Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues
Hi, You're here because you've had issues with your implementation of In-App Provisioning Extensions for Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a new report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below with the appropriate log profiles installed. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device: Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The bundle IDs App bundle ID Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) The serial number of the device. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number. The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number. The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced. The type of provisioning failure (e.g., error at Terms & Conditions, error when adding a card, etc.) The issuer/network/country of the provisioned card (e.g., Mastercard – US) Last 4 digits of the FPAN Last 4 digits of the DPAN (if available) Was this test initiated from the Issuer App? (e.g., yes or no) The type of environment (e.g., sandbox or production) Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Apple Pay client. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your client, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay on the Web Merchant Issues
Hi, To ensure the issue is not caused by an error within your app or web service request, please review the Apple Pay Merchant Integration Guide. Additionally, please review the following technotes on Apple Pay: TN3173: Troubleshooting issues with your Apple Pay merchant identifier configuration TN3174: Diagnosing issues with the Apple Pay payment sheet on your website TN3175: Diagnosing issues with displaying the Apple Pay button on your website TN3176: Troubleshooting Apple Pay payment processing issues TN3206: Updating Apple Pay certificates If the resources above don’t help identify the cause of the error, please provide more information about your app or web services to get started. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below. Additionally, if the error is something we need to investigate further, the appropriate engineering teams also have access to the same information and can communicate with you directly within Feedback Assistant for more information, as needed. Please follow the instructions below to submit your report. For issues occurring with your native app or web service, perform the following steps: Install the Apple Pay profile on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The serial number of the device. The timestamp of when the issue was reproduced. Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or merchant domain in the Safari Web Inspector. See Inspecting Safari on macOS to learn more. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Apple Pay website. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your web implementation, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Integrating Apple Pay into an HTML inline frame (iframe) on your website
iOS 16 and earlier On iOS 16 and earlier, Apple Pay on the Web required Safari—and all interactions with the Apple Pay API to come from the parent/top level page. In order to facilitate the Apple Pay button in an HTML inline frame (iframe), there will need to be cross frame communication between the child and parent pages. Cross frame communication should be secure and robust, therefore the use of postMessage for this purpose is recommended. The expectation is for all communication with Apple Pay to occur from the parent page, so the iframe must relay all Apple Pay related events to the parent to handle. Some examples: Apple Pay availability: The parent calls applePayCapabilities, then sends the message of the response to the iframe, which then uses the value to toggle the visibility of the Apple Pay button. Apple Pay session: The iframe receives an onclick() event when the Apple Pay button is clicked and sends the message to the parent (providing details about the transaction). The parent create the payment request to obtain the session validation URL, and eventually receive session credentials and invokes completeMerchantValidation() to prevent the payment sheet. After the payment is authorized by the Payment Service Provider (PSP), the parent either: Redirects the parent page to a payment success page; or Sends a message to the iframe to complete the transaction flow itself. iOS 17 and later On IOS 17 and later, the iframe HTML element should include the allow="payment" attribute, which should facilitate the cross frame communications instead of needing a dedicated JavaScript library. This means all of the Apple Pay code/calls can reside in the iframe page—which is typically a hosted page from a Payment Service Provider (PSP), all the parent page—typically a merchant—has to do is add the attribute mentioned above to the iframe element. Important: Regardless of the iOS version, the PSP/merchant always needs to make sure the parent page domain is the one registered in the Developer portal, and used in the request to generate a merchant session via ApplePaySession. Inquiry Regarding Apple Pay Currency Support
Team, We are currently checking out on Apple Pay using ALL and MRU as currencies. We have authorized the payment via Touch ID; however, we are not receiving the onPaymentAuthorized event. Could you please confirm if Apple Pay supports ALL and MRU currencies? We have confirmed that it works with other currencies. Thank you!

Assistance with Adding Subdomain to Apple Sandbox Domain List
Hi team, I'm currently trying to add a specific subdomain (with a path) to Apple's Sandbox domain list, but it seems Apple only allows the main domain to be entered. Due to strict client security policies, we aren't allowed to use just the main domain, which is creating a roadblock in our implementation. Is there any way to add a full subdomain or URL path to the Sandbox configuration? I'm happy to join a call to explain the scenario further if that would help. Thanks in advance for your support!

Card details in the Wallet app shows as "Something went wrong. Try again later"
I'm encountering an issue with Apple Pay on both Wallet and the Watch app where the app name is not showing up on the back of the payment card(Card details). The pass was successfully provisioned, and everything seems to be working, but the expected app name or brand isn't displayed, and instead, I see the generic "Something went wrong. Try again Later" message. Do we need to configure something to get this displayed in Wallet app?

DPAN, MPAN, Cryptogram and Compliance
Hello everyone, I’m currently in the process of implementing Apple Pay on my company’s e-commerce website under a subscription model with recurring payments. I would appreciate some help in clarifying the following points: Is the applicationPrimaryAccountNumber the DPAN and the merchantTokenIdentifier the MPAN? If not, which fields represent each one or how do I recognise them? Is the onlinePaymentCryptogram used only for processing payments with the DPAN, or is it also involved when using the MPAN? Is the onlinePaymentCryptogram single-use or does it have an expiration time? Or is it reusable with no limits? According to Apple’s data policies, is it recommended for our servers to perform the payment token decryption (debundling), or should this only be handled by the payment gateway processor to stay compliant? Below is the payment request I’m using for testing, along with the decrypted payment token returned for a test card: Payment Request: { "countryCode": "US", "currencyCode": "USD", "merchantCapabilities": ["supports3DS", "supportsDebit", "supportsCredit"], "supportedNetworks": ["visa", "masterCard", "amex", "discover"], "requiredBillingContactFields": ["postalAddress", "name"], "lineItems": [ { "label": "Subtotal", "amount": "9" }, { "label": "Taxes", "amount": "1" } ], "total": { "label": "Demo (Card is not charged)", "amount": "10", "type": "final", "recurringPaymentIntervalUnit": "month" }, "recurringPaymentRequest": { "paymentDescription": "Recurring payment", "regularBilling": { "label": "Demo (Card is not charged)", "amount": "10", "type": "final", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentIntervalUnit": "month" }, "managementURL": "${window.location.origin}/api/managePaymentMethod" } } Decrypted Payment Token: { "applicationPrimaryAccountNumber": "5204240494898922", "applicationExpirationDate": "280630", "currencyCode": "840", "transactionAmount": 0, "deviceManufacturerIdentifier": "050110030273", "paymentDataType": "3DSecure", "paymentData": { "onlinePaymentCryptogram": "MCt5xR+VnQAAAAM/8mUjAAADFIA=" }, "merchantTokenIdentifier": "DM4MMC1US000000042e438d170774669844e732a41c28e97", "merchantTokenMetadata": { "cardMetadata": { "longDescription": "Test Bank for MasterCard MTF", "cardCountry": "US", "shortDescription": "Test Bank 2", "fpanSuffix": "0049" }, "cardArt": [ { "url": "https://nc-crt-smp-device-asset.apple.com:443/broker/v1/assets/174ce63257704d93b00aff8aa09ec0d5", "name": "cardBackgroundCombined@2x.png", "type": "image/png" } ] } } Thanks in advance for your help and guidance.

Apple Pay Is Not Available in "
We are encountering an issue where Apple Pay shows an unexpected popup with a message and an "OK" button when confirming a payment (after double-tapping the power button). This issue began appearing last week without any changes to the codebase or configurations. Steps to Reproduce: Open the app and initiate an Apple Pay payment. Add a valid card if not already present. Confirm the payment using the side button (double-tap). Instead of completing the transaction, a popup appears with a generic message and an "OK" button. Expected Behavior: Apple Pay should process the payment and provide a confirmation or error based on the transaction status. Actual Behavior: A popup appears with a generic title and an “OK” button. The transaction is not processed. Environment Details: Platform: iOS Apple Pay integration has been functioning correctly for years No recent updates to Apple Pay-related code or configuration Configurations Checked: App Identifier is correctly set with the bundle ID Apple Pay Payment Processing is enabled in the App ID configuration Correct Merchant ID is selected and matches in Xcode capabilities *.entitlements file contains correct Apple Pay entitlement Payment Processing Certificates are valid and in place Additional Notes: The issue appeared suddenly without any modifications to the app. We suspect it may be due to external changes (e.g., Apple system update or merchant validation issue). Please advise on any further steps we can take to diagnose or resolve this issue.

Twitch Like Subscriptions - Many-to-Many
Hi guys, We are trying to implement a solution that would allow users to subscribe to other users in our app. The system should work the same way as Twitch's subscription model works. Users should be able to subscribe to anyone and each subscription should have different tiers. From what we were able to gather, users cannot have multiples of the same subscription on applestoreconnect. Meaning that we would probably need to make a custom subscription per every user? Here we have also learned that there is a limit of 10 000 types of subscriptions and that it is not possible to dynamically create/delete them for users. (correct me if I am wrong) Is there a solution for handling this type of a scenario? Appreciate all answers.

PKAddPaymentPassError
please bear with me, i am NOT a developer. we have third party developer creating a banking app that is throwing an error when trying to provision MasterCard for Apple Pay. MasterCard says they do not see the request come in at all. our developer says the issue is between mastercard and apple - and asked us to reach out to Apple. Information provided from our developer: “Error code 2 is 'system cancelled' from the PKAddPaymentPassError enum. Basically, there is an issue between Apple and Mastercard (using the encrypted card info from...” Response from Mastercard Connect: Upon further research with the examples you shared we are not seeing any attempt that reached to MC

Apple Wallet Push Token length
For the pushToken sent by APNS to register a wallet pass for update notifications, is there a max length or size that APNS will send? I save the token in my database and have it defined as varchar(256), but I have had some instances where the pushToken is larger than that. I'd like to know if there's an absolute max size that APNS will send. Then I'll know if I should reject requests with tokens larger than what's expected, and/or if I need to make the token size larger in the database.

Non standard Wallet app non suppressed by pass suppression entitlement
We have an app that uses the pass-presentation-suppression entitlement and calls requestAutomaticPassPresentationSuppression to prevent the Wallet app from being presented when the device is displaying a barcode to a barcode/nfc reader. This works as expected for users of the standard Apple Wallet app. However, it does not prevent third-party wallet apps from being launched, which hides the barcode and prevents it from being scanned properly. What options do I have to prevent third-party wallet apps from launching or interfering while our app is actively presenting a barcode?

Inquiry about apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt Security and Access
I have a question regarding the file apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt. I understand that this file is used during API access for Apple Pay Web payments. However, is it necessary for our company to access this file during the payment process? Also, this domain validation file is expected to be placed in the publicly accessible “.well-known” folder on our web server. Is it acceptable for this file to remain readable by third parties on the Internet, including Apple’s servers, without posing any security risks? Since this file is generated during domain registration on the Apple Developer site and is unique to our domain, we believe there should be no security concerns even if accessed by third parties. However, are there any specific security requirements for this domain validation file? Please note that the domain validation has already been successfully completed. We appreciate your time and look forward to your guidance. Best regards,

Approve with Side Button' is not displayed
When accessing https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api, the "Approve with Side Button" prompt is displayed, but it does not appear when using our test domain. I implemented the Payment Request API based on the sample source code from the following URL. On an iPhone device, the Apple Pay payment screen is displayed, but the "Approve with Side Button" icon below the amount does not appear, and instead a spinning loading icon is shown continuously. Could you please help identify the cause? ■ Reference URL: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api ■ Changed parameter: "merchantIdentifier": "〇〇.dev" ■ Accessed domain: 〇〇test.com ■ Test device: iPhone 13 iOS: 18.4.1

How does the Domain Verification Files work
Currently, on our Production environment, when calling https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/paymentSessio,n we are randomly receiving: "Payment Services Exception merchantId={Value} unauthorized to process transactions on behalf of merchantId={Value} reason={Value} is not a registered merchant in WWDR and isn't properly authorized via Mass Enablement, either." Since launching Apple Pay on our platform we have received a new Domain Verification File and looking at some of the Domain Verification File that are hosted on the domains they are different to ours. Questions around the Domain Verification File Would we have to update every single Domain Verification File every time we receive a new one ? Does the paymentSession verfiy/call the Domain Verification File on the domain listed at https://[DOMAIN_NAME]/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association ? What happens if the Domain Verification File doesnt match the one that we currently have ? Would we have to regrester our Domains everytime we get a new Domain Verification File ?

How can I integrate Apple Pay subscription products?
We have used the ApplePayRecurringRequest parameter required for Apple Pay subscriptions, but during testing the payment, the Apple Pay payment page shown to the user remains the same as the one-time payment page, without any subscription information. Could you please check if there is an issue with our parameters or if there is an issue with the merchantIdentifier being used? Here is the ApplePayRequestData that we are using. { "supportedMethods": "https://apple.com/apple-pay", "data": { "version": 3, "merchantIdentifier": "***", "merchantCapabilities": [ "supports3DS", "supportsCredit", "supportsDebit" ], "supportedNetworks": [ "visa", "masterCard" ], "countryCode": "US", "recurringPaymentRequest": { "paymentDescription": "A description of the recurring payment to display to the user in the payment sheet.", "regularBilling": { "label": "Recurring", "amount": "4.99", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentStartDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" }, "trialBilling": { "label": "7 Day Trial", "amount": "0.00", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentEndDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" }, "billingAgreement": "A localized billing agreement displayed to the user in the payment sheet prior to the payment authorization.", "managementURL": "https://applepaydemo.apple.com", "tokenNotificationURL": "https://applepaydemo.apple.com" }, "additionalLineItems": [ { "label": "7 Day Trial", "amount": "0.00", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentEndDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" }, { "label": "Recurring", "amount": "4.99", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentStartDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" } ] }

We have used the ApplePayRecurringRequest parameter required for Apple Pay subscriptions, but during testing the payment, the Apple Pay payment page shown to the user remains the same as the one-time payment page, without any subscription information. Could you please check if there is an issue with our parameters or if there is an issue with the merchantIdentifier being used? Here is the ApplePayRequestData that we are using. { "supportedMethods": "https://apple.com/apple-pay", "data": { "version": 3, "merchantIdentifier": "***", "merchantCapabilities": [ "supports3DS", "supportsCredit", "supportsDebit" ], "supportedNetworks": [ "visa", "masterCard" ], "countryCode": "US", "recurringPaymentRequest": { "paymentDescription": "A description of the recurring payment to display to the user in the payment sheet.", "regularBilling": { "label": "Recurring", "amount": "4.99", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentStartDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" }, "trialBilling": { "label": "7 Day Trial", "amount": "0.00", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentEndDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" }, "billingAgreement": "A localized billing agreement displayed to the user in the payment sheet prior to the payment authorization.", "managementURL": "https://applepaydemo.apple.com", "tokenNotificationURL": "https://applepaydemo.apple.com" }, "additionalLineItems": [ { "label": "7 Day Trial", "amount": "0.00", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentEndDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" }, { "label": "Recurring", "amount": "4.99", "paymentTiming": "recurring", "recurringPaymentStartDate": "2025-06-02T16:00:00.000Z" } ] }
