immediately displayed in the UI next to the password field to inform the user and allow for correction. Actual Behavior No error is shown in the UI. The form appears to fail silently, leaving the user confused. The actual reason for failure is only visible through browser developer tools in the PUT response payload. Impact This can lead to: User frustration and confusion Increased support overhead Poor UX in a critical flow (account creation) Environment Browser: chrome 136.0.7103.114 Platform: Web (https://appleid.apple.com) Date observed: 31/5/25 Suggested Fix Ensure that password validation messages from backend responses surface in the frontend, especially for common user input issues like including names in passwords. No screenshots as I can not create a new account

How to create a thumbnail for tabs like Safari or Chrome?
In the safari or chrome app, when I want to change tabs, I can go into a grid view of the tabs. In this grid, each tab shows the content of the page. When I click on one of the tabs, the content of the page expands to fill the entire screen (and shrinks when I go back to grid). I'm creating my own browser and I'm trying to replicate this same functionality. I'm using WebKit on XCode 16.4, iOS 18. However, I'm unable to figure out how Chrome and Safari did this. First, I thought that I could take a snapshot of the page and then use that image as the thumbnail. However, very often the image is of the wrong size - likely due to the webview shrinking for the animation. Making the animation wait until the image is made available did help in making it more consistent. The above errors happen whenever I spam the new tab and then click the tab grid button. It only is misaligned on the very last new tab. Please help on this. // OpenedTab.swift Button(action: { tab.getThumbnail { tabManager.selectedTab = nil } }) { ZStack { Image(systemName: "square") .resizable() .frame(width: 25, height: 25) Text(tabManager.tabs.count.description) .font(.subheadline) } } // TabState.swift func getThumbnail(completionHandler: (() -> Void)? = nil) { webView.takeSnapshot(with: nil) { img, err in if let err = err { print("Snapshot err: \(err)") } else { self.thumbnail = img completionHandler?() } } } Also, something I'm noticing is that for some reason, the image is slightly bigger than the header of the tab card. It also happens in the progress view if the thumbnail isn't available. The images above show it too. I have no clue why this is happening and I would love advice on this too. struct TabCardView: View { @StateObject var manager = TabManager.shared @ObservedObject var tab: TabState var namespace: Namespace.ID @State var width: CGFloat = 0 var body: some View { GeometryReader { geo in VStack(spacing: 0) { HStack(spacing: 1) { Text(tab.title ?? tab.url.host() ?? "") .font(.caption2) .padding(.horizontal, 4) .padding(.vertical, 10) Button(action: { manager.close(tab: tab) }) { Image(systemName: "multiply") } } .frame(height: 40) .frame(width: geo.size.width) // .padding(.horizontal, 7) .background(.tertiary) .matchedGeometryEffect(id: tab.id.uuidString + "title", in: namespace) ZStack { if let thumbnail = tab.thumbnail { Image(uiImage: thumbnail) .resizable() .aspectRatio(contentMode: .fill) .frame(width: geo.size.width, height: 160, alignment: .top) .clipped() } else { Color.black.brightness(0.8) ProgressView() } } .frame(width: geo.size.width, height: 160) .matchedGeometryEffect(id: tab.id.uuidString + "container", in: namespace) } .frame(width: geo.size.width) } .frame(height: 200) .clipShape(RoundedRectangle(cornerRadius: 16)) .shadow(radius: 2) .padding(.all, 7) .overlay( RoundedRectangle(cornerRadius: 20) .stroke(.blue, lineWidth: manager.previousTab?.id == tab.id ? 5 : 0) ) .shadow(radius: 1) } }

WKWebView: Fullscreen API User Gesture Bypass
Howdy, WKWebView feature request: allow Fullscreen API without User Gestures similar to ElectronJS' userGesture: true flag that allows devs to bypass user gesture restriction for Fullscreen API and similar executeJavaScript(code[, userGesture]) https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/api/web-contents#contentsexecutejavascriptcode-usergesture afaik this is allowed because of a fairly recent update to Chromium that also allows users to give Fullscreen API permissions per domain https://chromeos.dev/en/posts/using-the-fullscreen-api-without-gestures Would be greatly useful for a use case in my cross-platform app, so I can avoid rewriting all platforms to use Chromium Thanks

Request for Assistance: Safari Web Push Notification Token Expiration Issues
Dear Apple Developer Support Team, I am writing regarding critical issues we are facing with Safari web push notifications in our application iLiveMyLife.io, which is severely impacting our ability to maintain reliable communication with our users. Issue Description: We are experiencing persistent problems with Safari push notification tokens expiring or becoming invalid without any notification to our server. This creates several critical issues: Users stop receiving notifications without any indication of failure Our notification delivery system has no way to detect token expiration The expiration appears to happen frequently (seemingly almost daily in some cases) There is no reliable mechanism to re-establish push communication without users manually revisiting the app Technical Impact: Our messaging functionality becomes completely unreliable We must resort to email or SMS as fallback mechanisms, which is not feasible for a real-time communication platform This makes building any reliable messaging application on Safari practically impossible The Broader Context: What makes this situation particularly challenging is that all potential alternative browser APIs that could help address this issue appear to be deliberately disabled or restricted in Safari: Background Service Workers don't function in the background on iOS Safari Background Sync API is not supported WebSockets cannot operate when the app is closed There's no way to programmatically check the validity of push tokens The combination of these limitations creates a situation where developers have no viable technical path to build reliable notification systems for PWAs on Safari. This appears to be a systematic restriction rather than individual API limitations. Requested Information: Is there a recommended approach to detect Safari push token expiration? Are there alternative notification mechanisms for PWA applications on Safari that offer more reliability? Is there documentation on the lifecycle of Safari push tokens that could help us implement proper handling? Are there plans to improve the Web Push API implementation in Safari to address these reliability issues? Could you clarify if these limitations are intentional design decisions or technical constraints that might be addressed in future updates? Business Impact: This issue fundamentally undermines our platform's core functionality. For a collaborative tool, reliable notifications are essential - users cannot collaborate effectively if they miss updates because their push tokens silently expired. The current state creates confusion among our users, who don't understand why they suddenly stop receiving notifications. Any guidance or assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. We're committed to providing an excellent experience on Safari, but the current push notification limitations make this extremely challenging. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, Ilya

Thank you for supporting me. My environment Device: iPhone 15 Pro OS: iOS 26.0 Public Beta (23A5336a) In iOS 26, three types of tabs were added to Safari. Depending on the option, the behavior of the fixed header and footer can be unstable. *Tab settings can be changed in the iOS Settings app under "Apps -> Safari" > "Tabs." The following behavior differs depending on the tab. Compact When scrolling down, the header and footer shift up by a few pixels. A margin is created between the footer and the URL input field. Bottom Behaves the same as "Compact." Top The header is completely hidden below the URL input field at the top of the screen, leaving a margin below the footer. Below is the sample code to check the operation. <!doctype html> <html lang="ja"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1" /> <title>固定ヘッダー/フッター + モーダル</title> <style> :root { --header-h: 56px; --footer-h: 56px; } body { margin: 0; font-family: sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; background: #f9fafb; padding-top: var(--header-h); padding-bottom: var(--footer-h); } header .inner, footer .inner { width: 100%; max-width: var(--max-content-w); padding: 0 16px; display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: space-between; } header, footer { position: fixed; left: 0; right: 0; display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: center; z-index: 100; background: #fff; } header { top: 0; height: var(--header-h); border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd; } footer { bottom: 0; height: var(--footer-h); border-top: 1px solid #ddd; } main { padding: 16px; } .btn { padding: 8px 16px; border: 1px solid #2563eb; background: #2563eb; color: #fff; border-radius: 6px; cursor: pointer; } /* モーダル関連 */ .modal { position: fixed; inset: 0; display: none; z-index: 1000; } .modal.is-open { display: block; } .modal__backdrop { position: absolute; inset: 0; background: rgba(0,0,0,0.5); } .modal__panel { position: relative; max-width: 600px; margin: 10% auto; background: #fff; border-radius: 8px; padding: 20px; z-index: 1; } .modal__head { display: flex; justify-content: space-between; align-items: center; margin-bottom: 12px; } .modal__title { margin: 0; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold; } .modal__close { background: none; border: none; font-size: 20px; cursor: pointer; } </style> </head> <body> <header> <div class="inner"> <h1>デモページ</h1> <button id="openModal" class="btn">モーダルを開く</button> </div> </header> <main class="container" id="main"> <h2>スクロール用の適当なコンテンツ1</h2> <p>ヘッダーとフッターは常に表示されます。モーダルボタンを押すと、画面いっぱいのダイアログが開きます。</p> <!-- ダミーカードを複数 --> <section class="grid"> <div class="card"><strong>カード1</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード2</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード3</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード4</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード5</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード6</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード7</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード8</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード9</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> <div class="card"><strong>カード10</strong><p>適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。適当なテキスト。</p></div> </section> </main> <footer> <small>&copy; 2025 Demo</small> </footer> <!-- モーダル --> <div class="modal" id="modal"> <div class="modal__backdrop"></div> <div class="modal__panel"> <div class="modal__head"> <h2 class="modal__title">モーダル</h2> <button class="modal__close" id="closeModal">&times;</button> </div> <p>これは白いビューのモーダルです。背景は黒く半透明で覆われています。</p> </div> </div> <script> const modal = document.getElementById('modal'); const openBtn = document.getElementById('openModal'); const closeBtn = document.getElementById('closeModal'); const backdrop = modal.querySelector('.modal__backdrop'); openBtn.addEventListener('click', () => { modal.classList.add('is-open'); }); function closeModal() { modal.classList.remove('is-open'); } closeBtn.addEventListener('click', closeModal); backdrop.addEventListener('click', closeModal); window.addEventListener('keydown', (e) => { if (e.key === 'Escape' && modal.classList.contains('is-open')) { closeModal(); } }); </script> </body> </html>

I am a newby to JavaScript, suggested to me to use to automate the task of opening of a Web page, selecting three internal buttons in sequence to download the underlying chart data. I have created the App via Automator on macOS, to run the Script, successfully open the Web Page, but cannot find a way to select and click() on the buttons. Can someone please help me. Robert. This is the code suggested by Grok 3 Beta, but I see this error: Error: First parameter passed to Document Constructor must be an object. function run(input, parameters) { var Safari = Application('Safari'); Safari.activate(); // Open the AEMO data dashboard (Grok 3 Beta recomendation opens the web page correctly) Safari.Document().make(); Safari.windows[0].currentTab.url = 'https://www.aemo.com.au/energy-systems/electricity/national-electricity-market-nem/data-nem/data-dashboard-nem'; delay(10); // Wait for page to load // Click the Fuel Mix tab (target the active in the tabs) Safari.Document(0).doJavaScript("document.querySelector('.tabs .active').click()"); delay(5); // Wait for tab content to load // Select 48 hrs from the dropdown Safari.Document(0).doJavaScript("document.querySelector('#interval').value = '48H'; document.querySelector('#interval').dispatchEvent(new Event('change'))"); delay(5); // Wait for selection to take effect // Click the download button Safari.Document(0).doJavaScript("document.querySelector('.visualisation-icon-button').click()"); return input; }

In the safari or chrome app, when I want to change tabs, I can go into a grid view of the tabs. In this grid, each tab shows the content of the page. When I click on one of the tabs, the content of the page expands to fill the entire screen (and shrinks when I go back to grid). I'm creating my own browser and I'm trying to replicate this same functionality. I'm using WebKit on XCode 16.4, iOS 18. However, I'm unable to figure out how Chrome and Safari did this. First, I thought that I could take a snapshot of the page and then use that image as the thumbnail. However, very often the image is of the wrong size - likely due to the webview shrinking for the animation. Making the animation wait until the image is made available did help in making it more consistent. The above errors happen whenever I spam the new tab and then click the tab grid button. It only is misaligned on the very last new tab. Please help on this. // OpenedTab.swift Button(action: { tab.getThumbnail { tabManager.selectedTab = nil } }) { ZStack { Image(systemName: "square") .resizable() .frame(width: 25, height: 25) Text(tabManager.tabs.count.description) .font(.subheadline) } } // TabState.swift func getThumbnail(completionHandler: (() -> Void)? = nil) { webView.takeSnapshot(with: nil) { img, err in if let err = err { print("Snapshot err: \(err)") } else { self.thumbnail = img completionHandler?() } } } Also, something I'm noticing is that for some reason, the image is slightly bigger than the header of the tab card. It also happens in the progress view if the thumbnail isn't available. The images above show it too. I have no clue why this is happening and I would love advice on this too. struct TabCardView: View { @StateObject var manager = TabManager.shared @ObservedObject var tab: TabState var namespace: Namespace.ID @State var width: CGFloat = 0 var body: some View { GeometryReader { geo in VStack(spacing: 0) { HStack(spacing: 1) { Text(tab.title ?? tab.url.host() ?? "") .font(.caption2) .padding(.horizontal, 4) .padding(.vertical, 10) Button(action: { manager.close(tab: tab) }) { Image(systemName: "multiply") } } .frame(height: 40) .frame(width: geo.size.width) // .padding(.horizontal, 7) .background(.tertiary) .matchedGeometryEffect(id: tab.id.uuidString + "title", in: namespace) ZStack { if let thumbnail = tab.thumbnail { Image(uiImage: thumbnail) .resizable() .aspectRatio(contentMode: .fill) .frame(width: geo.size.width, height: 160, alignment: .top) .clipped() } else { Color.black.brightness(0.8) ProgressView() } } .frame(width: geo.size.width, height: 160) .matchedGeometryEffect(id: tab.id.uuidString + "container", in: namespace) } .frame(width: geo.size.width) } .frame(height: 200) .clipShape(RoundedRectangle(cornerRadius: 16)) .shadow(radius: 2) .padding(.all, 7) .overlay( RoundedRectangle(cornerRadius: 20) .stroke(.blue, lineWidth: manager.previousTab?.id == tab.id ? 5 : 0) ) .shadow(radius: 1) } }
