Need Clarification on Using Location Push Service Extension for Firefighter Check-In/Check-Out
I’m building a firefighter app that needs to automatically check in a firefighter when they arrive at the station and check them out when they leave — even if the app is killed. We need reliable enter/exit detection, low latency, and only one fixed location per user. We’re evaluating Region Monitoring, which works in the killed state but may introduce delays and inconsistent accuracy. To ensure mission-critical reliability, we are considering the Location Push Service Extension, since it can fetch precise location on demand and wake the extension even when the app is terminated. Before requesting the restricted entitlement, we need clarification on Apple’s expectations: Is Region Monitoring recommended for this fixed-location use case? Would Apple consider approving the Location Push Service Extension for a public-safety workflow? What prerequisites do we need before submitting the entitlement request (Always permission, prototype, privacy disclosures, etc.)? What details should be included in the justification form? Our goal is to follow the most reliable and Apple-approved approach for firefighter check-in/out. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

My app suddenly cannot receive push notifications
My app(The Smart Life app) is unable to receive push notifications. Please confirm whether APNs has received push notifications from Alibaba Cloud and whether APNs has successfully pushed notifications to the Smart Life app.The Smart Life app uses Alibaba Cloud's push notification service. The message ID pushed by Alibaba Cloud is: f7a02288-a995-47ed-b417-837461028f03 Current Symptom: Alibaba Cloud has reported that this message has been successfully pushed to APNs, but the smart life app has not received any push notifications. The feedback log from Alibaba Cloud shows that the APNs push was successful, but the smart life app did not receive any push. Because APNs do not have message receipts and Alibaba Cloud cannot obtain notification delivery status, it is recommended that I use the APNs channel message ID to submit a work order to Apple technical support for investigation. Note: All push notification permissions for the Smart Life app are enabled, and the Smart Life app is in the foreground when push notifications are sent.

Carplay not read incoming chat message like whats app.
We have implemented Carplay in our voip based project and in this we have implemented Incoming call and chat notification feature for Carplay. For Carplay we implemented siri. Siri Object donated Successfully in Notification service Extension when notification didreceive method called. Donation Code :- func donateIncomingMessageIntent(sender: String, senderId: String, message: String, messageId: String, userInfo: [AnyHashable: Any],destination:String) { // Create proper name components clearAllinteraction() var nameComponents = PersonNameComponents() nameComponents.givenName = sender //unknown let senderPerson = INPerson( personHandle: INPersonHandle(value: senderId, type: .unknown), nameComponents: nameComponents, displayName: sender, image: nil, contactIdentifier: senderId, customIdentifier: "sender_\(senderId)" ) let recipientPerson = INPerson( personHandle: INPersonHandle(value: "me@example.com", type: .emailAddress), nameComponents: nil, displayName: "Me", image: nil, contactIdentifier: "me_id", customIdentifier: "user_id" ) let inMessage = INMessage( identifier: messageId, conversationIdentifier: "conversation_\(senderId)", content: message, dateSent: Date(), sender: senderPerson, recipients: [recipientPerson], groupName: nil, messageType: .text ) let intent = INSearchForMessagesIntent( recipients: [recipientPerson], senders: [senderPerson], searchTerms: [message], attributes: .unread, dateTime: nil, identifiers: [messageId], notificationIdentifiers: [messageId], groupNames: ["Messages"] ) let interaction = INInteraction(intent: intent, response: nil) interaction.identifier = "message_\(messageId)" interaction.direction = .incoming // Add direction DispatchQueue.global(qos: .userInitiated).async { interaction.donate { error in if let error = error { print("❌ Failed to donate INSearchForMessagesIntent: \(error.localizedDescription)") } else { print("✅ Donated INSearchForMessagesIntent successfully!") let intentData: [String: Any] = [ "senderName": sender, "senderId": senderId, "message": message, "messageId": messageId, "timestamp": Date().timeIntervalSince1970, "conversationId": "conversation_\(senderId)", // Add conversationId "destination":destination ] let defaults = UserDefaults(suiteName: "group.com.chatapp") // 🔁 Use your App Group ID defaults?.removeObject(forKey: "lastCarPlayIntentData") defaults?.set(intentData, forKey: "lastCarPlayIntentData") defaults?.synchronize() } } } } Here SenderID is like 3000@abc,2000@abc etc. In siri ,When we handle INSearchForMessagesIntent at that time all data getting from Userdefaults because without Userdefaults INSearchForMessagesIntent value nil. Even we enabled announcement using .allowAnnouncement. We also tried to save same sender in contact Book because sometime siri search contact and not found then may be raise this type of issue. So we need code level support for read incoming message in carplay when notification comes. Thank you.

Critical Messages Allow messages to
I am creating an app that uses critical messages, I have been granted this entitlement and I am adding the certificate and in the info.plist. In the app I request authorization to send messages to specific numbers. When I try the app in production from Xcode this works fine and I can send the critical messages. However, when I am using the app in the test flight the authorization does not seem to be remembered on the background. Moreover, I go to security/privacy settings and I grant permission to the selected number (I see that it only shows one number even when I have to granted, its like it removes the previous one) however when I exit the setting page the permission is reset (and therefore denied), I think this is a bug. Can you look into that. Both this removing granted permission (HIGH PRIORITY, this message can only be sent in the background, therefore the user can not grant it and why the maximum telephone number to be granted to send messages is reset also to a single one LOWER PRIORITY). Thanks

Issue in background notification iOS 18
Issue: I am making an application that stores data locally from notifications fired from the server. Everything works fine in the foreground but the background is having problems with not being triggered when notifications are fired. So we tried firing 2 notifications at the same time, including default and silent types. But the problem continues to arise on ios 18, when firing multiple times like that, the trigger is not handling all notifications, leading to data loss. I tried on ios 15 and it worked fine. Environment: Device or Simulator: Iphone 11 pro max (iOS 18.3.2 Steps to Reproduce: Open app, allow received notification. Move app to background mode or terminate app. Sent 2 notifications: a. Default notification payload: { "aps": { "content-available": 1 }, ”notification”: {…}, “alert”: {..}, “data": "some_value" } b. Silent notification payload: { "aps": { "content-available": 1 }, ”data": "some_value" } What I've Tried: Trigger notification in function: application(_:didReceiveRemoteNotification:fetchCompletionHandler:) Handle write data to local storage in above function, put it in background thread also. Thanks in advance!

iOS 18 Sending Duplicate Push Notifications
When sending a single push notification to iOS 18 devices users receive the same notification multiple times. This issue appears specific to iOS 18 and was not observed in previous iOS versions Our server logs confirm each notification is sent only once. Notification payloads include proper apns-id values for identification and no network issues detected on our side

Detecting Notification Banners, DND, and other screen anomalies
Is there a public method to know when an APNS has appeared on the screen? wrapping up a very high end photogrammetry app, using the front facing camera and screen illumination- incoming notifications completely throw off the math. Ideally, it would be great to turn on Do Not Disturb for the short process, but we’d settle for just the detection of the notification banner. also: extra credit - programattically adjusting Auto Dimming, and True Tone would be lovely too.

Sandbox Server Notifications V2: requestTestNotification returns 200, but no delivery to Webhook URL
I’m experiencing a confusing issue with App Store Server Notifications (Version 2) in the Sandbox environment. I've configured my Sandbox URL, but I'm not receiving any notifications despite successful API responses. App Details: App ID: 6753059790 Bundle ID: com.xmojong.widgetTest Sandbox URL: https://webhook.site/97938287-07e8-4482-a053-b6ccfca76634 The Problem: I am calling the requestTestNotification endpoint via the App Store Server API. The API call is successful and consistently returns a 200 OK status code. However, no notification (Type: TEST) is ever delivered to my Webhook.site endpoint. What I've verified: Endpoint Accessibility: I tested the Webhook URL by sending a manual POST request directly from my iOS app; it was received instantly. Configuration: The URL is correctly entered in the Sandbox Server URL field (not Production) in App Store Connect. Notification Version: It is set to Version 2. Propagation Time: It has been over 3 hours since I updated the URL and saved the changes in App Store Connect. JWT Token: The JWT for the API call is valid (verified by the 200 response from Apple). My Question: If the requestTestNotification API returns a 200, doesn't that mean the App Store server has successfully queued the notification for my specific URL? Is there a known delay for Sandbox notification delivery or URL propagation recently? Or are there any hidden requirements for the Sandbox environment that I might have missed? Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Silent Push notifications XCode 16.3 stop working on production
Hello, we have recently started signing and building our applications using Xcode 16.3. Since we made this change, we’ve noticed that the applications have stopped receiving silent push notifications (content-available: 1) when they are distributed via TestFlight or the App Store, even though we haven’t changed anything in the way these notifications are sent. As I mentioned, this started happening after migrating our project from Xcode 15 to Xcode 16.3. Regular push notifications are still working as expected, but silent ones are not being received by the apps. We are desperate because we rely on these silent notifications to inform the apps of updates, and we haven’t been able to identify the root cause of the issue.

Push Notifications Error
Hi, I'm experiencing an issue with my app. I use Firebase as my server, and it is great. Still, there is one issue: when I send push notifications from my app to users, the users will get the notification if the app is open, but not when it is closed. I have tried many solutions to fix it, even asking AI, but the issue is still there. I would be happy to give you access to Firebase and the Xcode workspace, as I have no clue how to fix it.

Critical Alerts Entitlement
Hi Team, We’re following up on our request for the Critical Alert entitlement for our app, which we plan to use to notify users about critical states of their devices. It’s been almost 4 weeks since we submitted the request, and we wanted to check on the typical review timeline so we can plan our upcoming work accordingly. If there’s anything we can provide or clarify to help complete the review or make the process easier, we’d be happy to assist. or the right forum to reach out to.

How to re-enable entitlements after App Transfer? (Location Push Service Extension)
Hi Apple team and fellow developers, We previously had Location Push Service Extension enabled and working in production. After transferring the app to a new Apple Developer team, the production App ID was transferred, but the Location Push entitlement was not retained. We've also created a new App ID for development, and now need Location Push access enabled for both the transferred production ID and the new development ID. We’ve already submitted the Location Push Access form with all relevant details. Unfortunately, the App Transfer documentation didn’t make it clear that Location Push access would be lost, and now we’re blocked from making new builds — even for the existing production app. ❓ Questions: Is it possible to re-enable Location Push for a transferred App ID? What’s the expected timeline for entitlement approval? Can Apple staff confirm the request status or let us know if any further action is needed? Thanks in advance — this entitlement is critical for our app’s functionality and release pipeline. Best, Aidar

Case-ID: 14080335 Push notification requests to iOS devices using APNs (HTTP/2) time out
We are currently developing a WebAPI service that uses APNs (HTTP/2) to send push notifications to iOS devices. (Using PushSharp's HTTP/2 support) The WebAPI service is running on IIS using .net framework 4.8 and c#. The connection to APNs is always maintained, and the connection is checked every 30 minutes using a dummy token Ping. KeepAlivePeriod = 30 minutes and KeepAliveRetryPeriod = 10 seconds have also been set. However, the following issues are occurring. Although the Ping sent immediately before was successful, a TimeoutException occurs in the notification request sent a few minutes later. There is no explicit disconnection notification from APNs, and the connection appears to be silently disconnected. Once a TimeoutException occurs, it occurs frequently afterwards. Below is an excerpt from the log. Apple Notification Failed for some unknown reason 1-1: One or more errors occurred. Apple Notification Failed for some unknown reason 1-2:System.TimeoutException: The operation timed out. In light of this issue, I would like to be advised on the following two points. Are there any official specifications regarding the lifecycle and expiration date of APNs HTTP/2 connections? Even if pings are sent periodically, is there a timeout or other setting that disables the connection on the APNs side? What are the conditions that would cause APNs to silently terminate a connection? For example, could this be due to inactivity, TLS restrictions, network maintenance, etc.? If you have any official documentation or technical guidelines to improve the reliability of this system, we would appreciate it if you could share them with us. Thank you in advance.

Questions for AlarmKit
We are so interested in AlarmKit which is presented at WWDC25. While we planning our app using AlarmKit, We had a few questions come to mind and were hoping you could provide some clarity. Please excuse the rather long list of questions, as we don't currently have a device available to test these features ourselves. System Actions Related Is there a limit to the number of alarms that can be scheduled using AlarmKit? Are alarms scheduled with AlarmKit persistent across device reboots? When an alarm is dismissed (either by swiping or pressing the power button), can our app detect this action and execute code in response? Can we control the behavior of the physical Lock Screen buttons when an AlarmKit alarm is active, for instance, to trigger a snooze action? Does AlarmKit function correctly during Do Not Disturb or Low Power Mode? What is the expected behavior when an alarm from our app (using AlarmKit) overlaps with an alarm from another app that also uses AlarmKit? Which one is going to get its priority? Thank you for your help. Sincerely

Remote Notifications delayed on device
We have been getting several reports in the past 2 weeks of APNs notifications being either heavily delayed or not delivered at all. We have two apps, one of which has a Notification Service Extension and one of which does not. We have had users of both reporting sporadic notification problems. Looking at the sysdiagnose logs from one example, it looks like the notification was actually processed by our notification extension in a timely fashion, but was not displayed to the user. An example event we investigated it the following (now perhaps a little long in the tooth): 2025-10-31T14:32:54 apnsId=EE3E002D-26DE-B4F5-5E9B-5E0C1E1B6B3D We think we have correlated this with device logs: default 2025-10-31 10:32:54.472054 -0400 [EDE9521D-8A65-4588-8AE8-D3D78B9E5EA5] Received replacement content for notification request 859D-ABC7 [ hasContent: 1 attachments: 0 ] However there is no other reference until the app was launched about 1.5 minutes later: default 2025-10-31 10:34:26.875327 -0400 [..] Got 1 delivered notifications [ hasCompletionHandler: 1 ] When trying to reproduce, when I saw notifications bannered, the trace I saw was "Got 0 delivered notifications". What's the significance of "Got 1 delivered notifications" in this case? Historically, SpringBoard logs have shown detailed trace about the handling of notifications (which was very useful in narrowing down the slowness of notifications due to Apple Intelligence, reported on our side as FB16253547, which doesn't seem to have been triaged but it looks like was resolved around iOS 18.2.1 or iOS 18.3); however it seems that now sysdiagnoses are only containing <1 minute of trace from SpringBoard. Is there any way to extend the trace from SpringBoard that is included in sysdiagnoses? I see there was also https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/806367 around the same time we started receiving reports. However I think my hypothesis is that this is a client-side issue, and notifications are being delivered to devices, just not presented correctly. Will try and collect a bit more data and file some Feedbacks and provide them here, but wanted to also flag here in case there are any others experiencing similar.

Even we enabled announcement using .allowAnnouncement. We also tried to save same sender in contact Book because sometime siri search contact and not found then may be raise this type of issue. So we need code level support for read incoming message in carplay when notification comes. Thank you.

APNS Connection Timed out
This error has been continuously occurring for about 9 hours. We have not replaced the certificate, modified the server code, or changed the firewall policy. Some requests succeed, but many are timing out, with several timeouts occurring every minute. We are unable to find the cause. Please help.

Best, Aidar

Critical alerts entitlement.
I submitted the form for the critical alert entitlement but have not received any response for already 2 weeks. How long does it normally take to review such requests? Is there any way I can contact a certain department directly?
