How include dSYM when I build my Framework project?
This question is related to this post (of mine). It seems default build settings do not include dSYM files needed when uploading embedding app package. But now Xcode issues new warnings about this. Now the question - how do I tell Xcode to create dSYM files for me, say when I build My.Framework? I asked AI chatbot which tells me that for release build I need to : set "Debug Information Format" to DWARF set "Strip Debug Symbols During Copy" to off I have item 1 turned on (which I believe is the default). But item 2 is on, maybe that's the reason I do not have dSYM files in final built My.Framework. Should I turn "Strip Debug Symbols During Copy" off?

Xcode Debug Launch Extremely Slow on iOS 18.4 with Large Binary (~1GB)
After upgrading to iOS 18.4, I noticed that launching a debug build from Xcode becomes extremely slow. The same app with the same large debug binary (~1GB) launches normally on devices running iOS 18.3. This issue seems specific to iOS 18.4, possibly related to the way the OS handles large debug binaries or symbols during the launch process. Steps to Reproduce: Connect an iPhone running iOS 18.4 to a Mac with Xcode. Build and run an app using Xcode in Debug mode. Observe the extended launch time. Re-run the same process on another iPhone with iOS 18.3 — launch is fast. Expected Result: Debug launch should be fast and consistent across iOS versions. Actual Result: Debug launch is significantly slower on iOS 18.4 for large binaries (~1GB). Environment: Xcode version: 16.0 macOS version: 15.4 Device: iPhone [model] iOS version: 18.4 (problematic), 18.3 (no issue)

XCode reverts CoreData's .xccurrentversion
I am experiencing an issue where XCode reverts .xccurrentversion file in my iOS app to the first version whenever xcodebuild is run or whenever XCode is started. This means I can build the app and run tests in XCode if I discard the reversion .xccurrentversion on XCode start. However, testing on CI is impossible because the version the tests rely on are reverted whenever xcodebuild is run. The commands I run to reproduce the issue ❯ git status Changes not staged for commit: (use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed) (use "git restore <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) modified: Path/.xccurrentversion no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a") ❯ git checkout "Path/.xccurrentversion" Updated 1 path from the index ❯ git status nothing to commit, working tree clean ❯ xcodebuild \ -scheme Scheme \ -configuration Configuration \ -sdk iphonesimulator \ -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 16 Pro,OS=latest' \ -skipPackagePluginValidation \ -skipMacroValidation \ test > /dev/null # test fails because model version is reverted ❯ git status HEAD detached at pull/249/merge Changes not staged for commit: (use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed) (use "git restore <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) modified: Path/.xccurrentversion no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a") I have experienced such issue in 16.3 (16E140) and 16.2 (16C5032a). Similar issues/solutions I have found online are the following. But they are either not relevant or do not work in my case. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17631587/xcode-modifies-current-coredata-model-version-at-every-launch https://github.com/CocoaPods/Xcodeproj/issues/81 Is anyone aware of any solution? Is there a recommended way I can run diagnostics on XCode and file a feedback?

Preview on real device without showing the canvas
I am using my real device and the Xcode Preview which works pretty fine. I do not want to show an empty canvas pane all the time. But when hiding the canvas, the preview pauses. I tried the refresh shortkey (OPT + CMD + P), too, while canvas is invisible. Why must the canvas be visible even there is no content besides "Previewing on iPhone from..." Info? I hope there is a workaround to hide the canvas while pushing to real devices.

The identity used to sign the executable is no longer valid
Hi there, When I deploy my app to the iPhone for testing, I get the following error: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.4gpZFc/extracted/c_mll.app : 0xe8008018 (The identity used to sign the Please ensure that the certificates used to sign your app have not expired. XCode 16.3, AppStoreConnect, Bundle is Invalid issue.
Hello All, I am hoping someone has a solution we are encountering. We recently upgraded to XCode 16.3 this week, and were putting together the next test build to push to TestFlight. However, the AppStore is rejecting the app with the following message. ITMS-90048: This bundle is invalid - Your archive contains paths that are not allowed: [._Symbols] We have never had this before and the problem is, there is no path named "_Symbols" in our IPA. Doing some searching online I have seen people report the same problem when build using Flutter or React, but we are using plain vanilla Swift and Native iOS. We also have not added anything significantly new to our project since our last release a couple weeks ago. Any suggestion on how to fix this would be greatly apprecaited. Swift project build process is extremely slow after upgrading to 16.3
For an initial launch of Xcode, the GatherProvisioningInputs usually takes 60 seconds for a simple project. Subsequent build is fast though. But the build process seems got stuck at VeryModule of the MyFramework target, which usually takes 15 seconds.

Code Coverage not showing properly?
I have an old Xcode project that I am adding tests to, and at a high level I see the code coverage percent (the 2.2% number). However, in the detail view, code coverage only shows on the testing bundle, not in the main app bundle. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this?
