I'm totally baffled by the changes Apple made on iOS18 about certificates usage in the built-in mail application. They decided that self-signed are not accepted any more, fine. As long as you can install your own root CA and trust it, it should be fine. But NO! They have also decided that mail will only accept IMAP servers using a domain name, no more just and IP address. So you can't get any IP-based certificate that will be accepted by the mail app, even with the right SAN and al. I've tried two "identical" certs, one with a domain and one with an IP and the domain works while the IP fails, being rejected as non-valid by the app. The most funny part is that the IP cert is good enough to configure mail (can see the successful login), but is being rejected when reading emails. I'm really fed up with the "Apple police" that wants to push us not using our own storage anymore. My se case is simple, I have an IMAP server that is used by family to archive all emails and keep them organized, saved forever and away from being scanned. I need to access that server either when locally connected or through VPN. For VPN, I use split tunnels because I don't want all traffic to go to tunnel. Nor do I want to create my own local DNS server and have all VPN clients use such DNS server only for the sake of having a domain name for the IMAP server. Nor do I want to open an external port to redirect to my IMAP server (that works of course as then I can use DDNS ...). Talk about increased security! This is insane

I'm running into issues with iOS respecting the HTTP 410 "Gone" response type. Setup: Using the native iOS Calendar app, add a new subscription calendar. "Add Subscription Calendar" Add the URL of a ICS calendar subscription that you control, e.g. https://mywebsite.com/userfeeds/23/cal.ics Make sure to select the "Account" option and choose "On My iPhone/iPad". Set the query amount to 15 mins. Calendar events show as expected, device queries the latest updates from the server every 15 minutes. Server returns HTTP 200 with the .ics contents. Now, assume there is a need for the feed to end - maybe the user unsubscribed to mywebsite.com. There is currently no way for the mywebsite.com server / response to tell the device the feed has ended and it should stop requesting. If the user forgets to go to calendar and manually unsubscribe the device will continually ping the server every 15 minutes indefinitely. It's turning into a virtual DoS for my platform. iOS should respect the HTTP 410 "Gone" header or something similar. If the server returns a HTTP 410 response code for https://mywebsite.com/userfeeds/23/cal.ics X amount of times, the feed should be automatically removed. I've opened several tickets over the last 3 years and have not even had a status change on the tickets. Does anyone know how to resolve this or a work around?

Installed the iOS 26 Beta on my iPhone 13 Pro last night, hated it. I wasn't aware that there is a supported way of restoring back to iOS18.5, so I (foolishly) opted to flash the iOS18.5 ispw file onto my device using a 3rd party tool. Now, my device is stuck in a state between. Unable to flash, unable to use itunes to restore, randomly gives error codes during restoration attempts. Worries my device may be lost permanently! Please advise.

Some users of my app complain that it stops responding to touch after a while. The screen is still updating, and the app seems to be working normally otherwise. It just doesn't respond to any touches anymore. It is not a problem with the touchscreen itself, because the user is able to swipe up to get to the home screen, and then interact with other apps as normal. When re-opening my app, it is still unresponsive to touch. The only way to solve it, is to restart the app. Does anybody have a similar experience, and knows what could cause it? The app is based on UIKit, and still written in Objective-C, if it matters. The iOS version involved does not seem to matter, it happened with a couple of them.

Maybe a bit of a simplistic question, but…. Best ways to create music - programmatically - within an app? I have a few small, simple games that I would like to add some background music to. I’ve fiddled with AVAudio, SKAudio, and now AudioKit. I’m just not quite finding the holy grail of music generation. I don’t know if it’s more technique or tool. So I thought I’d hit up the pool of minds here for some suggestions…?

Hi everyone, It’s been almost three weeks, and I’m still waiting for a reply about my subscription to the Apple Developer Program, but I haven’t received anything. I replied to the email three days ago and got no response. I tried again by requesting the subscription two days ago, but all I received was an automated message saying they would reply within two business days. What I did exactly: I went to my Apple Developer account, clicked on Subscriptions, and entered my card details. They sent me an email saying they are preparing my order, but nothing else. While on ios26 beta2 i changed my battery for an aftermarket one. Phone cannot be charged anymore, battery status 1%. So it reboots. had to replace oem battery to make local backup, to revert to ios18. and have aftermarket battery to work again.

I recent installed IOS 26, with my iphone 15 as a machine. I am experiencing glitch on switching apps, switching users in a specific apps. Delay is also visible when unlocking the phone, typing, touching the screen, going back to the previous app (clicking the arrow button on the top left). When using a two fingers navigating the phone, the other finger is unrecognizable when clicking on to something. Overall, UI were elegant and amazing. Please fix the responsiveness and may consider lower versions of iphone when possible.

I’ve gathered system logs and app-level diagnostics and would really appreciate insight from anyone familiar with daemons, VPN tunnels, or MDM behavior on Apple platforms. Summary of Issues Over Time March 2025: Most apps begin logging out automatically when closed April 2025: Passwords across apps and browsers begin failing May–June 2025: Gmail password reset emails stop arriving (even though other email works) These symptoms suggest something affecting secure sessions, DNS routing, or background data handling. I began running diagnostics and found unexpected system and network behaviors: Examples: com.apple.mobile.lockdown.remote.trusted file_relay.shim.remote pcapd.shim.remote webinspector.shim.remote bluetooth.BTPacketLogger.shim.remote On a normal, non-jailbroken device, I wouldn't expect so many .shim.remote or .diagnostic services to be active. Is this expected on iOS 18.5? The binary /usr/sbin/scutil appears to be missing. This breaks commands like: scutil --dns scutil --proxy scutil --nc list On a standard iOS device, is it even possible for scutil to be removed or disabled? App Behavior and Config Locking (Cloudflare WARP Log) From the logs of the Cloudflare WARP app (not enterprise-managed): The app repeatedly forces VPN tunnels to reconnect or restart by injecting dummy URLs (force OS to restart the network extension process). It tries to load policy configuration from MDM and Teams APIs (even though no MDM appears in Settings). Many config items are marked as: locked: true, visible: true including: DNS logs Fallback DNS Trusted WiFi settings The account is labeled as: WarpAccountRole.child which may explain some restrictions — but I’ve never set this manually. This seems more advanced than what the standard WARP app does. Could a provisioning profile or side-loaded config be applying these? Key Questions for the Community Are ~50 remote diagnostic services (.shim.remote) normal on iOS 18.5 stock devices? Could a VPN app (e.g. WARP) or hidden config enforce flow-switching across interfaces like ipsec, awdl, and pdp_ip, even when not visibly active? Can a provisioning profile or managed config enable services like file_relay, pcapd, or webinspector silently — without any visible MDM profile? Has anyone seen scutil or other network tools missing on a stock iPhone? What could cause this? Does WARP in MASQUE mode normally lock DNS settings and force tunnel restarts — or could this indicate tampering? Hi everyone, We’re seeing a rare but frustrating issue in our iOS VoIP app and would appreciate any advice. What’s happening: In some VoIP calls between two users (let’s say A and B), B can’t hear A’s voice, but A can still hear B just fine. It doesn’t happen often, but once it does, the issue persists until the device is restarted. Users who experience this issue typically have other voice or conferencing apps installed and actively use them. been testing out ios 26 since it came out and now all of a sudden everytime it boots only into recovery and wont do anything else. recovery says no known issues found.

Okay… help me out, I’m behind on the times. Upgraded to the 26 beta from … honestly I think I was still using 16-something? And I’m wondering where the photo markup feature went? To be clear, I’m referring to the ability to write on a photo or screenshot from the Photos app by clicking “Edit”, then “Markup”. Is it gone or am I overlooking it? And do forgive me if this feature has been gone for a while already—as I mentioned, it’s been a while since I bothered with an iOS update. (So far, I definitely liked the version I was on previously much more!)

iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.5 before installing iOS 26 beta had no issues connecting to wired (there’s no wireless) CarPlay in my 2022 Honda Civic Sport. Now with IOS 26, my car recognizes that my phone is connected and asks if I want to use CarPlay and I click yes but it does nothing. I reset my head unit, reset all iPhone settings, checked different iPhone settings, tried different cables, can’t seem to determine what part of iOS 26 is causing the problem. Anyone have any ideas before I roll back to 18.5?

I firstly used iOS 18.5 and update my phone to iOS 26 and was some bugs that worked improperly and trying to rollback to 18.5 from there up to now there’s lot of challenge in my iMessage and FaceTime activation. I tried many ways of activating it but it didn’t working found out some videos of reset my iPhone but still the same issue. I erased everything in my iPhone but nothing is change or help me to solve this and still I’m looking for solution and even when I trying to sign out my phone number in iMessage or FaceTime and restart my phone still i found that number remaining as it is trying to deregister my phone number in that web but there’s no option of my country (Tanzania) in that list so I’m just confused coz no help from apple or any dealer who can help me on this.

updated my iPhone 15 to iOS 26 last night and now when I put the alert slider on silent, my notifications won’t vibrate. Even after checking all settings in sounds and haptics to be correct, it still isn't vibrating on silent. Also the apple music search bar is a little flimsy? Merging the text and microphone options
