ATS doesn't download AirPlay Diagnostic profile
I need to install the AirPlay profile on an iphone to watch decrypted traffic in ATS for development work on CarPlay. The documentation for ATS says to click "Utilities -> Download Profiles -> AirPlay Diagnostic Mode". When I do this, it brings up a file dialog, presumably to select a location to download. But nothing happens. The other profiles launch a web browser and download the .mobileconfig profile. How do I get the AirPlay profile? Am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work? I found ATSAssetsInfoDefault.plist which references these files. And they all have https://developer.apple.com/services-account/download?path=/iOS/iOS_Logs/... except the AirPlay profile, which is type "slug" and just says ats-airplay-diagnostic-mode-profile. Is this a bug in the app?

Apple Support for Xcode error
Hello, We tried calling Apple support who suggested they cannot help and work thru emails and discussion forums to resolve the technical issue we are facing to post our first App in App Store. I have given admin level credential to my son (minor) allowing him to incorporate his Xcode to App Store with his credentials. Apparently, he keeps getting error he does not have enough credentials to do so and we are unable to proceed further. I acknowledge I am not a developer & Apple support team was unable to help, I wonder if there is specific support channel I need to follow to resolve the issue. His App is going to help is Robotics team in upcoming event and we appreciate if someone can kindly point me to right direction to resolve the matter at earliest.

Attach a debugger to app launched via `devicectrl`
With the latest (26) version of Apple's developer tools, is there a way to manually attach a debugger (other than lldb) to an iOS app launched with "devicectl device process launch --start-stopped"? In the past, this was possible via the ios-deploy third-party tool (now defunct), which provided a debugserver port. This information is notably missing when using devicectrl – although the process ID of the launch process is provided, and the tool is clearly aimed at letting you launch and attach to processes from the command line. lldb can, of course, attach via its built-in support for this using the device set of commands. But I'm explicitly looking for a way to attach my own debugger via the GDB-compatible debug proxy.

My app will not open to myself or to clients and has a pop up that claims "App Outdated" The app version you are using is no longer supported. Please install he latest Heartland update through the App Store. However, there have been no updates to the app.

Is there a way to limit the MusicKit JWT tokens to just the Apple Music API using scopes?
Hi, I'm generating MusicKit JWT tokens on my backend side and using it on the client side to query the Apple Music API. One concern I have is accidentally over issuing the scope of this JWT, resulting in accidental access more services than intended like DeviceCheck or APNS. Other than using separate keys for MusicKit and other services, is there a way to limit the generated JWT to only the Apple Music API (https://api.music.apple.com/v1/*) using the JWT payload scope?

iOS 18.5 crash with iPad 7 only
Weirdness going on here. Our app is crashing on startup with iPad 7s running iOS 18.5. Before updating to iOS 18.5, it was working fine on iPad 7s. Even with iOS 18.5, it is working fine on every device we have tried including dozens of other iPads and iPhones. We have narrowed it down to the SquareReaderSDK. If we remove that SDK, it will launch and work without issues. But, many of our users need the SquareReaderSDK. The crash happens at app load, before appDelegate didFinishLaunchingWithOptions. So we can't figure out any way to debug the issue. Is anyone else having a similar issue? Square thinks it is an Apple issue.

Need Step-by-Step Instructions for Submitting React Native/Expo App to TestFlight & App Store (Individual Account)
Hello - I’m the Account Holder for an individual Apple Developer Program account. I’m working with freelance junior developers who are building my app in React Native mainly in TypeScript (.tsx) with some JavaScript, with code in GitHub. The app currently runs in Expo Go now. I’ve been directed to this forum for step-by-step guidance. Specifically I need clear, sequential instructions I can give my developers (and what I personally must do on my Mac) so they can produce a properly signed iOS build for TestFlight (internal testing), and Upload that build to App Store Connect and then submit the release to the App Store. Context: This is an individual developer account (not an organization). I am the only person with a Mac. I added them as developers but was told I need to be the one to upload the final build (is this true, and if so, what do they send me to do that, and when they send it to me, can you please tell me exactly what I need to do from there?) I was told about Swift Playground, possible SwiftUI conversion if needed, APK file, and using my Xcode for final submission, but not sure what to make of this that will get it on TestFlight from the current React Native. What I would like to ask for help with is a concise, step-by-step checklist (including exact menu names / commands or tools like EAS Submit, Transporter, or Xcode) of the developers' steps and my admin/account holder steps, so I can hand it to the developers and make sure nothing is missed to get on TestFlight. I’m on a tight timeline, so any clear, detailed guidance would be extremely appreciated. Thank you so much. I have looked everywhere and cannot find a step-by-step!

AR location errors on cellular + WiFi model iPad with device connected to Wi-Fi
I am developing an Augmented Reality (AR) navigation application for the iPad, utilizing the ARCL library to place Points of Interest (POIs) in the real world. The application's behavior varies significantly based on the device's networking configuration: Cellular Network (Expected Behavior): On an iPad with a cellular modem, when using the cellular network, all POIs are placed accurately with correct orientation. Wi-Fi Only (Expected Behavior): On a Wi-Fi-only model (no GPS chip), POI placement is inaccurate, confirming the need for an external GPS receiver for that hardware configuration. Cellular + Wi-Fi (Anomalous Behavior): The iPad is a cellular model (equipped with GNSS/GPS). The device is connected to a Wi-Fi network (enforced via an MDM profile, preventing the user from disabling Wi-Fi). When actively connected to this specific Wi-Fi network, the AR POIs consistently display with an incorrect orientation and placement, even though the device hardware has a dedicated GPS chip. The placement error strongly suggests that the device's determined location or heading is erroneous. It appears that the active Wi-Fi connection is somehow interfering with or overriding the high-accuracy GNSS/GPS data, leading to a flawed Core Location determination that negatively impacts the ARCL world tracking and anchor placement. Has anyone experienced a scenario where an active Wi-Fi connection on a cellular iPad model causes Core Location to prioritize less accurate location data (potentially Wi-Fi-based location services) over the device's built-in GNSS/GPS, resulting in severe orientation errors? We observed that on Apple map(native application) as well it is showing wrong location and orientation when it is connected to WiFi

SystemData and IOS Images
Hi, I’m trying to free up space on my computer and have uninstalled Xcode. However, I noticed that many large files remain on the filesystem even after uninstalling it. The largest remaining files (~33 GB) are iOS Simulator images located at: /System/Volumes/Data/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes I attempted to delete them using root privileges, but it seems that these system files are mounted as read-only. I’m reaching out to ask for guidance to ensure that these files do not contain anything important for macOS, and that it’s safe to remove them before getting in recovery mode. Persistent Sandbox Denials When Building with Capacitor and CocoaPods in Xcode
I am a solo developer building a cross-platform voice assistant app using Capacitor (with HTML, JS) and Xcode for the iOS version. The app is called "Echo Eyes," and it already functions well as a Progressive Web App (PWA). However, the iOS build has been completely blocked due to persistent sandbox permission errors from macOS during the CocoaPods framework embedding phase. This issue has caused severe disruption to my project and personal well-being, and I am writing to formally request assistance in identifying a clear solution. I am not a beginner and have followed all known best practices, forums, and Apple guidance without success. What I’ve Built So Far: Fully working PWA version of the app (voice input, HTML/JS interface) Capacitor initialized with ID: com.echo.eyes.voice Capacitor iOS platform added with CocoaPods App runs fine until Xcode reaches: [CP] Embed Pods Frameworks The Exact Problem: Sandbox: bash(12319) deny(1) file-read-data /Users/Shared/projects/Echo_Mobile/ios/App/Pods/Target Support Files/Pods-App/Pods-App-frameworks.sh Command PhaseScriptExecution failed with a nonzero exit code Clarification: This is not an HTML/JS issue. The failure occurs in Xcode long before web assets are embedded into the bundle. The shell script /Pods-App-frameworks.sh cannot be read due to macOS sandbox restrictions. Everything I’ve Tried: Gave Xcode and Terminal Full Disk Access Ran: sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine on the entire Pods directory Added /bin/bash and /bin/sh to Full Disk Access (after confirming the exact shell via $SHELL) Attempted to disable Gatekeeper via Terminal: sudo spctl --master-disable (confirmed not effective without GUI toggle) Tried relocating project to /Users/Shared/projects/ Cleaned build folder, removed derived data, reinstalled pods Debugged shell usage with: echo "▶️ Embedding under shell: $SHELL" in the [CP] Embed Pods Frameworks script Attempted to grant shell access to Documents Folder, Desktop, and more via Files & Folders Current State: Despite following all known and recommended steps, Xcode continues to return the same sandbox error. The shell script that embeds the CocoaPod frameworks is denied permission to read its own contents by macOS. What I Am Asking For: Is this a known issue in current versions of macOS or Xcode regarding sandbox denial for shell execution inside Pods? Is there a recommended method to grant /bin/bash or /bin/sh permission to read and run these scripts under Xcode without compromising system security? Is moving the project outside /Users (e.g. to /Projects) the only real workaround? Are there official Apple workarounds or entitlements available for developers encountering this? Personal Note: This issue has caused significant emotional and physical distress. I’m building this app as a personal healing tool and companion. I’ve poured months of work into this and done everything I can to follow Apple’s development guidelines. Watch App Not available to install
I added an Apple Watch app target for an iOS app. If I install it directly through Xcode it runs, however it seems to be able to communicate with iphone through Watch Connectivity framework and once I close the app it seems to uninstall itself from the watch. When I installed the iphone app frist, the app does not show up on the available apps on the iphone Watch application, what could be the issue ? The iphone app was created using react native through expo. Testing Devices Iphone 13 pro max IOS 26.0.1 --- Apple Watch Series 4 WatchOS 10.6

Unlocking hidden "Developer mode" option on Ipad (without Mac or Xcode)
Hello, I have an iphone but not an ipad Actually a relative has an iPad. The problem I encoutered was when i was testing an app that I had built prior (so I had the ipa file) but no acces to Xcode. The thing is when I wanted to test it on my iphone, everything WENT SMOOTH and ok. When I tried on iPAD, I encounteed the problem I could not unlock the hidden "developer mode" option in any way, I tried so many things, checked and rechecked, the option was and stayed hidden, I could not activate it. Therefore I could not test the app. In the apple store I was required to give a screenshot for iPAD but that failed. because I could not produce ANY, since I could not run my app on iPAD. I actually have no idea how I activated the ability to turn on the developer mode on my iphone, it was just there and I activated it perhaps because I had added the email of my iphone to the developer account somehow? somehwere? But for iPAD I just could not find a way to do it, don't know if adding it somewhere could trigger something on the ipad to allow it to show the developer mode option so I can activate it finally? Anyway, I tried things I read on internet, methods that mention how to activate the developer mode ability on an ios devide though WINDOWS, there were 2 but one I did not trust much, and even I think i tried it and in the end it did not work for some incompatibility making that method obsolete or something? the other I am not sure but probably same idea. I would like to know, how to activate the ABILITY to SHOW the option to activate the developer mode on iPAD (or any other device but for now I am focuson on iPad) please, and without using macbook or xcode!? Could Apple or anyone offer some guidance? That would help a fellow developer. Thank you. Ps. No I cant get the mac or xcode for now (but hopefully in a far future, but for now I can't). Thanks

Unstable behavior of xcodebuild -showdestinations
Hi, I am having an issue with xcodebuild -showdestinations command. Steps to reproduce: Create a new iOS application project in Xcode or use an existing one. Navigate to this project in a terminal. For new projects, I consistently get only generic platform destinations and my connected physical device. When I run the same command on an older project, I sometimes see all the expected destinations. It seems to be a roughly 50/50 chance between the two outcomes. Xcode Code coverage shows zero; even after 245 successful tests
I have a project inside the project structure. I have around 300 unit tests in the project. I see that for some of the subprojects, the coverage numbers show up correctly, but for other subprojects and the main project, the coverage number shows zero, even though the tests are running successfully. The log I get is: Aggregation tool emitted warnings: warning: /Users/ABC/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/projectABC-hfzmkbdgpiswoxfvvnvhrafaiqyb/Build/ProfileData/A8EEC1FB-1699-4C29-A88C-D3DDA226DBC0/0A416494-A393-4319-AA47-502D72084C9C-43351.profraw: raw profile version mismatch: Profile uses raw profile format version = 8; expected version = 10 PLEASE update this tool to the version in the raw profile, or regenerate the raw profile with the expected version. I only have one Xcode (26.0.1) on my machine. I tried cleaning the derived data, the cleaning project, and rerunning the tests, but it hasn't helped. Please help me get the coverage number back. Trackpad Right-Click (Two-Finger Tap) Support in Linux Guests – macOS Virtualization Framework
Hello, I'm developing a macOS application that uses the Virtualization framework to run Linux virtual machines (specifically Ubuntu and Fedora) on Apple Silicon Macs. I've noticed that while the macOS host properly supports all trackpad gestures, the two-finger tap gesture for right-click does not work within the Linux guest. Only the primary click is recognized. This behavior is consistent across different Linux distributions and desktop environments (GNOME, KDE, etc.). I would like to confirm: Is the macOS Virtualization framework expected to support trackpad gestures such as two-finger tap for right-click within Linux guest VMs? If not currently supported, is there a known workaround to enable right-click functionality for the trackpad in Linux guests? Family Controls entitlement not working on TestFlight (works fine on Xcode build)
I’m developing an app that uses Family Controls to block other apps. I’ve already received approval from Apple for the entitlement, and everything works perfectly when I run the app from Xcode on a physical device. However, when I upload the same build to TestFlight, the app installs and runs, but the Family Controls functionality doesn’t work — it seems like the entitlement isn’t being applied in the TestFlight version. So I’d like to ask: 👉 Do Family Controls entitlements work automatically on TestFlight builds, or is there any additional step required to enable them?

SystemData and IOS Images
Hi, I’m trying to free up space on my computer and have uninstalled Xcode. However, I noticed that many large files remain on the filesystem even after uninstalling it. The largest remaining files (~33 GB) are iOS Simulator images located at: /System/Volumes/Data/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes I attempted to delete them using root privileges, but it seems that these system files are mounted as read-only. I’m reaching out to ask for guidance to ensure that these files do not contain anything important for macOS, and that it’s safe to remove them before getting in recovery mode. Persistent Sandbox Denials When Building with Capacitor and CocoaPods in Xcode
I am a solo developer building a cross-platform voice assistant app using Capacitor (with HTML, JS) and Xcode for the iOS version. The app is called "Echo Eyes," and it already functions well as a Progressive Web App (PWA). However, the iOS build has been completely blocked due to persistent sandbox permission errors from macOS during the CocoaPods framework embedding phase. This issue has caused severe disruption to my project and personal well-being, and I am writing to formally request assistance in identifying a clear solution. I am not a beginner and have followed all known best practices, forums, and Apple guidance without success. What I’ve Built So Far: Fully working PWA version of the app (voice input, HTML/JS interface) Capacitor initialized with ID: com.echo.eyes.voice Capacitor iOS platform added with CocoaPods App runs fine until Xcode reaches: [CP] Embed Pods Frameworks The Exact Problem: Sandbox: bash(12319) deny(1) file-read-data /Users/Shared/projects/Echo_Mobile/ios/App/Pods/Target Support Files/Pods-App/Pods-App-frameworks.sh Command PhaseScriptExecution failed with a nonzero exit code Clarification: This is not an HTML/JS issue. The failure occurs in Xcode long before web assets are embedded into the bundle. The shell script /Pods-App-frameworks.sh cannot be read due to macOS sandbox restrictions. Everything I’ve Tried: Gave Xcode and Terminal Full Disk Access Ran: sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine on the entire Pods directory Added /bin/bash and /bin/sh to Full Disk Access (after confirming the exact shell via $SHELL) Attempted to disable Gatekeeper via Terminal: sudo spctl --master-disable (confirmed not effective without GUI toggle) Tried relocating project to /Users/Shared/projects/ Cleaned build folder, removed derived data, reinstalled pods Debugged shell usage with: echo "▶️ Embedding under shell: $SHELL" in the [CP] Embed Pods Frameworks script Attempted to grant shell access to Documents Folder, Desktop, and more via Files &amp; Folders Current State: Despite following all known and recommended steps, Xcode continues to return the same sandbox error. The shell script that embeds the CocoaPod frameworks is denied permission to read its own contents by macOS. What I Am Asking For: Is this a known issue in current versions of macOS or Xcode regarding sandbox denial for shell execution inside Pods? Is there a recommended method to grant /bin/bash or /bin/sh permission to read and run these scripts under Xcode without compromising system security? Is moving the project outside /Users (e.g. to /Projects) the only real workaround? Are there official Apple workarounds or entitlements available for developers encountering this? Personal Note: This issue has caused significant emotional and physical distress. I’m building this app as a personal healing tool and companion. I’ve poured months of work into this and done everything I can to follow Apple’s development guidelines. Messed up my Repo. Need help with discarding a commit and dding to the previous one on the main branch.
I wanted to rollback a commit. So I shifted to the commit before it. Then I added new commits on the one I switched to, not realising this is not happening on the main branch. Now what do I do? Neerav

Watch App Not available to install
I added an Apple Watch app target for an iOS app. If I install it directly through Xcode it runs, however it seems to be able to communicate with iphone through Watch Connectivity framework and once I close the app it seems to uninstall itself from the watch. When I installed the iphone app frist, the app does not show up on the available apps on the iphone Watch application, what could be the issue ? The iphone app was created using react native through expo. Testing Devices Iphone 13 pro max IOS 26.0.1 --- Apple Watch Series 4 WatchOS 10.6

Unlocking hidden "Developer mode" option on Ipad (without Mac or Xcode)
Hello, I have an iphone but not an ipad Actually a relative has an iPad. The problem I encoutered was when i was testing an app that I had built prior (so I had the ipa file) but no acces to Xcode. The thing is when I wanted to test it on my iphone, everything WENT SMOOTH and ok. When I tried on iPAD, I encounteed the problem I could not unlock the hidden "developer mode" option in any way, I tried so many things, checked and rechecked, the option was and stayed hidden, I could not activate it. Therefore I could not test the app. In the apple store I was required to give a screenshot for iPAD but that failed. because I could not produce ANY, since I could not run my app on iPAD. I actually have no idea how I activated the ability to turn on the developer mode on my iphone, it was just there and I activated it perhaps because I had added the email of my iphone to the developer account somehow? somehwere? But for iPAD I just could not find a way to do it, don't know if adding it somewhere could trigger something on the ipad to allow it to show the developer mode option so I can activate it finally? Anyway, I tried things I read on internet, methods that mention how to activate the developer mode ability on an ios devide though WINDOWS, there were 2 but one I did not trust much, and even I think i tried it and in the end it did not work for some incompatibility making that method obsolete or something? the other I am not sure but probably same idea. I would like to know, how to activate the ABILITY to SHOW the option to activate the developer mode on iPAD (or any other device but for now I am focuson on iPad) please, and without using macbook or xcode!? Could Apple or anyone offer some guidance? That would help a fellow developer. Thank you. Ps. No I cant get the mac or xcode for now (but hopefully in a far future, but for now I can't). Thanks

Unstable behavior of xcodebuild -showdestinations
Hi, I am having an issue with xcodebuild -showdestinations command. Steps to reproduce: Create a new iOS application project in Xcode or use an existing one. Navigate to this project in a terminal. Run xcodebuild -project 'your-project-name.xcodeproj' -scheme 'your-scheme' -showdestinations What I expect: All destinations available in the Xcode UI should be listed. What I get: It depends. For new projects, I consistently get only generic platform destinations and my connected physical device. When I run the same command on an older project, I sometimes see all the expected destinations. It seems to be a roughly 50/50 chance between the two outcomes. Is there a way to get consistent results from xcodebuild -showdestinations? What can I do to ensure all destinations are listed reliably? Xcode Code coverage shows zero; even after 245 successful tests
I have a project inside the project structure. I have around 300 unit tests in the project. I see that for some of the subprojects, the coverage numbers show up correctly, but for other subprojects and the main project, the coverage number shows zero, even though the tests are running successfully. The log I get is: Aggregation tool emitted warnings: warning: /Users/ABC/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/projectABC-hfzmkbdgpiswoxfvvnvhrafaiqyb/Build/ProfileData/A8EEC1FB-1699-4C29-A88C-D3DDA226DBC0/0A416494-A393-4319-AA47-502D72084C9C-43351.profraw: raw profile version mismatch: Profile uses raw profile format version = 8; expected version = 10 PLEASE update this tool to the version in the raw profile, or regenerate the raw profile with the expected version. I only have one Xcode (26.0.1) on my machine. I tried cleaning the derived data, the cleaning project, and rerunning the tests, but it hasn't helped. Please help me get the coverage number back. Trackpad Right-Click (Two-Finger Tap) Support in Linux Guests – macOS Virtualization Framework
Hello, I'm developing a macOS application that uses the Virtualization framework to run Linux virtual machines (specifically Ubuntu and Fedora) on Apple Silicon Macs. I've noticed that while the macOS host properly supports all trackpad gestures, the two-finger tap gesture for right-click does not work within the Linux guest. Only the primary click is recognized. This behavior is consistent across different Linux distributions and desktop environments (GNOME, KDE, etc.). I would like to confirm: Is the macOS Virtualization framework expected to support trackpad gestures such as two-finger tap for right-click within Linux guest VMs? If not currently supported, is there a known workaround to enable right-click functionality for the trackpad in Linux guests? Family Controls entitlement not working on TestFlight (works fine on Xcode build)
I’m developing an app that uses Family Controls to block other apps. I’ve already received approval from Apple for the entitlement, and everything works perfectly when I run the app from Xcode on a physical device. However, when I upload the same build to TestFlight, the app installs and runs, but the Family Controls functionality doesn’t work — it seems like the entitlement isn’t being applied in the TestFlight version. So I’d like to ask: 👉 Do Family Controls entitlements work automatically on TestFlight builds, or is there any additional step required to enable them?
